Practice level of nutritional knowledge was significantly higher in girls compared to boys (p<0.001). To establish good eating behaviors, we should develop systematic and continuous education programs.

  • Purpose: This study was done to identify contraceptive practices in adolescent girls in South Korea and predictors of contraceptive practices. Methods: The study sample included 743 girls who had experienced sexual activity. Using statistics from the 12th (2016) Korea Youth Risk Behavior Web-based Survey, hierarchical logistic regression analysis was conducted. Results: The contraceptive practice rate for adolescent girls was 34%. Contraceptive practice was associated with 'age at first intercourse' and 'sexual intercourse after drinking'. For adolescent girls who had early sexual initiation and drank alcohol before sexual intercourse there was a tendency to reduce the practice of contraception. Conclusion: It is necessary to provide practical sex education to improve the practice of contraception in these adolescents. In addition, adolescent girls should be encourage to delay their first intercourse. The results of this study can also be used to develop education interventions regarding healthy sexuality behaviour including the practice of contraception.

  • The purpose of the present study was to investigate the relationship between spatial ability and sex-role orientation in children. For this purpose, 303 boys and 293 girls were selected randomly. Spatial ability was measured by Embedded Figures Test. Sex-Role orientation was measured by the Children's Personal Attributes Questionnaire (Spence, Helmreich & Stapp, 1975) which was translated into Korean. An item analysis was done. For the data analysis, a three-way analysis of variance and t-test were applied. The results of the present study showed that 1) spatial ability gradually improved between 10 and 14 years of age. 2) There were no significant differences between girls and boys in the performance on the spatial ability test. 3) Masculinity in girls was not significantly associated with high spatial ability. However, there was a tendency for the masculine girls in the direction of higher spatial scores than feminine girls and undifferentiated girls. 4) Femininity in boys was not significantly associated with high spatial ability. However, there was a tendency for the feminine boys in the direction of higher spatial scores than masculine boys and undifferentiated boys.

According to the result of comparing the fit of ready-to-wear garment by items, the fit of clothing for girls at the age of puberty gets relatively worse with the increase of age in all items except one-piece. As for the fit by parts of ready-to-wear garment, significant differences were observed according to age in the length of sleeve, crotch and the length of upper garments. Maternal distress reactions were correlated with girls' prosocial behaviors; maternal punitive responses were related to girls' prosocial and withdrawn behaviors. Maternal emotion-focused responses were associated with girls' aggressive behaviors. • the purpose of this study was to consider the lower bodyshape factor of girls according to their age groups. The subject were 150 Korean Elementary School Girls and 150 Korean Junior High School Girls. The subjects were directly measured anthropometrically. In first group(Elementary School Girls) the result of factor analysis indicated that 7 factors were extracted through factor analysis and those factors comprise 83.1% of total variance and in second group (Junior High School Girls) 8 factors were extracted through factor analysis and those factors comprise 79.9% of total variance. Lower bodyshape factors were different to each groups. So these systematic information on typical bodyshape were provide to reduce the burden of stocks and increase clothing fitness.
