In this paper, we propose mobile Augmented Reality(AR) for smart learning system which is advanced e-learning. AR is technology that seamlessly overlays computer graphics on the real world. AR has become widely available because of mobile AR. Mobile AR is possible to get information from real world anytime, anywhere. Nowadays, there are various areas using AR such as entertainment, marketing, location-based AR. One of the most promising areas is education. AR in education shows lifelike images to users for realism. It's a good way for improving concentration and attention. We utilize only a camera for image-based AR without other sensor.

Recently, the interest in autonomous vehicle which is an aggregate of the automotive control technology is increasing. In particular, researches on the self-localization technology that is directly connected with stable driving of autonomous vehicle have been performed. Various dead reckoning technologies which are solutions for resolving the limitation of GPS have been introduced. However, the conventional dead reckoning technologies have two disadvantages to apply on the autonomous vehicle. First one is that the expensive sensors must be equipped additionally. The other one is that the accuracy of self-localization decreases caused by wheel slip when the vehicle's motion changed rapidly. Based on this background, in this paper, the wheel speed sensor which is equipped on most of vehicles was used and the dead reckoning algorithm considering wheel slip ratio was developed for autonomous vehicle. Finally, in order to evaluate the performance of developed algorithm, the various simulation were conducted and the results were compared with the conventional algorithm.
The scope of activities of the visually impaired is increasing. But they are not easy to visit the destination safely because the building was complicated and larger than ever. There is a guide system for visually impaired such as GPS and Audio alerts, Braille guide block, Acoustic signaller, etc. But they are not suitable for indoor because most of them are the outdoor guide system. Therefore, in this paper, I propose a system that provides guidance information to the visually impaired using Voice Technology, TTS (Text to Speech) and Haptic Technology, Beacon based on the wireless sensor networks. It informed the visually impaired of guidance information about destination such as distance, height, and obstacle to the destination using the generalized smart phone. The user could be received guide info about searches for the optimal route to the destination using the TTS technology and Haptic technology in test result of the proposed system.

This study is about the development of measurement system using ubiquitous wireless communication for river flow monitoring. The system can acquire water depth, quality (temperature, pH, conductivity, turbidity etc.) while a GPS module for getting the location data of measurement points. Also this system is able to acquire the field data via RF connection and can be controlled same time. The acquired data is transmitted to a gateway system from the remote buoy using Zigbee wireless connection. And the gateway system is able to monitor the data through GIS monitoring tool. Finally the data are transmitted to a server computer using CDMA wireless connection by gateway system. The D/B of server computer are constructed automatically and monitored the project web site. The resulting system can be used for scour monitoring, environment monitoring and the other monitoring purposes such as a river flow monitoring system.

Beacon enables one to measure distance indoors based on low-power Bluetooth low energy (BLE) technology, while GPS (Global Positioning System) only can be used outdoors. In measuring indoor distance using Beacon, RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indication) is considered as the one of the key factors, however, it is influenced by various environmental factors so that it causes the huge gap between the estimated distance and the real. In order to handle this issue, we propose the adaptive ANN (Artificial Neural Network) based approach to measuring the exact distance using Beacon. First, we has carried out the preprocessing of the RSSI signals by applying the extended Kalman filter and the signal stabilization filter into decreasing the noise. Then, we suggest the multi-layered ANNs, each of which layer is learned by specific training data sets. The results showed an average error of 0.67m, a precision of 0.78.

Smartphone schedule management applications are widely used in mobile environment with the help of their effective user interface and high user accessibility. Unfortunately, since the applications do not consider frequent context changes like user status or location, they can not support schedule management which reflects the changes. In this paper, we propose an intelligent notification service which gathers context information of users such as location and status, and actively provides appropriate services according to the context information. Based on the notification service, we also present a smartphone application for smart schedule management. Using the GPS sensor of a smartphone, the service can be aware of the status of the user through location and schedule information of the user. Also, according to the changed contexts, it provides proactive notifications to user.

Recently, many WMS(Web Mapping Services) and POI(Point of Interest) service on to be in service on the Internet using Web CIS(Geographic Information System) as information Technology and computer HW are evolved faster in its speed, network bandwidth and features. The Web GIS is, however, limited and constrained on the specification of its system configuration, the service class provided and the presentation methodology of a map. As the mobile Internet becomes popular in mobile service, Web GIS service on mobile environment is strongly required and to be provided by LBS(Location Based Service) on a mobile client such as PDA with location information of the user. In this paper, we made an effort to design and implement a GIS computing environment by thin client for mobile web mapping service. For implementing the thin client GIS computing environment, we were using NGII's(National Geographic Information Institute's) DXF map, representing the map by SVG(Scalable Vector Graphics) recommended by OGC(OpenGis Consortium), and adapting standard XML web service to provide the thin client GIS service on PDA by applying the location information of the user in realtime with GPS on mobile environment.
Currently, ECDIS and GPS plotters are much used as equipment providing operators with route information, but they do not have any function of automatic route creation and route explanation, so available for only experienced operators. Especially, the present situation is tint no study is made of the automatic route creation and route explanation using ENC for ECDIS, substitution system of paper chart. ENC is the electronic navigation chart that is produced using S-52, S-57 standard format required by IHQ. In this paper, an Vessel Operator Support System(VOSS) is proposed to generate an optimal route where ENC and GPS data is fusioned induding the wind direction and speed of an anemometer and tide data. The proposed system was testified by a simulation, and its effectiveness was verified.

Developing countries and small local governments face financial constraints, limiting the adoption of their own bus information systems. However, despite poor social infrastructure and low income levels, developing countries have a high smartphone penetration rate, and the distribution and usage of online content and social media are widespread. Smartphones, equipped with GPS sensors, cameras, and other location-based information collection capabilities, can replace expensive on-site terminals. This study aims to replace expensive on-site terminals with smartphones, develop a center system based on cloud servers, and establish an extensible Open BIS (Bus Information System) service and platform that can be applied anywhere. The goal is to formulate a business model in the process.

In this paper, user-position estimation method is proposed by using a single camera for both indoor and outdoor environments. Conventionally, the GPS of RF-based estimation methods have been widely studied in the literature for outdoor and indoor environments, respectively. Each method is useful only for indoor or outdoor environment. In this context, this study adopts a vision-based approach which can be commonly applicable to both environments. Since the distance or position cannot be extracted from a single still image, the reference images pro-stored in image database are used to identify the current position from the single still image captured by a single camera. The reference image is tagged with its captured position. To find the reference image which is the most similar to the current image, the SURF algorithm is used for feature extraction. The outliers in extracted features are discarded by using RANSAC algorithm. The performance of the proposed method is evaluated for two buildings and their outsides for both indoor and outdoor environments, respectively.
