Purpose : To know the smoking status of regional residents and to contribute the development of smoking education program by analyzing the related characteristics and affecting variables. by convenience sampling of total 1,300 regional residents in Daegu. Method : The investigation was conducted with 1,204 residents in mid to small urban area of Gyeongsangbukdo. for 3 months from April 1, to June 30, 2007. Results : 1) The current smoking rate of test subjects was 19.3% and 63% responded as non smoker, and 17.1% of test subjects responded as currently stopped smoking. 2) The smokers' age that habitually started smoking resulted to show the highest distribution at their age of $20{\sim}29$ by including 49.3% in 446 smokers, and 39.6% in ages younger than 19 years old. 3) The subjective health status of test subjects was found to be healthy in 65.1% of nonsmokers. 4) The increase of stress along with the increase of depression significantly had large effects on smoking rate. 5) When the regression analyses were conducted, test subjects' sex, age, religion, current residing area, occupation, the level of health status, the level of stress and the level of depression found to have significant effects, and the influence of these variables was 27.4% by showing an overall significance. Conclusion : Primarily, the average smoking rate of regional residents was slightly decreased, but the smoking rate in juveniles, university students, professional workers, office workers, labor workers and women were found to be increased. Therefore smoking prevention and stop smoking policies have to be enforced with the development of more effective education programs. Secondly, the health status especially the increase of stress along with the increase of depression significantly had large effects on smoking rate. So, it is considered that the responsible government, related organizations and experts should make efforts not only for the improvement of health and but also for the establishment of stress and depression solving measures. Thirdly, the supports and willingness of government and local government for substantial practicing the development of smoking prevention and stop smoking enforcement policy education programs have to be advanced with the systematic backup as the first step of improving health of national peoples.
Various innovation theories, such as innovation system, innovation cluster, triple helix model, are different in their focus. However they all emphasize the interaction between innovation actors in order to generate, diffuse, and appropriate technological innovations successfully. This study analyzes how the interaction of innovation actors in Daedeok Innopolis has been changed since the introduction of innovation cluster policy like the designation of Daedeok Innopolis. Based on the analysis of survey data, Innopolis statistics, and patent joint-application data, we come to the conclusions that the Daedeok Innopolis has characteristics of multi-level governance structure, in which innovation cluster, i.e. Daedeok Innopolis, regional innovation system, and national innovation system directly overlap under the framework of innovation system. In addition, from the perspectives of triple helix model, we are able to verify that the inter-domain interactions between innovation actors, such as tri-lateral network, have been constantly increased in the Daedeok Innopolis. Based on our analysis, we identify some policy suggestions in order to strengthen the competitiveness of the Daedeok Innopolis as well as other innovation clusters in Korea. First, the network activities between innovation actors within innovation cluster should be strengthened based on the geographical accessibility. Second, private intermediate organizations should be established and their roles should be extended. Third, the entrepreneurial activities of universities within innovation cluster should be strengthened. In other words, the roles of universities within the Innopolis should be activated. Finally, the government should provide relevant policy supports to activate the interactions between innovation actors within innovation cluster.
The purpose of the study was to investigate the policy implication and a usage model for aging workforces of research and development field in the era of working age population decline and the introduction of the retirement age legislation. In spite the importance of the use for aging workforces of R&D, previous studies have not been taken in terms of R&D workforces. In addition, the activated policies and services was implemented for the aged and retired people. Therefore, we suggested the usage model in four folds: 1) internal employment model, which is to hire and employ pre-retired active workforces by their retirement age, 2) internal and external linkage model, which is to make them to depart from their previous workplaces and move them to new workplaces where they can apply their knowledge and skills, 3) extending retirement age model, which is to expand their age limit and provide their job opportunities after they left their work, and 4) ouplacement model, which is to provide them with employment information and service as well as operate the educational programs before they leave the workpalce. Finally, we suggested the update of legislation and law for old workers, government supports for retiring workforces, and the conversation and compromise between R&D workforces and managers of workplaces.
It is expected that interests and supports for 'the creative economy' will increase considerably since the establishment of the Park Geun Hye Administration. According to a report with respect to its cultural policy handed in by the Minister of Culture to the president on March 28, 2013, the administration will set up a basic plan of establishing regional fusion-typed laboratories including such genres as story telling, animations, games, cartoons, performances, etc. in May this year, and opening contents Korea laboratories across the country by the first quarter in 2014 as part of its core task. Furthermore, it will focus on implementing such policies for training professional manpower as creative mentoring programs, expansion of education for field employees and expansion of a creative education for young students, including a plan to train 1,000 creative contents talents by 2017 as described in the report. Since the Comics Promotional Law took effect in August 2012, the Korea Culture and Content Agency and the Comics Industry have been establishing the third plan for medium and long term development of the comics industry together. One of the most important policy is about training professional manpower. "Joint Business with Creative Talents," in which the amount of 4.5 billion won was invested, has already been implemented, and "Support Business for Field Employees of Comics Creating Enterprises," in which the amount of 0.6 billion won was invested, has been performed so far through the Korea Comics Contents Agency upon the request of the Comics Industry. The government's plan to train professional manpower is interlocked with its foundation and employment policies, and thus, this will be a good opportunity for colleges and universities that have comics related majors, especially for those that need proper measures for bring their graduates a chance to get a job. Accordingly, it seems that if the government develops more aggressive policies, reflects this on the third medium and long term development plan of the comics industry, and then organizes policy and study meetings led by the learned societies to implement this, it will be able to generate a significant synergy effect. This Article will concentrate on first examining the flow and patterns of the policy to train special manpower by the comics industry, the Ministry of Culture and related institutions since the establishment of the Comics Promotional Law, analyzing some problems in the first and second medium and long term development plan of the comics industry to be implemented from 2003 through 2013 and the third medium and long term development plan to be announced in June 2013 to train professional manpower, and then suggesting an effective direction and some alternatives to train professional manpower in universities in a medium and long term way.
Korea's trading volume is expected to surpass USD 1 trillion in 2011. Korean economy achieves this largely due to its dependence on export and enhanced technological capacity and product quality. Improved recognition of Korean enterprises in the global arena also helped. However, the largest reason behind theses could be found in exporters' ceaseless marketing endeavors and continued government supports. Today, more and more people become to rely on trade exhibitions to boost export effectively. Trade exhibitions are employed as a useful tool to attract buyers and enter a market. This is because such exhibitions' marketing effect and professional aspects. South Korean export relies on large conglomerates for most part. However, 95% of the country's entire industry are small and medium-sized companies. This means that SMEs' export has a huge impact on the national economy. Therefore, as a way to improve SME export and minimize their losses, we need to use trade exhibitions more actively. The overseas policy insures only promotional activities regarding foreign exhibition and fair (including international events held in Korea), foreign distributor, shopping mall, home shopping, etc. and does not include air fare, traffic cost in the local place, accommodation cost and dining expenditures as costs to be excluded mentioned above. It is not easy for them to take part in events abroad if they have to pay for such expenses. If full financial support is difficult, the Korea trade insurance corporation still may give a certain level of aid for successful exporters to engage in marketing activities abroad more actively and further stimulate SMEs' export.

Hydrogen energy begins to grab the attention as a leading alternative to solve environmental pollution and energy issue. The preparation for the hydrogen energy age is at the primary stage. But it is expected that the utilization of hydrogen energy is a feasible objective through government policy and invigoration of studies in relevant fields of industry. The preparation and research are badly in need to equip a ship with hydrogen energy engine. Some researches on ship with fuel cell are in progress, however, considering a ship that has become larger and it is being operated in special circumstances, the researches on ship with hydrogen energy engine is keenly necessary. And more concerns and supports are required in this regard.
Weak competitive Small Business are getting attention for their ability to enhance the brand power and marketing co-brand. Under these circumstances, in this study examined the operational status of the domestic co-branded. Also enable co-branding strategy was proposed. First, learn the various aspects of the concept of co-branding, and looked at the advantages and disadvantages of co-branding. Second, the type of co-branded partner combined, joint venture between companies Union type, a leading company driven and private companies and state agencies co-branded. Looked at the type of advantages and disadvantages of each. Thirdly, we presented the current status of the important co-branded domestic. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between the sexual knowledge and contraceptive attitude and gender sensitivity of the nursing students. The data were collected from 169 nursing students from November 2019 to December 2019 at U city and analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression. As a result of this study, the contraceptive attitude of nursing students showed a positive relationship with gender sensitivity(r=0.357, p<0.001), and it was the factor that affected gender sensitivity(β=0.356, p<0.001). Therefore, it is necessary to make and apply the programs to enhance the gender sensitivity for the nursing students, and the college and the government supports are required to increase the contraceptive attitude.
This paper examines university patenting activities as a commercialization of academic research. It shows how a number of university patents increase exponentially and how that can be, especially in terms of role of the state. In the late 1990, the Korean government supports the new vision of 'technological innovation' in establishing a science and technological policy and begins to perceive the importance of university R&D to overcome the economic crisis. Thus, an administrative, financial, and legal systems which support the university R&D are organized and the governmental grants for R&D increase exponentially, especially in promising new technologies(6T). Also, an institution for managing intellectual property rights is established in university. Universities assess professor's performance in terms of patent and license to encourage patenting activities. Thus the number of patents and its productivity increase exponentially. But the increase in patents takes place only to a dozen of universities, this means that a Matthew effect does work.
Purpose - This paper empirically investigates the relationship between the corporate value chain and performance of non- financial businesses of South Korean stock market companies. It aims to explore the evidence that can be used to infer the relationship between value chains and corporate performance in the case of firms forming a value chain with other companies with the means of an equity investment or a special business relationship. Design/methodology - Non-financial corporations listed from 2011 to 2017 on the securities market of South Korea are analyzed. The data used for analysis are found for transactions with the related party by year for all the corporations of non-financial industries in the securities market. Multiple analysis attempts are conducted including the relationship between the value chain and productivity, corporate value, risk-adjusted corporate value, and mediation effects of productivity. The empirical model employs sixteen variables including the value chain index which identifies its impact on various aspects of business performances. Findings - The results of this study clearly supports the phenomenon that corporate productivity and value are enhanced when the corporation expands its value chain established with domestic related firms and overseas companies. Such a positive effect is statistically significant even after the possible risk factors that accompany the expansion of value chain were considered, and productivity plays the role as a medicating variable in the effect of the value chain on the corporation values. Originality/value - The findings of this study confirms that domestic companies' expansion of their value chain centered on the related firms overseas that helped them in terms of the maximization of their productivity and corporate values. This study shows that Korean government's policy on expanding the corporate GVC can enhance the productivity and value of firms. The expansion of value chain and its impact on business performance has not been explored thoroughly, although it is getting more and more important in the global trade operation.
