A biodegradable nanofiber scaffolds using electrospining provide fibrous guidance cues for controlling cell fate that mimic the native extracellular matrix (ECM). It can create a pattern using conventional electrospining method, but has a difficulty to generate one or more pattern structures. Femtosecond(fs) laser ablation has much interested in patterning on biomaterials in order to distinguish the fundamental or systemic interaction between cell and material surface. The ablated materials with a short pulse duration using femtosecond laser that allows for precise removal of materials without transition of the inherent material properties. In this study, linear grooves and circular craters were fabricated on electrospun nanofiber scaffolds (poly-L-lactide(PLLA)) by femtosecond laser patterning processes. As parametric studies, pulse energy and beam spot size were varied to determine the effects of the laser pulse on groove size. We confirmed controlling pulse energy to $5{\mu}J-20{\mu}J$ and variation of lens maginfication of 2X, 5X, 10X, 20X created grooves of width to approximately $5{\mu}m-50{\mu}m$. Our results demonstrate that femtosecond laser processing is an effective means for flexibly structuring the surface of electrospun PLLA nanofibers.
Concrete structures may become vulnerable during their lifetime due to several reasons such as degradation of their material properties; design or construction errors; and environmental damage due to earthquake. These structures should be repaired or strengthened to ensure proper performance for the current service load demands. Several methods have been investigated and applied for the strengthening of reinforced concrete (RC) structures using various materials. Fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) reinforcement is one of the most recent type of material for the strengthening purpose of RC structures. The main objective of the present research is to identify the behavior of reinforced concrete slabs strengthened with FRP bars by using near surface mounted (NSM) technique. Validation study is conducted based on the experimental test available in the literature to investigate the accuracy of finite element models using LS-DYNA to present the behavior of the models. A parametric analysis is conducted on the effect of FRP bar diameters, number of grooves, groove intervals as well as width and height of the grooves on the flexural behavior of strengthened reinforced slabs. Performance of strengthening RC slabs with NSM FRP bars was confirmed by comparing the results of strengthening reinforced slabs with control slab. The numerical results of mid-span deflection and stress time histories were reported. According to the numerical analysis results, the model with three grooves, FRP bar diameter of 10 mm and grooves distances of 100 mm is the most ideal and desirable model in this research. The results demonstrated that strengthening of reinforced concrete slabs using FRP by NSM method will have a significant effect on the performance of the slabs.
The purpose of thus study was to measure the changes of arch and dentition of maxillary posterior teeth before and after treatment and postretentios in patients treated with Quad-helix. Measurements and analysis were performed on study model with carlipers. Seventeen cases, eight boys and nine girls, were selected with average ages of 12.7 years. Mean retention period was 4 months, and mean wearing time was. 127 days. The result were as follows 1. The interpremolar widths and intermolar width were significantly increased in maxillary first piennolar and molar when compared between before and after treatment and postretention. The maxillary second premolar resulted in significant increase in interpremolar between after tretment and post retention. 2. The long axis of maxillary first premolar and first molar accompaning buccal tipping was significant increased before and after Tx and post retention. Significant increase of the lingual inclination of maxillary second premolar was obsered both in before and after Tx, and before Tx and post retention. 3. The distance between the height of tooth contour was significantly increased in the first and second premolar before and after Tx, and was significant increased in the first molar before and after Tx and post retention. 4. Intermolar width at the palatal groove was increased in before and after Tx. and post retention. The palatal depth was significant increased in before and after Tx. In conclusion expansion of maxillary dental arch showed no relapse and results were stable retention
The purpose of this study was to estimate the morphology and the size of permanent mandibular molar in Korean Adult. The 100 dental college students with a normal dentition and without any dental prosthesis and severe caries were selected for this study The subjects were taken impression to make study model. On the study model, the 5 dentists measured those sizes and estimated morphological structures with a calipers, a Boley gauge and a protractor. The results were as follows; 1. The clinical crown height, width, thickness and the other anatomical structures had symmetrical relationship between the left and right mandibular molar. 2. In the clinical crown height aspect, the buccal crown heights always were higher than the lingual crown height. The heights of the each surface, the buccal or lingual surface, were gradually decreased from the 1st molar to the 2nd molar and the difference on the buccal surface was higher than that on the lingual surface. 3. In the clinical crown width aspect, the mesiodistal measurement of the mandibular 1st molar was higher than that of the mandibular 2st molar. 4. In the clinical crown thickness aspect, the mesial buccolingual measurement was highest on the mandibular 1st molar and the distal buccolingual distance was lowest on the mandibular 2nd molar. This distal thickness of the mandibular molar always was higher than that of the mesial half. 5. The well-developed mesiobuccal groove of the 1st molar was observed more often than that of the 2nd molar. The buccal pit was also observed more frequently at the 1st molar, but the frequency(35%) was not high. 6. The occlusal type according to the number of cusp was almost 5-cusp(98%) in the 1st molar and was also 5-cusp(63%) in the 2nd molar. The frequency of the 6th cusp was 31% in the 1st molar and was 22% in the 2nd molar. The frequency of the 7th cusp was below 2of in the both teeth. 7. In the buccolingual intercuspal distance aspect of the mesial and distal half, the intercuspal distance of distal half was higher than that of the mesial half on the 1st and 2nd molar, but the difference on the 1st molar was higher than that on the 2nd molar. 8. The difference between the widths of the buccal and lingual half was 1.5mm in the 1st molar and 0.8mm in the 2nd molar. Therefore the lingual convergency of the occlusal surface was more higher in the 1st molar. 9. On the mandibular 1st and 2nd molar, the distobuccal external angle was more acute than the mesiobuccal external angle. But the mesiobuccal internal angle was more acute than the distobuccal internal angle. 10. When the mandibular molar was a 5-cusp type, the development of the distal cusp on the 1st molar was better than that on the 2nd molar. The difference between the cusps was around 0.4mm.

Instead of using CCl$_4$CCl$_2$F$_2$ gases, we used a alternative reaction gas of CFCs which we have developed, for the experiment of laser induced dry etching of laser induced dry etching of GaAs, and compared with the etch profile of a usual reation gas. Laser powers(power density) on the sample surface were varied from 100 mW(12.7 MW/$\textrm{cm}^2$) to 210mW(27 MW/$\textrm{cm}^2$) The laser beam was scanned over the sample by moving the cell with a speed raging from 8.3$\mu\textrm{m}$/sec and the gas pressure also was varied form 260 Torr to 760 Torr, High etching rates up to 136 $\mu\textrm{m}$/sec and an aspect ratio of 2.6 have been achieved by single scan of laser beam. The chemical compositions of the reaction products deposited on the etched groove were measured by Auger electron spectroscopy(AES) Etch profiles, including depth and width were observed by scanning electron microscopy(SEM)
This studies were carried out to identify the characteristics of the tongue of Korean native goat(Capra hircus) by macroscopy, microscopy and scanning microscopy. Korean native goat had torus linguae, median lingual sulcus, lingual fossa and ventral median fissure but did not have glossoepiglottic fold and terminal sulcus in the tongue. The whole length of tongue was $11.51{\pm}0.76cm$. The length of tongue apex, tongue body, tongue root and the torus linguae were $2.62{\pm}0.28$, $7.39{\pm}0.27$, $1.56{\pm}0.26$ and $6.37{\pm}0.29cm$, respectively. The width of tongue apex, torus linguae and tongue root were $3.41{\pm}0.24$, $3.74{\pm}0.29$ and $3.68{\pm}0.11$, respectively. The thickness of tongue apex was $1.60{\pm}0.10$, and the height of torus linguae was $1.52{\pm}0.15cm$. Filiform papillae were present at the tongue apex and the tongue body rostral to torus linguae. Fungiform papillae were scattered from tongue apex to rostral portion of torus linguae, being in abundance at the tongue apex. Vallate papillae were showed at the lateral portion of torus linguae, while lentiform papillae were present at its central portion. Conical papillae were located between vallate and lentiform papillae. The numbers of filiform, fungiform, conical, vallate and lentiform papillae were $46,980{\pm}1070.98$, $446.8{\pm}36.97$, $818.4{\pm}43.99$, $34.8{\pm}2.77$, and $255.6{\pm}39.30$, respectively. The average numbers of taste bud were $8.3{\pm}2.04$ in a fungiform papilla and $247.3{\pm}37.44$ in a vallate papilla. The filiform papilla had secondary and tertiary papillae. The height of filiform papilla was about $150{\mu}m$ and the diameter was $100{\mu}m$. The diameters of fungiform papillae were 350 to $550{\mu}m$. The long and short diameters of maximum-sized lentiform papilla were 4000 and $3000{\mu}m$, respectively, while those of minimum-sized papilla were 700 and $600{\mu}m$, respectively. The height of conical papillae was 450 to $600{\mu}m$ and diameter was 250 to $450{\mu}m$. The vallate papilla was round or oval in shape and its diameter was 500 to $850{\mu}m$. It had well-developed papillary groove around itself. The modified conical papillae were not observed in the tongue of Korean native goat.
This study was implemented among 100 students of C College of Public Health who have healthy permanent dentition in order to measure the morphology and sizes of clinical crowns of permanent maxillary molars. The following are conclusions of this study. 1. The cusp height, crown width, crown thickness of clinical crowns appeared to be bilaterally symmetrical. 2. The strong development of the buccal groove showed to be superior in the right first molar. The appearance rate of the buccal pit was high in the right first molar also. 3. The type 4th cusp appeared as 100% in the left and right first molars, and 78%, 75% in the left and right second molars respectively. 4. The distal lingual cusp(DLC) size were bilaterally symmetrical in the type 4th cusp. 5. As for the distance between two cusp tips, it was large between mesial cusp tips in all of the first and second molars at both sides. 6. Development of the Carabelli's cusp was high in both the left and right first molars. 7. The appearance rate of the oblique ridge was 87.0% in the right first molar, 73.0% in the right second molar, 88.0% in the left first molar, and 73.0% in the left second molar. This is considered to be caused by people who have mild dental crown caries in their first molars. 8. The appearance rate of the mesial marginal ridge tubercle(DMRT) was high in both of the left and right first molars. That of the distal tubercle was 16.0% in the right first molar, 26.0% in the right second molar, 14.0% in the left first molar, and 21% in the left second molar.

In this paper, the study of a waveguide aperture-coupled feed-structured antenna has been conducted for the purpose of applying it to a wireless back-haul system sufficient for high-capacity gigabits-per-second data rates. For this study, a $32{\times}32$ waveguide slot sub-array antenna with a corporate-feed structure was designed and produced. Also, this antenna is used at 57 GHz to 66 GHz in the V-band. The construction of the antenna is a laminated form with radiating parts (outer groove and slot, cavity), a coupled aperture, and feeds in each. The antenna was designed with HFSS, which is based on 3D-FEM, produced with aluminum processed by a precision-controlled milling machine, and assembled after a silver-plating process. The measurement result from analysis of the characteristics of the antenna shows that return loss is less than -12 dB, VSWR < 2.0, and a wide bandwidth ranges up to 16%. An overall first side lobe level is less than -12.3 dB, and a 3 dB beam width is narrow at about $1.85^{\circ}$. Also, antenna gain is 38.5 dBi, offering high efficiency exceeding 90%.

Background: A 9-year-old male showed severe defects in midface structures, which resulted in maxillary hypoplasia, ocular hypertelorism, relative mandibular prognathism, and syndactyly. He had been diagnosed as having Apert syndrome and received a surgery of frontal calvaria distraction osteotomy to treat the steep forehead at 6 months old, and a surgery of digital separation to treat severe syndactyly of both hands at 6 years old. Nevertheless, he still showed a turribrachycephalic cranial profile with proptosis, a horizontal groove above supraorbital ridge, and a short nose with bulbous tip. Methods: Fundamental aberrant growth may be associated with the cranial base structure in radiological observation. Results: The Apert syndrome patient had a shorter and thinner nasal septum in panthomogram, PA view, and Waters' view; shorter zygomatico-maxillary width (83.5 mm) in Waters' view; shorter length between the sella and nasion (63.7 mm) on cephalogram; and bigger zygomatic axis angle of the cranial base (118.2°) in basal cranial view than a normal 9-year-old male (94.8 mm, 72.5 mm, 98.1°, respectively). On the other hand, the Apert syndrome patient showed interdigitating calcification of coronal suture similar to that of a normal 30-year-old male in a skull PA view. Conclusion: Taken together, the Apert syndrome patient, 9 years old, showed retarded growth of the anterior cranial base affecting severe midface hypoplasia, which resulted in a hypoplastic nasal septum axis, retruded zygomatic axes, and retarded growth of the maxilla and palate even after frontal calvaria distraction osteotomy 8 years ago. Therefore, it was suggested that the severe midface hypoplasia and dysostotic facial profile of the present Apert syndrome case are closely relevant to the aberrant growth of the anterior cranial base supporting the whole oro-facial and forebrain development.

The toxic dinoflagellate Gymnodinium catenatum isolated from the southern coast of Korea was described under light and scanning electron microscopy, and its large subunit (LSU) rDNA was sequenced. In addition, the effects of temperature and salinity on its growth were investigated. The cells of G. catenatum, as viewed under the electronic microscope, were green-brown color, $38.1-77.4{\mu}m$ in length and $26.1-40.8{\mu}m$ in width. The epicone was conical, while the hypocone was trapezoidal. The nucleus was located at the central part of the cell. The apical groove was horseshoe-shaped and small pores were irregularly distributed on the cell surface. Molecular phylogeny based on LSU rDNA gene sequences showed that the Korean G. catenatum and previously reported species formed a monophyletic clade within Gymnodinium sensu stricto clade. The maximum growth rate of $0.37day^{-1}$, was obtained at $25^{\circ}C$ and 35 psu, and the maximum cell density of $1,073cells\;mL^{-1}$, was observed at $20^{\circ}C$ and 25 psu. However, G. catenatum did not grow at temperature < $15^{\circ}C$ and < $30^{\circ}C$. These results suggest that environmental conditions of summer and autumn in the southern coast of Korea may be favorable for the growth of G. catenatum.
