The results of examining selection of optimal mycelial growth condition excellent strain for determining the condition of Pleurotus cornucopiae are as follows. 1) Mycelial growth and density of P. cornucopiae were the highest in the medium of MCM(87.8mm/10d) followed by the order of PDA, YM, MEA and Czapek. 2) Optimal temperature for the mycelial growth and density of P. cornucopiae was shown to be $25^{\circ}C$, but the hyphae were dead at $5^{\circ}C$. The mycelial growth and density of KNAC2003 strain was the highest at $25^{\circ}C$(87.8mm/10d) followed by the order of 25, 30, 20, 35, 10 and $5^{\circ}C$. 3) Optimal pH for the mycelial growth and density was revealed to be 6.0(88.3mm/10d), but the mycelial growth and density were shown to be retarded in above or below pH 6.0.
An experiment was made in order to analyze the growth characteristics and productivity of Zoysia japonica under control, mowing and TIBA treatment conditions at the experimental farm of Kyung Hee University. The field was planned by the split plot design method and each treatment was given to two plots (40$\times$40 and 100$\times$100 mm) and was replicated three times. Each plot was 9$m^2$ for Zoysia japonica. The sampling of each plot was taken once a week after sowing. In order to know the dry matter of total standing crops, each organ of plants was kept at 9$0^{\circ}C$ and weighed. Total leaf area of a plant was measured by drawing method. The author adopted the growth analysis of English School. Holocellulose analysis by sodium chlorite method was made. The increasing rate of LAI was high in all plots between 10th and 12th week after sowing and high growth rate of assimilatory organ was observed in low density area of TIBA plot. Between 10th and 12th week after sowing all the experimental plots showed high increasing rate of standing crop and in the process of growth each density area of TIBA plot recorded high increasing rate. In all the plots F/C ratio and RGR were high when the growth rate of assimilatory organ was increasing cosiderably, and the higher the planting density was, the higher F/C ratio was recorded. In all the plots NAR recorded maximum rate before the growth period to show a high increase of RGR. In the process of the growth TIBA plot showed high icnreasing rate of NAR. CGR showed high value in high density areas of all the plots and reached its maximum in the 13th week after sowing. Compared to the other experimental areas the low planting density areas of control plot and TIBA plot showed considerable earlier lignification indicating low Holocellulose content in the growth process.
It is necessary to assess soil physical properties and crop growth treated by compaction to establish the soil management standard. This study evaluated the bulk density, strength and crop growth after subsoil compaction for sandy loam and loam on the field in Suwon, Korea. The treatments were compaction and deep tillage. Sandy loam and loam were classified to coarse soil and fine soil, respectively, depending on clay contents. In coarse soil, bulk density of compacted plot was 8~17% greater than control and deep tilled plot. The root growth was worse in compacted plot compared with control. In fine soil, plow pan was not observed in deep tilled plot with 5~19% smaller bulk density than compacted plot and control. Deep tillage improved the crop growth. The soil physical properties by compaction were dependent on clay content and crop growth limit depended on the traffic driving.
We report on the room-temperature-growth of highly uniform and ultrathin Ag films on Sb-terminated Si(111) surfaces, as evidenced from a scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) study in an UHV system. With predeposition of one monolayer (ML) of Sb, uniform growth of Ag islands was observed at room temperature. The Sb layer suppresses the surface diffusion of Ag atoms on Si surface and increases the Ag island density, and then the increased island density is believed to cause coalescence of Ag islands before the beginning of multilayer growth in higher coverages, resulting in the growth of atomically flat and uniform islands on the Sb surfactant layer.

The 9 $\mu\textrm{m}$ GaN films on sapphire substrate were grown by Hydride vapor phase epitaxy. Dislocation density of these GaN films was measured by TEM. GaN film with crack free and mirror surface was directly grown on sapphire substrate. The dislocation density of this GaN film was $2{\times}10^9/cm^2$. The surface of GaN film on patterned GaN layer also presented a smooth mirror. But a part of GaN surface included holes because of incomplete coalescence. The dislocation density of GaN film above the mask region was lower than that in the window region. Especially, the dislocation density in the region between mask center and window region was close to dislocation free. The average dislocation density of ELO GaN was $8{\times}10^7/cm^2$.
The dislocation density in strain-hardened Alloy 690 was analyzed using scanning transmission electron microscopy (STEM) to study the relationship between the local plastic strain and susceptibility to primary water stress corrosion cracking (PWSCC) in nuclear power plants. The test material was cold-rolled at various thickness reduction ratios from 10% to 40% to simulate the strain-hardening condition of plant components. The dislocation densities were measured at grain boundaries (GB) and in grain interiors of strain-hardened specimens from STEM images. The dislocation density in the grain interior monotonically increased as the strain-hardening proceeded, while the dislocation density at the GB increased with strain-hardening up to 20% but slightly decreases upon further deformation to 40%. The decreased dislocation density at the GB was attributed to the formation of deformation twins. After the PWSCC growth test of strain-hardened Alloy 690, the fraction of intergranular (IG) fracture was obtained from fractography. In contrast to the change in the dislocation density with strain-hardening, the fraction of IG fracture increased remarkably when strain-hardened over 20%. From the results, it was suggested that the PWSCC growth behavior of strain-hardened Alloy 690 not only depends on the dislocation density, but also on the microstructural defects at the GB.
The purpose of this paper was developing a development density control model for urban growth management, using system dynamics modeling. The density control model was developed to see how urban growth, transition, and decay occur depending on the interaction among population, houses, industry structure, land and urban infrastructure such as road, water supply, and sewage treatment facilities. Suggesting adequate level of development density control using the model was another purpose of this paper. The model was applied to An'yang city to estimate the maximum number of population, industry structures, houses, and cars that can be adequately sustained with the current An'yang city's infrastructur capacity. The computer simulation results shows that the city is overpopulated by some 90,000 people. To reduce the population to the adequate level that the current urban infrastructure can sustain, the current city regulation on floor area ratio are needed to be strengthened at least 20 to 35%.
Chemical modification of gelatin-based macroporous microcanier beads was achieved by increasing the charge density through incorporation of (diethylamino)ethylchloride-hydrochloride (DEAE:CI-HCI) or lysine, and this significantly improved the attachment and growth of HepG2 cells. When microcarriers were modified by the addition of 2% lysine, positive charge density was 0.95 meq/g-caniers. In case of modification of microcarriers with DEAE:CI-HCI, positive charge density was 0.6 meq/g-caniers. An increase in charge density of the microcaniers to improve cell attachment has facilitated the growth of the cells on macroporous gelatin microcaniers. Also, final HepG2 cell concentration cultivated on modified beads with DEAE:CI-HCI was increased up to $10^7$ cells/ml. This was 2-3 times higher than that obtained with unmodified macroporous gelatin microcarriers.
This study presents the characteristics of growth and morphology of Anabaena sp., a representative filamentous cyanobacterium, depending on temperature variation from 10 to 30 ℃. Both the filament density (or number) and its length of Anabaena were highly affected by temperature, as well as growth stage. Rapid growth at a higher temperature led to an increase in Anabaena filament density, as well as optical density at 680 nm (OD680). However, the number of vegetative cells within a single filament of Anabaena grown at 30 ℃ was smaller than those grown at lower temperatures, due to the intercalary division of the filament. Of the three different cells comprising a single Anabaena filament, the vegetative cell marginally affects the growth of Anabaena. The main dimensions of the vegetative cell, i.e., length and width, depend on the temperature and growth stage. The length-to-width (L/W) ratios of vegetative cells and akinetes were relatively consistent regardless of the temperature. However, in vegetative cells with dichotomous growth, the L/W ratio shows clear differences depending on their growth stage. It has been demonstrated that the L/W ratio could be used as an indicator to indirectly predict the growth stage of on-sit Anabaena samples.
This study was carried out to investigate the mycelial growth and density of A. auricula treated four kinds of substances L-citrulline, L-carnitine, Senna, Garcinia cambogia made from 10, 100, 500, 1000, 1500, 2000 times solutions respectively. Senna all treatments made from 10, 100, 500, 1000, 1500, 2000 times solutions are available for mycelial growth and density than control. Senna treatment made from 100 times solution of them is the best. L-citrulline treatment made from 500 times solution grew more much 7.86mm for 15 days than control, also it was optimal. L-carnitine treatment made from 100 times solution grew more much 3.4mm for 15 days than control, also it was optimal. Garcinia cambogia all treatments made from 10, 100, 500, 1000, 1500, 2000 times solutions were not available for mycelial growth and density than control. But Garcinia cambogia treatment made from 1000 times solution of them was similar to control. Accordingly, these solutions like that were effective to mycelial growth and density than control.
