한국형발사체 액체로켓엔진 시스템 (Liquid Rocket Engine System of Korean Launch Vehicle)

  • 한국형 발사체 (KSLV-II, Korea Space Launch Vehicle II)에 적용될 액체로켓엔진의 시스템 설계를 수행하였다. 진공 추력 76톤, 진공 비추력 297 sec인 본 엔진은 가스발생기 사이클로 터보펌프 가압방식을 적용한다. 연소기는 재생냉각형이며 연소압 60 bar이다. 추진제는 액체산소/케로신 조합이다. 엔진 시동은 파이로시동기를 이용하며 연소기 점화는 TEA (TriEthylAluminium)를 사용한다. 에너지 밸런스 해석을 통해서 엔진 시스템 성능과 서브시스템 요구 성능을 결정하였다. 연소압, 비추력 및 엔진무게의 적정성을 사례분석을 통하여 평가하였다. 터보펌프-가스발생기 연계시험과 비교하여 시동 해석방법을 검증함으로써 향후 적용을 위한 준비를 마쳤다. 본 엔진은 능동제어를 적용하지 않으며 모드해석과 분산해석을 통해서 성능 보정 방안을 확정하였다.

풍력터빈 PM형 동기발전기의 와전류손실과 열 해석에 관한 연구 (A Study on Rotor Eddy Current Loss and Thermal Analysis of PM Synchronous Generator for Wind Turbine)

  • In this paper, eddy current loss, iron loss and heat transfer of PMSG with 2,000kW capacities were analyzed for wind turbine. The PMSG with 3 split magnet was analyzed using ansoft maxwell commercial program and, generator was tested by Back to Back converter with no load condition at laboratory. Rotor surface temperature was measured by Pt100 sensors for investigating heat transfer from rotor to atmosphere. The simulation results shows 27.4kW eddy current loss in no load condition and 50.2kW eddy current loss in rated load condition with 3 split magnet, and also shows 4.3kW iron loss in no load condition and 7.3kW iron loss rated load condition. The heat transfer coefficient of convection between rotor surface and atmosphere was investigated by $9.6W/m^2{\cdot}K$. Therefore the heat transfer from rotor to atmosphere was about 17kW(54%) and from rotor to air-gap was about 14.6kW(46%) in no load condition. It is identified that the cooling system for stator have to include the 46% of iron loss, and heat dissipation structure of rotor surface have to be suggested and designed for efficiency improvement of generator.

100마력 고온초전도 동기전동기 개발 (Development of a 100 hp HTS Synchronous Motor)

  • Korea Electrotechnology Research Institute(KERI) has successfully developed a 100hp-1800rpm-class high temperature superconducting(HTS) motor with high efficiency under partnership with Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction Co. Ltd. This motor has a HTS field winding and an air-cooled stator. The advantages of HTS motor can be represented by a reduction of 50% in both losses and size compared to conventional motors of the same rating. The cooling system is based on the heat transfer mechanism of the thermosyphon by using GM cryocooler as cooling source. The cold head is in contact with the condenser of a Ne-filled thermosyphon. Independently, the rotor assembly was tested at the stationary state and combined with stator. The HTS field winding could be cooled into below 30K. Test of open-circuit characteristics(OCC) and short-circuit characteristics(SCC) and load test with resistive load bank were conducted in generator mode. Also, load tests in motor mode driven by inverter were finished at KERI. Maximum operating current of field winding at 30K was 120A. From OCC and SCC test results synchronous inductance and synchronous reactance were 2.4mH, 0.49pu, respectively. Efficiency of this HTS machine was 93.3% in full load(100hp) test. This paper will present design, construction. and experimental test results of the 100hp HTS machine.

풍력 터빈용 750 kW 급 고온초전도 발전기 모듈의 코일 구조 설계 및 열 해석 (Structural Design and Thermal Analysis of a Module Coil for a 750 kW-Class High Temperature Superconducting Generator for Wind Turbine)

  • 많은 풍력회사들은 큰 용량, 작은 크기 및 가벼운 무게의 풍력 발전기를 개발하기 위해 노력해 왔다. 고온초전도 풍력발전기는 기존의 풍력 발전기에 비해 부피와 중량을 줄일 수 있기 때문에 풍력 발전시스템에 더 적합하다. 그러나 고온초전도 발전기는 큰 진공 용기 및 계자 코일의 유지 보수가 어려운 문제를 가지고 있다. 이러한 문제는 고온초전도 계자 코일의 모듈화를 통해 해소될 수 있다. 그런데 고온초전도 모듈 코일에는 직류 전류를 전달하기 위한 전류 리드가 필요하며, 이는 큰 열전달 부하를 발생시킨다. 따라서 전류 리드는 전도 및 Joule 열 부하를 줄이기 위해 최적으로 설계되어야 한다. 본 논문에서는 750 kW급 고온초전도 발전기에 대한 모듈 코일의 구조 설계 및 열 해석을 다루었다. 모듈 코일의 전도 및 복사열 해석은 3D 유한요소법 프로그램을 사용하여 분석하였으며, 그 결과 총 열부하는 극저온 냉각장치의 냉각 용량보다 작았다. 본 논문에서 제시한 설계 및 해석결과는 풍력 발전시스템의 초전도 발전기 개발에 효과적으로 활용할 수 있을 것이다.

  • Hyperthermia for the treatment of cancer has been introduced for a long time and the biological effect for the use of hyperthermia to malignant tumors has been well established and encouraging clinical results has been observed. Unfortunately, the engineering or technical aspects of hyperthermia for the deep seated tumors has not been satisfactory. We have researched and developed the radiofrequency capacitive hyperthermia system (GHT- RF8). It was composed with 8-9 MHZ RF generator, capacitive electrode, matching system, cooling system, temperature measuring system and control computer. The thermal profile was investigated in agar phantom, animals and in human tumors, which was heated with capacitive RF device.

  • This paper treats TEGS(Thermo-Electric Generation System) by using two different metals which have N and P types of thermo-electric characteristics respectively. Heat source is the thermal energy from the oxidative reaction of methanol and catalyst. Heat sink is an air cooling system (fan and heat sink). 4 TEMS of $40{\times}40mm$ of TEGS with 500ml methanol produce the electric power of maximum 6W and average 5W for 9 hours.

  • Generally superconducting generators(S. G.'s) will be classified into 2 types according to their field coil shape. The first one is race-trace type and the other is saddle type. Race-track type S.G.'s have almost the same structure with conventional salient pole generators which are being used as largely small scale machines with more than 4 poles. On the other hand saddle type S.G.'s correspond to conventional cylindrical generators with 2 poles used for large turbines in power plants. In this paper 1MVA S.G. with saddle type field coil is electromagnetically designed and based on the research results from development of 30kVA S.G. with race-track type field oils in our group. other parts such as cooling systems and power leads are presented.

  • The Development of A.C. Induction Motor for Railway Rolling Stock. The traction motor is designed as 4-pole induction motor with self ventilation. The winding insulation is throughout of materials of class C. The rotor is designed as a squrrel rotor with copper bar and casting. The rotor speed is detected by means of a pulse generator. The newer tection motor have no casting(frame). Punched-in holes make up the air duct and transfer the heat losses in complete. Maximim motor rpm is higher due to rotor construction. New is the entry of water-cooled traction motors in urban, However the water cooling design in - unfortunately - not applicable in traction motor.

  • Ionic wind may be produced by DC corona discharges. In this work, the electrical effect has studied to evaluate applicability in fields of electrostatic cooling, ozone generation, electrostatic precipitation, heat transfer, air flow modification, and etc. The ionic wind velocity was measured as a function of the distance of pin to plate and the diameter of punched hole. The pin to punched-plate electrode generates airflow from pin to plate and the flow direction is controlled by the hole size of punched-plate, input voltage and distance between two electrodes. As a consequence, the ionic wind velocity is nearly proportional to the applied voltages and ranges from 1 to 3 m/sec.

  • A new advanced integral reactor of 330 MWt thermal capacity named SMART (System-Integrated Modular Advanced Reactor) is currently under development in Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) for multi-purpose applications. Modular once-through steam generator (SG) and self-pressurizing pressurizer equipped with wet thermal insulator and cooler are essential components of the SMART. The SMART Provides safety systems such as Passive Residual Heat Removal System (PRHRS). In this study, a computer code for performance analysis of the PRHRS is developed by modeling relevant components and systems of the SMART. Using this computer code, a performance analysis of the PRHRS is performed in order to check whether the passive cooling concept using the PRHRS is feasible. The results of the analysis show that PRHRDS of the SMART has excellent passive heat removal characteristics.
