The graph-based SLAM (Simultaneous Localization and Mapping) approach has been gaining much attention in SLAM research recently thanks to its ability to provide better maps and full trajectory estimations when compared to the filtering-based SLAM approach. Even though graph-based SLAM requires batch processing causing it to be computationally heavy, recent advancements in optimization and computing power enable it to run fast enough to be used in real-time. However, data association problems still require large amount of computation when building a pose graph. For example, to find loop closures it is necessary to consider the whole history of the robot trajectory and sensor data within the confident range. As a pose graph grows, the number of candidates to be searched also grows. It makes searching the loop closures a bottleneck when solving the SLAM problem. Our approach to alleviate this bottleneck is to sample a limited number of pose nodes in which loop closures are searched. We propose a heuristic for sampling pose nodes that are most advantageous to closing loops by providing a way of ranking pose nodes in order of usefulness for closing loops.
The study of the web graph yields valuable insight into web algorithms for crawling, searching and community discovery, and the sociological phenomena which characterize its evolution, also it is useful for understanding the evolution process of web graph and predicting the scale of the Web. In this paper, we report experimental results on properties of the Korea web graph with over 116 million pages and 2.7 billion links. We indicate to study the Korea web properties such as the power law phenomenon and then to analyze the similarity and difference between the global and Korea web graph. Our analysis reveals the Korea web graph have different properties compared with the global web graph from the structure to the evolution of the Web. Finally, a number of measurements of the evolution of the Korea web graph ill be represented.

RCR network[1] is a topology for interconnection networks having many desirable properties for building scalable parallel machines. This had been analyzed by Hu and Cao[2] to deal with problems of disconnected graph, bisection width and diameter. We analyze some properties of RCR again and revise the condition for connected graph and network diameter. And we present an efficient algorithm for finding next node on a shortest path.
Recently, the web 2.0 services which appear by exponential extension of the Internet can be expressed with the changes in the quality of structural evolution and in the quantity of increasing users. The structural base is in user participational architecture, the web 2.0 services such as Blog, UCC, SNS(Social Networking Service), Mash-up, Long tail, etc. play a important role in organization of web, and grouping and searching of user participational data in web 2.0 is broadly used by folksonomy. Folksonomy is a new form that categorizes by tags, not classic taxonomy skill. it is made by user participation. Searching based on tag is now done by a simple text or a tag cloud method. But searching to consider and express the relations among each tags is imperfect yet. Thus, this paper provides the relational searching based on tags using the relational graph of tags. It should improve the trust of the searching and provide the convenience of the searching.
One large topic in comparative genomics is to predict functional annotation by classifying protein sequences. Computational approaches for function prediction include protein structure prediction, sequence alignment and domain prediction or binding site prediction. This paper is on another computational approach searching for sets of homologous sequences from sequence similarity graph. Methods based on similarity graph do not need previous knowledges about sequences, but largely depend on the researcher's subjective threshold settings. In this paper, we propose a genome sequence clustering method of iterative testing and graph decomposition, and a simple method to calculate a strict threshold having biochemical meaning. Proposed method was applied to known bacterial genome sequences and the result was shown with the BAG algorithm's. Result clusters are lacking some completeness, but the confidence level is very high and the method does not need user-defined thresholds.
A hybrid image segmentation algorithm is proposed which integrates edge-based and region-based techniques through the watershed algorithm. First, by using mean curvature diffusion coupled to min/max flow, noise is eliminated and thin edges are preserved. After images are segmented by watershed algorithm, the segmented regions are combined with neighbor regions. Region adjacency graph (RAG) is employed to analyze the relationship among the segmented regions. The graph nodes and edge costs in RAG correspond to segmented regions and dissimilarities between two adjacent regions respectively. After the most similar pair of regions is determined by searching minimum cost RAG edge, regions are merged and the RAG is updated. The proposed method efficiently reduces noise and provides one-pixel wide, closed contours.

Along with the development of information technology, the digitalization of archives has also been accelerating. However, digital archives have limitations in effectively searching, interlinking, and understanding records. In response to these issues, this study proposes a knowledge graph that represents comprehensive relationships among heterogeneous entities in digital archives. In this case, the knowledge graph organizes resources in the archives on the Korean financial crisis of 1997 by transforming them into named entities that can be discovered by machines. In particular, the study investigates and creates an overview of the characteristics of the archives on the Korean financial crisis as a digital archive. All resources on the archives are described as entities that have relationships with other entities using semantic vocabularies, such as Records in Contexts-Ontology (RiC-O). Moreover, the knowledge graph of the Korean Financial Crisis of 1997 is represented by resource description framework (RDF) vocabularies, a machine-readable format. Compared to conventional digital archives, the knowledge graph enables users to retrieve a specific entity with its semantic information and discover its relationships with other entities. As a result, the knowledge graph can be used for semantic search and various intelligent services.

The Distribution System consist of many tie-line switches and sectionalizing switches, operated a radial type. When an outage occurs in Distribution System, outage areas are isolated by system switches, has to restored as soon as possible. At this time, system operator have to get a information about network topology for service restoration of outage areas. Therefore, the searching result of restorative topology has to fast computation time and reliable result topology for to restore a electric service to outage areas, equal to optimal switching operation problem. So, the problem can be defined as combinatorial optimization problem. The service restoration problem is so important problem which have outage area minimization, outage loss minimization. Many researcher is applying to the service restoration problem with various techniques. In this paper, advanced Dijkstra algorithm is applied to searching a restoration topology, is so efficient to searching a shortest path in graph type network. Additionally, fuzzy rules and operator are applied to overcome a fuzziness of correlation with input data. The present technique has superior results which are fast computation time and searching results than previous researches, demonstrated by example distribution model system which has 3 feeders, 26 buses. For a application capability to real distribution system, additionally demonstrated by real distribution system of KEPCO(Korea Electric Power Corporation) which has 8 feeders and 140 buses.

We study low-complexity graph sampling which selects a subset of nodes from graph nodes so as to reconstruct the original signal from the sampled one. To achieve complexity reduction, we propose a graph sampling algorithm with thresholding which selects a node with a cost lower than a given threshold at each step without fully searching all of the remaining nodes to find one with the minimum cost. Since it is important to find the threshold as close to a minimum cost as possible to avoid degradation of the reconstruction performance, we present a mathematical expression to compute the threshold at each step. We investigate the performance of the different sampling methods for various graphs, showing that the proposed algorithm runs 1.3 times faster than the previous method while maintaining the reconstruction performance.
Minimum Weight Triangulation (MWT) problem is an optimization problem searching for the triangulation of a given graph with minimum weight. Like many other graph problems this problem is also known to be NP-hard for general graphs. Several heuristic algorithms have been proposed for this problem including simulated annealing and genetic algorithm. In this paper, we propose a new genetic algorithm called GA-FF and show that the performance of the proposed genetic algorithm outperforms the previous one.
