The east coast of Kangwon province has been suffering from natural disaster like wildfire and flooding. In April 2000, there has been a great wildfire in this area. Many forest was burnt out, the mountain was bared. Furthermore, on 31st August,2002 typhoon RUSA attacked the area with heavy rainfall of about 315 mm/day, which resulted in 178 deaths and extensive damage to the property, In this regard, our study was focused on the assessment of the factors of flooding damage considering wildfire disaster. Most of results for our study are derived from practical investigation in the east coast of Kangwon province.

Changes in the soil bacterial community of a coniferous forest were analyzed to assess microbial responses to wildfire. Soil samples were collected from three different depths in lightly and severely burned areas, as well as a nearby unburned control area. Direct bacterial counts ranged from $3.322.6\times10^8\;cells/(g{\cdot}soil).$ In surface soil, direct bacterial counts of unburned soil exhibited a great degree of fluctuation. Those in lightly burned soil changed less, but no significant variation was observed in the severely burned soil. The fluctuations of direct bacterial count were less in the middle and deep soil layers. The structure of the bacterial community was analyzed via the fluorescent in situ hybridization method. The number of bacteria detected with the eubacteria-targeted probe out of the direct bacterial count varied from $30.3\;to\;84.7\%,$ and these ratios were generally higher in the burned soils than in the unburned control soils. In the surface unburned soil, the ratios of $\alpha,\;\beta\;and\;gamma-proteobacteria,$ Cytophaga-Flavobacterium group, and other eubacteria groups to total eubacteria were 9.9, 10.6, 15.5, 9.0, and $55.0\%,$ respectively, and these ratios were relatively stable. The ratios of $\alpha,\;\beta\;and\;gamma-proteobacteria,$ and Cytophaga-Flavobacterium group to total eubacteria increased immediately after the wildfire, and the other eubacterial proportions decreased in the surface and middle layer soils. By way of contrast, the composition of the 5 groups of eubacteria in the subsurface soil exhibited no significant fluctuations during the entire period. The total bacterial population and bacterial community structure disturbed by wildfire soon began to recover, and original levels seemed to be restored 3 months after the wildfire.
Fire fuel map is one of the most critical factors for planning and managing the fire hazard and risk. However, fuel mapping is extremely difficult because fuel properties vary at spatial scales, change depending on the seasonal situations and are affected by the surrounding environment. Remote sensing has potential to reduce the uncertainty in mapping fuels and offers the best approach for improving our abilities. Especially, Hyperspectral sensor have a great potential for mapping vegetation properties because of their high spectral resolution. The objective of this paper is to evaluate the potential of mapping fuel properties using Hyperion hyperspectral remote sensing data acquired in April, 2002. Fuel properties are divided into four broad categories: 1) fuel moisture, 2) fuel green live biomass, 3) fuel condition and 4) fuel types. Fuel moisture and fuel green biomass were assessed using canopy moisture, derived from the expression of liquid water in the reflectance spectrum of plants. Fuel condition was assessed using endmember fractions from spectral mixture analysis (SMA). Fuel types were classified by fuel models based on the results of SMA. Although Hyperion imagery included a lot of sensor noise and poor performance in liquid water band, the overall results showed that Hyperion imagery have good potential for wildfire fuel mapping.
Recently, in Korea, if a very large forest fire occurs due to the people's carelessness, it is of great interest because it spreads into a large forest fire. If a wildfire spreads and becomes large, it will inflict great damage (appointment and property), and the damage is irreversible. The best way to extinguish a wildfire is to prevent it before it occurs. If a forest fire occurs due to a failure in prevention, the early firefighting activities to prevent the progress of the forest fire by promptly dispatching it by reporting it and approaching the site as soon as possible should now be managed with a systematic integrated management system. To do so, it is necessary to prepare a preventive system, such as issuing warnings for each weather condition by the Korea Forest Service, consisting of cooperation (support) activities for forest fire prevention by related organizations, etc. In order to minimize the loss of precious lives and forests, measures have been taken to establish a system, to establish a prompt and accurate situation reporting system, and to establish an integrated command system (ICS) for on-site commanders.

Wildfire caused by Pseudomonas amygdali pv. tabaci has been seen a steady increase in the incidence and prevalence on soybean in Korea. But up to know there is no official report on the prevalence of the disease in Korea. The nationwide survey of the occurrence of soybean wildfire showed that 19 out of 30 regions in 2014 and 9 out of 28 regions in 2015 had been infected with P. amygdali pv. tabaci. The severity of wildfire varied according to the cultivar, cultivation regions and climates. However, cultivar seoeitae was susceptible in both 2014 and 2015. The disease severity of 2014 was twice that of 2015. Since the temperature of 2014 and 2015 were very similar but the precipitation of 2014 was more than twice that of 2015, the precipitation of 2014 had a great impact on the wildfire disease severity.
Fire-enhanced soil hydrophobicity often increases runoff and erosion in the mountain hillslope following severe wildfires. Estimation techniques for WEPP's parameters were studied in burnt mountain slopes. In burnt mountain slopes, the model over-predicted runoff in the small runoff and under-predicted runoff in the great runoff, and in the lower sediment runoff it had a tendency to over-predict soil loss. The effective hydraulic conductivity was most sensitive in the WEPP's runoff and its sediment runoff was mainly effected by the effective hydraulic conductivity, initial saturation, rill erodibility, and interrill erodibility. To improve the applicability of the WEPP, the adjustment coefficient of effective hydraulic conductivity was defined for runoff and the adjustment coefficient of rill erodibility and interrill erodibility was presented for sediment runoff. The adjustment coefficient of effective hydraulic conductivity in wildfire mountain slopes increased with maximum rainfall intensity of single storm and the vegetation height index. The adjustment coefficients of rill erodibility depended on soil components of size distribution curve and total rainfall depths in single storm. The adjustment coefficients of interrill erodibility decreased with increases of maximum rainfall intensity and vegetation height index. These results may be used in the application of WEPP model for wildfire mountain slopes.

While characteristics of topography, soil, and vegetation coverage were surveyed, also surface runoff and soil erosion for each rainfall event were measured to analyze effect of change of land cover conditions in mountain areas, Yangyang, directly after wildfire. Fifteen rainfall events were taken in total during the survey period. The result of this survey appeared that the amount of surface runoff and soil erosion are a great difference between plots with rapidly recovered vegetation and bare plots after wildfire. The burned plots where vegetation recovered rapidly generated two times or more of surface runoff and soil erosion than control plots, as burned plots with bare soil showed about ten times of surface runoff and sediment than control plots. The result of correlation analysis between main parameters of the surface runoff and soil erosion presented that rainfall factors and vegetation factors had significant effects on runoff and soil erosion. The sensitivity of runoff and soil erosion showed specially high correlation with vegetation indices. If the land surface disturbed by wildfire are recovered by natural vegetation as time passes, runoff and soil erosion may be decreased gradually. Because runoff and soil erosion in the areas with rare vegetation or bare soil are generated continuously, the discriminated mediation strategies would be established as condition of each region.

Korea has a vulnerable environment from the risk of wildfires, which causes great damage every year. To prevent this, a lot of manpower is being used, but the effect is insufficient. If wildfires are detected and extinguished early through artificial intelligence technology, damage to property and people can be prevented. In this paper, we studied the object double detection method with the goal of minimizing the data collection and processing process that occurs in the process of creating an object detection model to minimize the damage of wildfires. In YOLOv5, the original image is primarily detected through a single model trained on a limited image, and the object detected in the original image is cropped through Crop. The possibility of improving the false positive object detection rate was confirmed through the object double detection method that re-detects the cropped image.

Humans have been important driver to reconfigure the terrestrial surface of the Earth by altering its morphology and processes. The effect of human activities on the physical landscape, however, shows substantially uneven geographical patterns. Most of anthrogemorphoogical studies regarding human-induced denudation have focused on areas with a long history of human modifications such as humid landscapes, so the hypothesis is naturally a great human impact on landscapes. The effect of human activities on dryland Earth surfaces are far less commonly studied, although erosion is one of major concerns in arid and semi-arid region regarding land and water quality degradation. The urban metropolis of Phoenix, Arizona, USA provides an opportunity to explore the impact of the Anthropocene. The Phoenix metropolitan area rests on classic desert landforms, such as extensive pediments, alluvial fans and sand sheets. Human activities including cattle crazing, wildfire resulting from introduced grass species by human, and recent urbanization processes have impacted these classic desert landforms and altered geomorphic processes. The purpose of this paper, therefore, rests in examining Anthropocene in the geomorphology of the north-central Sonoran Desert. The objectives of this paper are: i) to understand the impact of the Anthropocene on the geomorphological processes and forms through field observations; ii) to quantify the magnitude of human impacts on landscape using a published two-decade long record of erosion dataset and natural background erosion dataset in submitted manuscript at the sprawling edge of the Phoenix metropolitan region; iii) to examine how geomorphic outcome can affect the sustainability of cities through the estimation of sediment yield under the condition of urban sprawl.
