In the present study, carbon molecular sieve (CMS) hollow fiber membranes were prepared by carbonizing a methyl imide hollow fiber precursor, which was spun by non-solvent induced phase separation process. And effects of carbonization parameters such as pre-oxidation, pyrolysis, and post-oxidation on the gas permeation were systematically investigated. CMS membrane having the highest gas flux was obtained by carbonizing the precursor through a combined process of air pre-oxidation at $250^{\circ}C$ for 2h, nitrogen pyrolysis at $550^{\circ}C$ for 2h, and oxygen post-oxidation at $250^{\circ}C$ for 2h. The optimized membrane showed a considerable gas permeance : the $H_2$, He, $CO_2$ permeances were 69.72, 35.61, 31.01 GPU, respectively, and the $O_2$ and $N_2$ permeances were ignorable. Therefore, it was clear that the prepared CMS hollow fiber membrane was a promising membrane for recovering small gases such as hydrogen and hellium and carbon dioxide.
In the present study, superflux nickel capillary supports for gas and vapor separation membranes were prepared by a combined process of NIPS and sintering. Nickel capillary precursors were prepared by NIPS process from PSf-Ni-DMAC-PEG400 dope solution and was sintered at various temperatures in $H_2$ atmosphere to reliably produce Ni capillary support. The optimized Ni capillary support has an outer and inner diameters of 722 and $550{\mu}m$, and its thickness was $94{\mu}m$. It has 3-dimensional pore channel network and its porosity and mean pore diameter was 26% and $4{\mu}m$, respectively. Also, its mechanical strength was tested in tensile mode: its fracture load was 2.84 kgf and the fracture elongation was 13%. Finally, its single gas permeance was measured: He, $N_2$, $O_2$, and $CO_2$ permeance was 432,327, 281,119, 264,259, and 193,143 GPU, respectively. The superflux behavior could be explained from viscous flow through the macropores having a diameter of $4{\mu}m$ and narrow thickness. It could be concluded that the superflux behavior of the Ni capillary support was from the 3-D pore channel network and the small thickness.

Recently, Depending on the quality of data increases, the problem of time-consuming to process the image is raised by being required to accelerate the image processing algorithms, in a traditional CPU and CUDA(Compute Unified Device Architecture) based recognition system for computing speed and performance gains compared to OpenMP When character recognition has been learned by the system to measure the input by the character data matching is implemented in an environment that recognizes the region of the well, so that the font of the characters image learning English alphabet are each constant and standardized in size and character an image matching method for calculating the matching has also been implemented. GPGPU (General Purpose GPU) programming platform technology when using the CUDA computing techniques to recognize and use the four cores of Intel i5 2500 with OpenMP to deal quickly and efficiently an algorithm, than the performance of existing CPU does not produce the rate of four times due to the delay of the data of the partition and merge operation proposed a method of improving the rate of speed of about 3.2 times, and the parallel processing of the video card that processes a result, the sequential operation of the process compared to CPU-based who performed the performance gain is about 21 tiems improvement in was confirmed.

Carbon molecular sieve (CMS) hollow fiber membranes were prepared by carbonizing a polyimide precursor manufactured by non-solvent induced phase separation process. Gas separation performance of CMS hollow fiber membrane was investigated on the effect of three carbonization conditions. CMS membrane with the highest gas separation performance was obtained at the pyrolysis temperature of $250-450^{\circ}C$: $N_2$, $SF_6$, and $CF_4$ permeance were 20, 0.32, 0.48 GPU, respectively, and $N_2/SF_6$ and $N_2/CF_4$ selectivities were 62 and 42, respectively. In the $SF_6/CF_4/N_2$ mixture gas test, when the stage cut was 0.2, the recovery ratio of $SF_6$ and $CF_4$ was over 99% and 98%. $SF_6$ concentration ratio was 4.5 times higher than the $SF_6$ concentration at the feed side. From the results, it was concluded that CMS membrane was one of the promising membranes for recovery Perfluorocompound gases process.

Facilitated transport is one of the possible solutions to simultaneously improve permeability and selectivity, which is challenging in conventional polymer-based membranes. Olefin/paraffin separation using facilitated transport membrane has received much attention as an alternative solution to the conventional distillation process. Herein, we report olefin separation composite membranes based on the polymer blends containing $AgBF_4/Al(NO_3)_3$ mixed salts. Free radical polymerization process was used to synthesize an amphiphilic graft copolymer of poly(dimethyl siloxane)-graft- poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether methacrylate (PDMS-g-POEM). In addition, poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) was introduced to the PDMS-g-POEM graft copolymer to form polymer blends with various ratios. The propylene/propane mixed-gas selectivity and permeance reached up to 5.6 and 10.05 GPU, respectively, when the PEO loading was 70 wt% in polymer blend. The improvement of olefin separation performance was attributed to the olefin facilitating silver ions as well as the highly permeable blend matrix. The stabilization of silver ions in the composite membrane was achieved through the introduction of $Al(NO_3)_3$ which suppressed the reduction of silver ions to silver particles.

Steam methane reforming is currently the most widely used technology for producing hydrogen, a clean fuel. Hydrogen produced by steam methane reforming contains impurities such as carbon monoxide, and it is essential to undergo an appropriate post-purification step for commercial usage, such as fuel cells. Recently, membrane separation technology has been gaining great attention as an effective purification method; in this study, we evaluated the feasibility of using commercial polysulfone membranes for biogas upgrading to separate and recover hydrogen from a hydrogen/carbon monoxide gas mixture. Initially, we examined the physicochemical properties of the commercial membrane used. We then conducted performance evaluations of the commercial membrane module under various conditions using mixed gas, considering factors such as stage-cut and operating pressure. Finally, based on the evaluation results, we carried out simulations for process design. The maximum H2 permeability and H2/CO separation factor for the commercial membrane process were recorded at 361 GPU and 20.6, respectively. Additionally, the CO removal efficiency reached up to 94%, and the produced hydrogen concentration achieved a maximum of 99.1%.

The objective of this study is to enhance the model's speed of estimating weather variables (e.g., minimum/maximum temperature, sunshine hour, PRISM (Parameter-elevation Regression on Independent Slopes Model) based precipitation), which are applied to the Agrometeorological Early Warning System (http://www.agmet.kr). The current process of weather estimation is operated on high-performance multi-core CPUs that have 8 physical cores and 16 logical threads. Nonetheless, the server is not even dedicated to the handling of a single county, indicating that very high overhead is involved in calculating the 10 counties of the Seomjin River Basin. In order to reduce such overhead, several cache and parallelization techniques were used to measure the performance and to check the applicability. Results are as follows: (1) for simple calculations such as Growing Degree Days accumulation, the time required for Input and Output (I/O) is significantly greater than that for calculation, suggesting the need of a technique which reduces disk I/O bottlenecks; (2) when there are many I/O, it is advantageous to distribute them on several servers. However, each server must have a cache for input data so that it does not compete for the same resource; and (3) GPU-based parallel processing method is most suitable for models such as PRISM with large computation loads.
MIP(Maximum Intensity Projection) is a volume rendering technique which is essential for the medical imaging system. MIP rendering based on the ray casting method produces high quality images but takes a long time. Our aim is improvement of the rendering speed using GPGPU(General-purpose computing on Graphic Process Unit) technique. In this paper, we present the ray casting algorithm based on CUDA(an acronym for Compute Unified Device Architecture) which is a programming language for GPGPU and we suggest new acceleration methods for CUDA. In detail, we propose the block based space leaping which skips unnecessary regions of volume data for CUDA, the bisection method which is a fast method to find a block edge, and the initial value estimation method which improves the probability of space leaping. Due to the proposed methods, we noticeably improve the rendering speed without image quality degradation.
The purpose of this paper is to propose a service system for a digital hologram video, which has not been published yet. This system assumes the existing service framework for 2-dimensional or 3-dimensional image/video, which includes data acquisition, processing, transmission, reception, and reconstruction. This system includes acquisition of color and depth image pairs from a image acquisition system with vertical rigs, rectification of acquired image pairs and generating digital hologram. Also it is designed to reduce the CGH (computer-generated hologram) generation time to 1/3. It also includes some additional and optional functions such as watermarking, compression, and encryption.

In this paper, we propose a parallel optimization method of Aho-Corasick (AC) algorithm and Parallel Failureless Aho-Corasick (PFAC) algorithm using Open Computing Language (OpenCL) on Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA). The low throughput of string matching engine causes the performance degradation of network process. Recently, many researchers have studied the string matching engine using parallel computing. FPGA's vendors offer a parallel computing platform using OpenCL. In this paper, we apply the AC and PFAC algorithm on DE1-SoC board with Cyclone V FPGA, where the optimization that considers FPGA architecture is performed. Experiments are performed considering global id, local id, local memory, and loop unrolling optimizations using PFAC algorithm. The performance improvement using loop unrolling is 129 times greater than AC algorithm that not adopt loop unrolling. The performance improvements using loop unrolling are 1.1, 0.2, and 1.5 times greater than those using global id, local id, and local memory optimizations mentioned above.
