A Comparative study of the computer education curriculum in Graduate School of Education between Korea and the UK (한국과 영국의 교육대학원 컴퓨터교육과정의 비교 연구)

  • The present study attempted to explore the possibility of improvement of the computer education curriculum in graduate school of education in Korea. This study compared the computer education curriculum in graduate school of education in Korea with the ICT PGCE in the UK. The results of the study are as follows: All 5graduate school of education regarded their role as producers of teachers and teacher re-trainers. It is necessary to identify characteristic educational curriculum by their different role. The courses for subject content were more important than those for subject pedagogy. The subject pedagogy such as teaching and learning theories related to the computer education should be selected more frequently as the subject content. The course mainly consisted of only four weeks field experience. For potential computer teachers, it should be emphasized to practice fields works in schools.

  • The advent of the intelligent information society and artificial intelligence education for fostering future talents is attracting the attention of the education community, and the AI graduate course for teachers is also being opened and operated. The curriculum of the AI education graduate school, which was established this year, is self-contained considering the conditions of each university. Are organized. Accordingly, this study seeks to explore the direction of curriculum development so that AI curriculum that can be more effective and enhance educational value in the graduate school of education can be developed in the future. Based on the Backward design, the AI curriculum proposed in this study includes Bloom's digital taxonomy, Bruner's spiral curriculum composition principle, and three elements such as 'content domain', 'level', and 'teacher learning method'. It was intended to consist of. Based on the direction of AI curriculum development suggested in the study, we hope that the AI curriculum of domestic graduate schools of education will be more substantial, and this framework will be revised and supplemented in the future to be used in the composition of the AI curriculum in elementary and secondary schools.

Analysis of Home Economics Curriculum Using Text Mining Techniques (텍스트 마이닝 기법을 활용한 중학교 가정과 교육과정 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analysis the home economics education curriculum from the first national curriculum to the 2015 revised curriculum using text mining techniques used in big data analysis. The subjects of the analysis were 10 curriculum texts from the first national curriculum to the 2015 revised curriculum via the National Curriculum Information Center. The major findings of this study were as follows; First, the number of data from the 4th curriculum to the 2015 revised curriculum gradually increased. Second, as a result of extracting core concept of the curriculum, there were core concept words that were changed and maintained according to the curriculum. 'Life' and 'home' were core concepts that persisted regardless of changes in the curriculum, after the 2007 revised curriculum, 'problem', 'ability', 'solution' and 'practice' were emphasized. Third, through core concept network analysis for each curriculum, the relationship between core concepts is represented by nodes and lines in each home economics curriculum. As a result, it was confirmed that the core concepts emphasized by the times are strongly connected with 'life' and 'home'. Based on these results, this study is meaningful in that it provides basic data to form the identity and the existing direction of home economics education.

A comparative study on the external & internal structure of mathematics curriculum between Korea and Japan : Focusing on the aspects of recent revisions (한·일 수학과 교육과정의 외·내적 체재 비교 분석 : 직전 교육과정과의 변화를 중심으로)

  • This study aims to investigate the aspects of revision in the external and internal structure of curriculum and documentation in Korea and Japan and to propose the direction and task to enhance the current framework of the national curriculum. Japan has been selected for comparison in that it explicitly prepared social changes such as the dramatic evolution of artificial intelligence and population aging in its new curriculum. Therefore, various aspects of revision were analyzed the 2009 & 2015 revised mathematics curriculum of Korea and the 2008 & 2017 mathematics curriculum of Japan respectively in the elementary, middle, and high school grade bands. Then, the differences between the two countries were identified through comparison. First, the structure of the mathematics curriculum in Japan was connected with the general guidelines more tightly than Korea, and the external structure of the mathematics curriculum stayed consistently after the revision. Second, contrary to Korea, which pursued the appropriateness and reduction of mathematical content, Japanese mathematics curriculum has been pursuing detailed contents both quantitatively and qualitatively. Lastly, Japan emphasized statistical problem-solving ability. Based on this, we suggested considering of consistency in the structure curriculum documentation, detailing contents of the curriculum, and strengthening of statistical education.

  • The purpose of the study is to draw competencies of faculty members at graduate school faculty to implements the NCS-based curriculum. A set of competency was deductively derived from a total of three professors and consultants with more than ten-year experiences and has been involved in developing the college curriculum. The political endeavors of the Korean government toward the competency-based education have been implemented as a movement to the NCS-based curriculum. The requirements for the reorganization of curriculum and education system as well as cooperation among faculty, industry, region and development part of NCS were suggested for the activation of NCS based education and the operation of NCS. However, one of the most critical factors in introducing and implementing the NCS-based curriculum is the role of faculty members. Therefore, it is an urgent issue to equip the faculties with required competencies. Result showed that the competencies required professors at graduate school for the NCS-based curriculum implementation were classified into four areas: marco-level curriculum development; micro-level course design; knowledge across areas; and attitude across areas.

A Study on the Development of Standard Curriculum for Physical Therapy in Korea (한국 물리치료 과정의 표준교과 개발에 대한 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to suggest new strategies available for the physical therapy curriculum development. Method: The curriculum of 4 Universities in 4 countries; America, Australia, Canada and Korea was compared to suggest new curriculum. Results: Overall, curriculum in Korea emphasized skill and technique areas and didn't showed many subjects to take foundation of subject for understanding principles. The experience in clinic is not enough to satisfy international recommendation. Conclusion: We suggest that a new curriculum should be based on the three part which are foundation, essential and selection subject, and extended clinical experience to essentially need to be physical therapy in the world-standard.

  • In Australia, school education had maintained a state-based curriculum for a long time. However recently, Australia developed national curriculum and plans to implement it from 2011. It is meaningful to review why Australia tries to break with the tradition kept for many years and hand over the right to decide school curriculum from the states or territories to the nation, which is opposite from the Korean situation. Especially, because in Australia the introduction of national curriculum is regarded as one of the education revolutions, we need to investigate how the fundamental change corresponding to the 'revolution' is revealed in national curriculum. The purpose of this article is to look through process of the development and significant features about the national curriculum which Australia implements for the first time. To achieve the purpose, the article analyzes national curriculum of Australia in three ways. First, it reviews the process of introduction and development of the national curriculum. Second, the article investigates the features of curriculum guidelines and subject curriculum, focused on the structure of it. Finally, it discusses several implications that the case of Australia gives to the system of the Korean national curriculum.

  • Mathematical creativity has been confused with general creativity or mathematical problem solving ability in many studies. Also, it is considered as a special talent that only a few mathematicians and gifted students could possess. However, this paper revisited the mathematical creativity from a mathematics educator's point of view and attempted to redefine its definition. This paper proposes a model of creativity in school mathematics. It also proposes that the basis for mathematical creativity is in the understanding of basic mathematical concept and structure.

  • This study aims to explore the ways in spreading and maturing of environmental Education(EE) in secondary school. To deal with this issue, researchers investigate the actual conditions of EE and grope for the ways in spreading and maturing of EE. According to investigation, the selecting rate of environment subject in secondary school is about 3%(compared selecting rate of other subject matters) in 2003. Based on the result, this study suggests followings. First, sequencing strategy of EE curriculum will be expected very efficaciously. Secondly, there is need to empasize daily experiences of EE beyond the formal subject matter. Thirdly and ultimately, thers is need to reform school curriculum centered EE. Moreover, there is need to empasize teacher education for the environment not only pre service but also in-service teacher training.

  • This research has been studied proper physical therapy curriculum to produce 21 century physical therapist according to the change of the times by industrialization and specialization. The curriculums of 13 colleges and 5 universities was analysed. The curriculum analysis was made up the comparision and the analysis by a liberal arts point the teaching profession point a major point a clinical practice paint the rates of total opening subjects. The analyzing results were as follows: 1. A point of the credits a liberal elective subject is the small number 2. To deeping of major by spreading major foundation 3. Lack of the time for the clinical practice education.
