백화점 판매원의 목표지향성과 성과에 미치는 판매관리자의 영향: 패션제품 판매원을 중심으로 (The Effects of Supervisors on Goal Orientations and Sales Performance of Department Store Salespeople)

  • This study investigated the effects of sales supervisors on salespeople's goal orientations and sales performance in fashion retail setting. Specifically, it examined: 1) the differences in salespeople's goal orientations by salespeople characteristics; 2) the effects of supervisor's behavioral orientations on goal orientations of salespeople; and 3) the effects of salespeople's goal orientations on performance. A total of 343 questionnaires collected from salespeople in various apparel and accessory selling departments at four department stores in Korean were analyzed. Variables included supervisor's behavioral orientations(end-results, activity and capability), salespeople's goal orientations(learning and performance), sales performance and salespeople characteristics. MANOVA revealed that three was no difference in goal orientations by salespeople characteristics except by selling department. Multiple regression analysis revealed that supervisor's end-result orientation affected salespeople's learning orientation and performance orientation while activity and capability orientations did not. The study suggests that for long-term performance supervisors and retail organizations need to develop various supervisory behaviors, stimulate learning demands of salespeople, and provide training programs to achieve the learning goal.

초등학교 예비교사의 교수목표 지향성과 과학 수업 이미지 사이의 관계 (The Relationships between the Preservice Elementary Teachers' Goal Orientations for Science Teaching and Their Images of Science Class)

  • The preservice elementary teachers' goal orientations for science teaching (mastery/ability-approach/ ability-avoidance/work-avoidance goal) were measured. We also examined how the goal orientations were related to their images of science class (preferred/avoided). The results showed that the student teachers (75 males and 82 females) tended to have the mastery or ability-approach goals rather than the ability-avoidance or work-avoidance goals for science teaching. For avoided class, they tended to show teacher-centered components (eg., teacher: lecturing, students: watching and listening, environment: chalkboard), while rarely to show such teacher-centered components for preferred class. Regarding the relationships between the goal orientations and the images of science class, the significantly positive relationship was found between the ability-approach goal orientation and teacher-centered image of avoided class. However, the teacher-centered image for preferred class was positively related to the ability-avoidance goal orientation. The educational implications and future directions were discussed.

A Survey of Japanese University Students' Future Use of English Goal Orientations

  • The aim of this study is to present preliminary results from an ongoing large-scale study of English-language future goal orientations held by Japanese university students. The work here involves an investigation of learners in multiple disciplines, from five universities, both public and private, in the Kanto-region of Japan, and their perspective on their future use of English. The results summarize written essays on L2-goal orientations. Preliminary results indicate Japanese learners (n = 629) as a whole have disparate L2-learning goals; however, these can be summarized into four broad categories: career, personal life, study, and general; and early findings indicate that most learners (63.56%) are oriented to career or personal goal orientations, while others are oriented to study and general. These early results help us to gain a better understanding of the future goals of Japanese university learners and their views of English usage in the future.

초등학교 예비교사의 과학 교수 목표 지향성과 교수 효능감 (The Preservice Elementary Teachers' Achievement Goal Orientations for Science Teaching and Their Science Teaching Efficacy Belief)

  • The preservice elementary teachers' achievement goal orientations(mastery/ability-approach/ability-avoidance/work-avoidance goal) for science teaching were measured. The student teachers(91 males and 127 females) tended to have the mastery or ability-approach goals rather than the ability-avoidance or work-avoidance goals for science teaching. The male students were more learning focused than were the females, while the female students reported stronger work-avoidance goal orientation than did the males. This study also examined how the preservice teachers' achievement goal orientations were related to their science teaching efficacy beliefs(personal science teaching efficacy belief/science teaching outcome expectancy). As expected, the results showed that there were significantly positive relationships between the mastery or ability-approach goals and science teaching efficacy beliefs, while the significantly negative relationships were found between the ability-avoidance or work-avoidance goal and personal science teaching efficacy belief. The educational implications and future directions were discussed.

자기효능감 및 교실맥락, 도움회피 태도가 초등학생의 도움요청 행동에 미치는 영향 (The Effects of Students' Self Efficacy, Classroom Contextual Characteristics and Help-avoidance Attitudes on Academic Help-seeking Behavior)

  • This study explored the effects of self efficacy, classroom contextual characteristics and help-avoidance attitudes on academic help-seeking behavior. Participants were 210 4th grade students. Data were analyzed by Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression analysis through the SPSSWIN 12.0. Results showed that students' self efficacy, perception of teacher behavior and goal orientations were positively related to help-seeking behaviors. Help-avoidance attitudes were negatively related to help-seeking behaviors. Cognitive efficacy and social-emotional efficacy facilitated help-seeking behaviors. Help-seeking behaviors were influenced by teacher's supportive help and expectation. Mastery goal orientations and performance-approach goal orientations promoted help-seeking behaviors but performance-avoidance goal orientations impeded help-seeking behaviors. Autonomous intention attitudes expedited help-seeking behaviors but intention based on ability diminished help-seeking behaviors.

한 종합병원 구성원의 경영목표 지향성의 구조적 모형과 선호 경영성과지표 (A Structural Model of Management Goal Orientations and Preferred Goal Achievement Index in one Hospital Employees)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify a determent of mastery approach goal and performance approach goal using a basic concept of goal orientations and goal setting theory, and to evaluate a preference of goal achievement index as a balance score card (BSC). The study model proposed had a adoptable level of goodness of fit index(.94) and root mean square residual(.08). The meditating variable, goal contribution, totally mediated the impact of goal commitment, Y-theory human behavior, and self-efficacy but organizational resource contribution for pursuing goal orientation. Moreover, goal contribution significantly determined mastery approach goal(p<.01) and performance approach goal(.05). In standardized effects, the most powerful antecedent of mastery approach goal and performance approach goal were in order of organizational resource contribution(.27/.28), goal contribution(.21/.17), self-efficacy(.07/.06), and Y -theory human behavior and goal commitment(.05/.05), respectively. Moreover, goal contribution had a more powerful impact on mastery approach goal(.21) rather than performance approach goal(.17). In the preference of BSC, all job types preferred learning and growth index in first. In the second preference, medical doctors and pharmacists chose financial results, nurses customer service, and office managers internal processes. Each job type reflected its' own preferred BSC index to that of the other job types. In comparing a preference of four BSC index of each own job type, it was statistically different at p<.001. In conclusion, one who emphasize organizational goal contribution in pursuing goal orientation has a more strong orientation toward mastery approach goal rather than performance approach goal. A hospital should overcome and harmonize the different preferences of four BSC index since the differences might cause organizational conflicts among job types with having each unique professional norm.

골프참여자의 코치지원과 성취목표성향 및 참여지속의도의 관계 (The Relationship among Coach Support, Achievement Goal Orientations and Continuous Participation Intention for Golf Participants)

  • 본 연구는 골프연습장 이용객을 대상으로 골프 참여자의 코치지원과 성취목표성향 및 참여지속의도에는 어떠한 관계가 있는지 규명하는데 목적이 있다. 본 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위하여 SPSS 18.0과 AMOS 18.0을 이용하여 빈도분석, 탐색적 요인분석, 확인적 요인분석, 신뢰도분석과 상관관계분석을 실시하였고 모형을 설정한 뒤 구조방적식모형(SEM)을 통하여 변인간의 인과적 관계를 규명하였다. 이상과 같은 연구방법과 연구모형 검증을 기초로 하여 본 연구에서 도출된 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 골프 참여자들의 코치지원은 성취목표성향에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 골프 참여자들의 성취목표성향은 참여지속의도에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 골프 참여자의 코치지원은 참여지속의도에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 골프 참여자의 코치지원과 참여지속의도의 관계에서 성취목표성향은 매개하는 것으로 나타났다. 골프참여자들이 골프를 통해 신체적, 심리적 건강효과를 증진시키고 나아가 골프 기술습득이나 기량향상 등의 성취감을 만들어 성취목표성향이 높아진다면, 보다 나은 삶의 질을 영위할 수 있을 것이다.

  • Scientific space, one can observe the differentiation of the definition of the terms "value", "value orientations" because it does not yet have a clear standard definition. Many researchers have dealt with this topic, researched, analyzed, observed, and made conclusions. However, there is still a rich scope for research of such phenomena of personal structure as value orientations. Psychologists-researchers who, in their scientific, practical, and theoretical works, dealt with the topic of values and value orientations and came to the general conclusion that values are a structural component of a personality, with the help of which a person achieves a goal, sets this goal, and characterizes position in life. Saw the relationship between values and the basic structures of the personality, including value orientations-considered in values a system of orientation and personality attitudes.

목표 지향성과 서비스 지향적인 조직시민행동 간의 관계 - 특 1급 호텔 근무자를 중심으로 - (The Relationship between Goal Orientation and Service-Oriented Organizational Citizenship Behaviors - A Case of Five Star Deluxe Hotel Employees -)

  • 호텔 업계에서 고객접점 직원들의 서비스 지향적인 조직시민행동의 선행요인에 관한 연구의 필요성이 제기되어, 본 연구는 목표지향성을 선행요인으로 하여, 서비스 지향적인 조직시민행동에 미치는 영향에 관하여 연구하고자 실시하였다. 선행연구를 바탕으로 하여, 목표지향성은 성취-목표 지향성과 배움-목표 지향성으로 나누어졌으며 이 요인들과 서비스 지향적인 조직시민행동의 하위요인(충성도, 서비스 전달, 참여성) 간의 관계 가설이 설정되었다. 특 1급 호텔 직원 266명의 설문이 분석되었다. 분석을 위해, SPSS 19.0과 AMOS 20.0을 이용하여 기술통계분석, 다변량분석, 구조방정식 모형분석이 실시되었다. 그 결과, 배움-목표 지향성은 충성도, 서비스 전달, 참여성 모두에게 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 반면, 성취-목표 지향성은 충성도를 제외한 두 하위 요인에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는, 호텔 경영인들이 특정한 목표를 진심으로 지향하는 지원자를 발굴할 필요성을 시사한다. 나아가, 호텔조직은 구성원들의 목표지향성을 이용해서, 그들의 성과 향상에 동기를 부여할 필요성을 제시한다.

판매원의 적응판매행동에 대한 목적지향성의 효과: 판매관리자 지향성 및 동료 피드백의 역할 (The Effects of Salesperson's Goal Orientations on Adaptive Selling: The Roles of Supervisory Orientations and Coworker Feedbacks)

  • 본 연구에서는 판매원의 적응판매(adaptive selling)에 미치는 목적지향성(goal orientation)의 효과를 검증하였다. 판매원의 목적지향성에 영향을 미치는 요소로서 판매관리자 지향성(supervisory orientation)과 동료 피드백(coworker feedback)을 고려하였다. 판매관리자 지향성온 최종성과 지향성(end-results orientation)과 능력지향성(equability orientation)으로 구분하였고, 동료 피드백은 행동피드백(behavioral feedback)과 실적피드백(output feedback)으로 구분하였다. 판매원의 목적지향성은 학습지향성(teaming orientation)과 성과지향성 (performance orientation)으로 구분하였다. 이들 개념들 간의 관계를 가설로 설정한 후, 자동차 영업사원을 대상으로 실증분석을 하였다. 분석결과, 판매관리자의 최종성과지향성은 판매원의 학습지향성 및 성과지향성에 정적인 영향을 미치고, 동료의 실적피드백은 판매원의 성과지향에 정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 판매원의 학습지향성은 적응판매에 정적인 영향을 미치나, 성과지향성에는 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과를 토대로 관리적 시사점을 제시하였다.
