Tools and methods for interacting with the virtual environment are essential in order for a student to perform the virtual reality education contents. However, since the developed controller has generally been constructed for adults, it is necessary to study interaction tools considering the purpose of education and the level of students. Therefore, this study analyzed elementary and middle school students' perceptions of HMD and interactive tools, which are currently widely used as an initial research for developing interactive tools. Results show that students' perceptions has increased in post-questionnaire compared to pre-questionnaire, indicating that the universal controller can be used in the education. Implications for the development of interaction tools are discussed based on interviews with students.
It is crucial to understand the characteristics of learner questioning due to the effects it has on learning. This study focuses on the effects of middle school students questioning on their academic achievement in an online inquiry learning environment. A survey of 827 middle school students was conducted; the students took part in an online math and science program offered by a center for the gifted. Throughout the survey, learner questioning was analyzed, and its correlation with academic achievement was investigated. An analysis was based on questioning categories of a low- and high-level questions from previous studies. Through the survey, it was found that the number of learner questions asked in the online environment was small, but the number of low- and high-level questions were almost equal. Secondly, the higher the academic achievement level of the student, the higher the possibility they would ask either low- or high-level questions. Lastly the group of students in both low- and high-levels of questioning earned the highest average scores on formative evaluations and inquiry tasks. This indicates that regardless of the level of questions, the act of questioning itself is highly related to the academic achievement. However, in the case of advanced learning projects, the quality of questioning and high-level questioning affected the academic achievement of students. Based on these results, implications for the encouragement of learner questioning and support for asking high-level question are suggested.
The purpose of this study is to analyze recently developed tools and relevant literature in order to discuss development scheme of augmented reality-based programming tools targeting elementary school students. Literature review draws conclusion that touch mode in the mobile augmented reality is effective, especially in the environment where manipulates commands and it is required to design contents taking class environment and teaching-learning strategy into account. Such research findings indicate that augmented reality-based programming tools targeting elementary school students should be designed to increase their interest in programming in a way that when physical teaching materials or specific space are recognized, the programmed problems will be augmented to allow students to combine the commands in the augmented environment.

It is necessary to accumulate the studies on the practical learning and teaching for the Mathematical talent education in elementary school. In this study, I set the 4th grade children mathematically gifted in elementary school to pose the various number calculating formulars, 4 4 4 4 = 0, 1, 2,$\cdots$10, by using to +, -, ${\times}$, $\div$, ( ). And I analysed their products. In 2007, I gave the same task to 5th graders and got a significant result. To expand the target of my study, I used the same investigating method for children of different graders. As a result, I conclude that math brains in 4th grade also can create various many number calculating formulas. I find that children pose to various many calaulating formulars becoming 0, 1, 8, 4 in order whereas they pose to a little calaulating formulars becoming 10, 6, 5, 9 orderly. Most errors are due to the order of calculation or confusion about parenthesis. This study contributes to test methods and text development for math brains in elementary school.
As a cultivar of Korean wheat, 'Keumgang' wheat variety has a fast growth period and can be grown stably. Hexaploid wheat (Triticum aestivum) has moderately high salt tolerance compared to tetraploid wheat (Triticum turgidum L.). However, the molecular mechanisms related to salt tolerance of hexaploid wheat have not been elucidated yet. In this study, the candidate genes related to salt tolerance were identified by investigating the genes that are differently expressed in Keumgang variety and examining salt tolerant mutation '2020-s1340.'. A total of 85,771,537 reads were obtained after quality filtering using NextSeq 500 Illumina sequencing technology. A total of 23,634,438 reads were aligned with the NCBI Campala Lr22a pseudomolecule v5 reference genome (Triticum aestivum). A total of 282 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified in the two Triticum aestivum materials. These DEGs have functions, including salt tolerance related traits such as 'wall-associated receptor kinase-like 8', 'cytochrome P450', '6-phosphofructokinase 2'. In addition, the identified DEGs were classified into three categories, including biological process, molecular function, cellular component using gene ontology analysis. These DEGs were enriched significantly for terms such as the 'copper ion transport', 'oxidation-reduction process', 'alternative oxidase activity'. These results, which were obtained using RNA-seq analysis, will improve our understanding of salt tolerance of wheat. Moreover, this study will be a useful resource for breeding wheat varieties with improved salt tolerance using molecular breeding technology.

The study aims to analyze Thomas Young's problem solving processes of analogical reasoning during the formation of the interference theory of light, and to draw its implications for secondary science education, particularly for enhancing creativity in science. The research method employed in the study was literature review of the papers which Young himself had written about sound wave and property of light. His thinking processes and specific features in his thought that were obtained through analysis of his papers about light are as follows: Young reconsidered Newton's experiments and observations, and reinterpreted Newton's results in the new viewpoints. Through this analysis, Young discovered that Newton's interpretation about his own experiments and observations was faulty in a certain point of view and new interpretation is necessary. Based on the data, it is hypothesized that colors observed on thin plates and colors appeared repeatedly on Newton's ring are appeared because of the effect of light interference. Young used analogical reasoning during the process of inference of similarity between sound and light. And he formulated an hypothesis on the interference of light through using abductive reasoning from interference of water wave, and proved the hypothesis by constructing an creative experimental device, which is called a critical experiment. It is implicated that the analogical reasoning and experimental devices for explaining the light interference which Young created and used can be utilized for school science education enhancing creativity in science.
Although it is widely acknowledged that enhancing creativity is an important educational theme on which schools should depend and embody their educational goal and activities, how to do it can be characterized as 'piecemeal' without a whole picture of it. Thus, school practices of creativity education has been disoriented, discontinuous, short-term, and peripheral in nature. In this practical context, a theoretical model of creativity education was developed in ways in which several theoretical concepts based on research findings on a variety of aspects of creativity education were compiled and organized. The core of the model was creative problem solving process to which the goals and the mediating variables of creativity education were connected in relational fashion. By giving repetitive opportunities for creative problem solving geared to producing the results that are novel and useful for the individual as well as the socity, it was conceptualized that two educational goals could be achieved: a short-term goal of developing creative potential of the individual and the long-term goals of self-actualization of the individual and contribution to the society. It is also conceptualized that creative problem solving can be influenced in positive manner by several mediating variables: content knowledge and skills, creative cognition, creative motivation and attitudes, and creative environment. The creative environment is composed of psychological and physical conditions and provides a basis for creativity education. The former three variables are conceptualized as necessary conditions for the effectiveness and efficiency of creative problem solving, when provided appropriately. The four mediating variables ware conceptualized as mutually affecting so that the development of one variable influences positively that of the other, and vice versa. In terms of practical perspective of teaching creativity, developing creative potential, self-actualization, and contribution to society are the goals; creative problem solving process is the methodology; content knowledge and skills, creative cognition, and creative motivation and attitudes are the content; and creative environment is the condition of creativity education. The model is not yet perfect but needs further explorations to make it more detailed in clarifying various relationships. For instance, how the creative problem solving process can be differentiated in teaching various subject matters is yet to be explored. Thus, the model proposed in this study should be regarded as a general model of creativity education, and is relatively sound to be adopted in school practices since it is based on the theoretical as well as empirical study findings on creativity. However, the proposed model needs to be validated through empirical researches in real teaching settings.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the characteristics of preschoolers' giftedness by their parents' perception. Total 3 groups of 148 subjects from age 30 months to 6 years 10 months old young gifted children's parents participated. The major findings were as follows : (1) There were critical characteristics of preschoolers' giftedness by parents' perception, which were 'good memory', 'high curiosity', 'read and understand of math', 'enjoy of learning and high motivation', 'high concentration', reading books', 'verbal ability', 'creativity', 'questions', and 'independency', (2) These characteristics of preschoolers' giftedness showed more strong and intense as they got older, and (3) Some characteristics revealed more, but the other characteristics revealed less as they got older. These findings suggested the consideration of child's age as the reliable identification process of young gifted children.

This study is aimed at developing a curriculum in relation to programming learning by using robot, for it has been judged as a scientific learning tool to help elementary school children as well as gifted children among them improve their creativity. Based on this concept, teaching aids and materials were developed, and then applied to the locale of education, and results therefrom were analyzed ccordingly. Curriculum and contents of teaching aids were classified into two processes, i.e. the assembling process of robot to fit the varied problematic situations and the programming process (all six phases), and edited so much as to entice elementary school children to get interests and attentions to robot and programming by compiling the contents to suit their level of learning. Results from the evaluation of the application of robot education curriculum to the locale for learning revealed that it was a positive teaching tool that helped children improve their creativity. Also conclusions were derived from the analysis and evaluation that several aspects should be complemented as for teaching and learning tool to achieve the objective of excellence education.
This study dealt with the measurements of the positive psychological experience of high school students in relation to mathematics learning by using PPE-M. The purpose of this study is to compare the positive psychology of the high school students based on the grade and gender variables. Measured data for the purpose of this study examined the difference between the gifted students and the general students through a t-test. In addition, differences were analyzed by grade and gender variables. And One-way ANOVA was conducted to see the difference according to the course variables. The difference between the two groups was meaningful in PPE-M total score. There was meaningful difference in all of 5 areas and 19 factors except for 4 factors (Insight, Honesty, Full with pride, and Achievement). However, there was no difference according to grade levels. The comparison between the gender in the ordinary students shows meaningful difference in 11 factors, not in 12 (Judgment, Insight, Honesty, Prudence, Modesty & Kindness, Gratitude & Happiness, Flow, Superiority feeling, Achievement, High pleasure, Full with pride, and Self-efficacy). Affiliation makes meaningful difference in 22 factors except for Honesty.
