  • Domestic game companies are competitive in developing on-line 2D game contents. However, they have difficulties in maintaining the competitive edge in the area of on-line 3D game technologies owing to the limited funds and technologies. The 3D on-line game engine technologies we have intended to propose in this research are highly expected to be the key technologies ensuring the competitive edge over other countries. For this, we propose a full 3D online game engine that reflects the cutting edge technologies trend in the computer gaming industry. Our game engine is integrated with rendering and animation core technologies to visualize the game world, and provides stable network service through the Internet using server technologies.

  • In recent years, studies in BCI game with popular BCI devices are progressing actively by the development of BCI(Brain Computer Interface) techniques. Most of BCI games have developed as experimental contents for researching. On the game control paradigm, it is insufficient to conduct a study about induced methods of proper barinwave to control the BCI game. In this study, we suggest a rhythm game using BCI which has a new play element that visualizes the rhythm of music and represents the notes of music in sound and a generation method of visual-auditory feedback through the synchronization of the tempo of music with brainwave. Experimental Results make certain that our suggestion is possible for the improvement of game score through the induction of brainwave that is necessary to control the game.

New online games have been introduced every month and the numbers of game players who are playing online games have grown rapidly. However, only a few online games have been successful in making a good profit among many online games. Why are most players playing only a few online games repeatedly? This research hypothesizes that customer loyalty for specific online game can be increased by customers' optimal experience(flow) in playing it, and they would feel optimal experience because of mechanic and social interaction in online games. In order to validate the hypothesis, this research analyzes online survey data of players of various online games. According to this survey results, players' optimal experience is affected by their mechanic interaction between a player and an online game system, and their social interaction with other players who participated in the online game. And their optimal experience during playing the online game affects the degree of customer loyalty to the game. This paper ends with conclusions of the survey results and study limits.
