  • This research is focused on the development of GIS Diagnostic SYSTEM to prevent accidents beforehand by inspecting the internal defects of GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear) which is a main power-facility for substations. GIS Diagnostic SYSTEM is categorized as 'Real time on-line test type' and 'Portable test type' depending on the types of testing, it uses PD(partial discharge) which mostly incurs in GIS internal defects, to inspect. As of now, mostly foreign equipments are imported for use due to the lack of the technology localization, and these are installed and operated on only some parts of highly-graded GIS power-facilities such as in 76skv or 345kv for its being expensive. Furthermore, other than foreign equipments being costly, it also has a weak point of very long unavailability in case of Diagnostic system break-down while using, because it takes a comparatively long period of corrective maintenance precesses. We have localized to develop personal real-time multi -functional GIS Diagnostic system which can test on all GIS power-facility comprehensively and economically therefore overcome all these problems mentioned above, a market expansion is expected from the decrease of price and replacing the import equipments in the future. As the equipment was developed to be Personal for the simple ways of installing and utilizing, it can be operated without any complex cable installation like other existing GIS Diagnostic system requires, therefore also decrease the cost of cable installation.

  • 본 연구는 전력 계통에 상용화된 $SF_6$ GIS(Gas Insulated Switchgear) 내부에서 발생되는 부분방전 검출 방법을 개발하기 위하여, GIS의 내부에 유입되거나 생산과정에서 형성 될 수 있는 세 가지 결함들을 연구용 GIS 내부에 모의하였으며 또한 특성이 다른 센서(UHF, CT, AE)를 제작 또는 이용하여 그 부분방전 패턴 결과와 주파수 분석 결과를 상호 비교하였다. 실험결과에 의하면, 동일한 결함에 의하여 센서의 검출 결과는 다르게 나타나거나 전혀 검출이 되지 않음이 밝혀졌다. 따라서, 부분방전 패턴분석을 하나의 분석방법에 의존하는 것은 바람직하지 못한 것으로 사료되며 신뢰성 있는 GIS 진단을 위하여 적합한 센서개발 및 두 가지 이상의 분석 방법이 병행되는 것이 절대적으로 필요한 것으로 사료된다.

  • Recently, the development of diagnosis technique with high confidence is important on power equipment, for this reason is use for measurement and analysis of PD with prior appearance of insulation breakdown. In this paper, we presents the analysis of trouble signal to use ${\phi}-Q$ method which display 2D and 3D Equipment of simulation has made independently DS for 170kV GIS of one phase with same on field. The detected signal through the sensor of Induction and Acoustic Emission is classified to use characteristic neural network algorithm and then it is analysis.

  • 개방형 스페이서(barrier)가 적용된 가스 절연개폐장치(GIS)에 외장형 부분방전(PD) 센서를 적용 하고 센서장착부, 인근 스페이서 또는 부싱으로 유입되는 광대역 잡음신호의 투과율을 10 - 2000 MHz의 극초단파 영역에서 측정하였다. 또한 간단한 금속 차폐체에 의한 잡음신호의 감쇄효과도 측정 하였다. 스페이서 또는 부싱을 통하여 인근센서에 유입되는 잡음의 크기는 차폐시와 대비하여 약 25 dB 증가하였다.

  • The use of ultrasound is proposed as the most economic and practical nondestructive test method for the detectin of electrical degradation in insulating materials. This paper has studied identification and characterization of partial discharge signals according to defects in GIS using AE(acoustic emission)sensor. Analysis of PD signals use $\psi-v-n$, skewness and kurtosis.

  • Transient earth voltage (TEV) signals propagate on metal surfaces when partial discharge (PD) occurs due to the deterioration of insulation performance in the operation of gas-insulated switchgears (GIS). A TEV sensor has advantages of high sensitivity and convenient installation for detecting PD defects. However, the TEV sensor depends on imports in domestic and detailed studies have not been conducted. In this study, a sensor was designed and fabricated by the TEV principle and its response characteristics were evaluated for detecting PD defects, which were simulated as protrusion on conductor (POC), protrusion on enclosure (POE), and free moving particle (FMP) defects. Finally, the PD-induced TEV signals were measured and phase-resolved partial discharge (PRPD) patterns were analyzed to identify the type of defect.

  • This paper shows the design improvement and test model of FAU (Frequency Analysis Unit) in PDD (Partial Discharge Diagnosis system) for 800kV GIS (Gas Insulated Switchgear). We found some problems during operation of previous FAU, such as the aging of fiber-optic converter that can cause communication error, the malfunction of signal analysis circuit etc. And then we solved those problems by design improvement and verified the performance through type test. To monitor partial discharge, the performance of UHF sensor is important but the performance of frequency analysis unit is also very important. So we solved communication error, the malfunction of signal analysis circuit and then increased the operation reliability of FAU by improving fiber-optic converter and signal analysis circuit. Accredited testing laboratory carried out the performance verification test according to performance test criteria and procedure of reliability test standards, IEC-60225, 61000 and 60068 etc. We confirmed the test results which correspond with the performance test criteria.

Discrimination of insulation defects in a Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) by use of a neural network based on a Chaos Analysis of Partial Discharge(CAPD) (카오스이론을 이용한 GIS 내부 절연결함 판별)

  • In this work, experimental investigation has been mainly done. For this purpose, UHF sensor has been designed and fabricated to detect the partial discharges produced from the 10 artificial defects introduced into the real scale 70kV GIS mock-up under the high voltage at the well shielded room. And also, in order to verify the applicability of the proposed method at the site, the proposed CAPD (chaos analysis of partial discharge) is combined with spectral analysis method in order to identify the nature of the above 10 defects. The PD pattern recognition of each defect has been fulfilled by applying self developed artificial neural network soft ware. The result shows that the recognition rate is reached to be 80% by newly proposed method while the traditional PRPD analysis method leads us to obtain 41%. In consequence, it can be pointed out that the proposed method seems likely to be applicable to the real GIS at the site.

  • In generally, compared with VHF band, electromagnetic waves of UHF band have a low influence for external noise. We can detect the real abnormality with several pC in GIS using UHF method. Recently, it has applied to use the external UHF sensor attached on spacer to GIS of existing substation. In this paper, we firstly described the technique of the partial discharge measurement using frequency analysis and phase analysis in UHF band. Secondly, we presented the results of sensitivity, the relationship of dBm-pC and diagnosis of the reason of PD source by phase analysis. And then, we report the diagnosis result of partial discharge on 800kV GIS in domestic substation. rge diagnosis of GIS.
