Flexural stiffness of steel-concrete composite beam under positive moment

  • This paper investigates the flexural stiffness of simply supported steel-concrete composite I-beams under positive bending moment through combined experimental, numerical, and different standard methods. 14 composite beams are tested for experimental study and parameters including shear connection degree, transverse and longitudinal reinforcement ratios, loading way are also investigated. ABAQUS is employed to establish finite element (FE) models to simulate the flexural behavior of composite beams. The influences of a few key parameters, such as the shear connection degree, stud arrangement, stud diameter, beam length, loading way, on the flexural stiffness is also studied by parametric study. In addition, three widely used standard methods including GB, AISC, and British standards are used to estimate the flexural stiffness of the composite beams. The results are compared with the experimental and numerical results. The findings have provided comprehensive understanding of the flexural stiffness and the modelling of the composite beams. The results also indicate that GB 50017-2003 could provide better results in comparison to the other standards.

A Study for the Development of a Tailored Jacket Pattern for the Chinese Adult Women - Focused on the women in their early 20s in Shanghai -

  • For the purpose to develop the pattern of a tailored jacket for the Chinese adult women, a drawing method for the pattern of a tailored jacket was selected with the style of 'on&on', a young and casual brand of Beaucre Merchandising Co., Ltd. that has been successful in the China market, and then the measures to be applied were set up by properly combining the body measures such as the mean, mode and median of the entire group from data measured from women of 18 to 24 years old in Shanghai, China in 2008 and the mean body measures of the body type A of 2008 classified by GB/T 1335.2-1997. The pattern of a tailored jacket developed was verified for feasibility based on a wearing test and then revised for the parts with low jacket ability in general including the bust circumference, waist circumference, hip circumference, shoulder, waist back length and back area. The final measures applied for the development of a tailored jacket were 160-165cm for the height, the bust circumference of 87.7cm, waist circumference of 69.6cm and hip circumference of 92.8cm for a jacket.

버스 공공와이파이 보안 접속 동향 분석에 관한 연구 (A study on the analysis of bus public Wi-Fi security access trends)

  • In this study, we have analyzed the access status and the data usage trend of the public Wi-Fi on the bus, which has not been carried out in the previous studies. The analysis period of this study is 5 months from Nov. 2020 to Mar. 2021. When we compared the access status of Seoul metropolitan and the non-metropolitan region against each region's deployment status ratio, the access ratio of the metropolitan region was higher than the non-metropolitan region, of which the gap was 4.53%. The access for each region showed the growing trend, which was 43.5% on average. The data usage also showed the growing trend, 2.7% on average. Weekly data usage showed the growing trend irrespective of weekdays or weekends. The data usage of the weekdays was 695GB higher than weekends. The data usage during commuting hours including school (7:00~9:00 a.m. and 4:00~6:00 p.m.) was higher than 3,000GB. We can conclude that bus public Wi-Fi was used more actively in non-metropolitan region than Seoul metropolitan region by the office workers and students. The secure access also showed the growing trend. And the secure data usage also showed the growing trend.

대용량 VLBI 데이터 전송을 위한 초고속 네트워크 성능 모니터링 및 최적화 연구 (A Study on the Performance Monitoring and Optimization of a High Speed Network for the Transfer of Massive VLBI Data)

  • VLBI에서 서로 멀리 떨어진 각 관측소에서 생성된 관측 데이터는 데이터 처리 및 분석을 위해 상관센터에 수집되어야 한다. 전통적으로 관측 데이터는 배나 비행기 등의 교통 수단을 통해 전달되었다. 하지만 IT 기술의 급격한 발전 속에 네트워크를 이용한 데이터 전송으로 빠르게 대체되고 있고 이를 통해 국제 공동 협업 연구가 더욱 활발해지고 있다. 이러한 기술 간 융합을 통한 연구 환경의 변화를 고려하여 2010년 9월 KVN 각 관측소와 상관센터를 초고속 네트워크로 연결하는 e-KVN이 구축되었고 두번의 업그레이드 과정을 통해 최대 100GbE에 달하는 인터페이스를 갖추게 되었다. 이후 KVN의 VLBI 관측 수행과 데이터 처리에 있어서 네트워크 활용 비중은 기하급수적으로 증가하고 있다. 본 논문에서는 KVN VLBI 시스템의 구성에 대해 살펴보고 세 관측소와 상관센터를 KREONET으로 연결하는 e-KVN의 성능 최적화 기법 및 개선된 모니터링 방안에 대해 기술하기로 한다. 나아가 광대역 관측 구현을 위한 e-KVN의 향후 계획에 대해 조망해보고자 한다.

A 60-GHz LTCC SiP with Low-Power CMOS OOK Modulator and Demodulator

  • In this paper, a 60 GHz LTCC SiP with low-power CMOS OOK modulator and demodulator is presented. The 60 GHz modulator is designed in a 90-nm CMOS process. The modulator uses a current reuse technique and only consumes 14.4-mW of DC power in the on-state. The measured data rate is up to 2 Gb/s. The 60 GHz OOK demodulator is designed in a 130nm CMOS process. The demodulator consists of a gain boosting detector and a baseband amplifier, and it recovers up to 5 Gb/s while consuming low DC power of 14.7 mW. The fabricated 60 GHz modulator and demodulator are fully integrated in an LTCC SiP with 1 by 2 patch antenna. With the LTCC SiP, 648 Mb/s wireless video transmission was successfully demonstrated at wireless distance of 20-cm.

  • Google의 Android phone이나 Apple의 iPhone과 같은 스마트폰들이 대중화됨에 따라, 플래시 메모리용 고성능 고신뢰 파일시스템에 대한 필요성이 증가되고 있다. 본 논문에서는 YAFFS(Yet Another Flash File System)의 성능 개선 및 신뢰성 향상을 위한 기법을 제안한다. 구체적으로, 파일시스템의 마운트 시간 단축 및 성능 향상을 위해 메타데이터와 유저 데이터의 분리 할당 기법을 도입하였으며, 유저 데이터의 인덱싱 정보를 메타데이터에 추가하였다. 또한 신뢰도 향상을 위해 메타 데이터 블록과 유저 데이터 블록에 대한 마모도 평준화 기법을 도입하였다. 제안된 기법은 1GB의 NAND 플래시 메모리를 가지는 시스템에서 실제 구현되었다. 실험을 통해 제안된 기법이 기존 YAFFS에 비해 6배의 마운트 시간감소와 약 4배의 벤치마크 성능 향상 그리고, 평균 14%의 삭제 횟수 감소 및 마모도 평준화의 효과가 있음을 보인다.

Self-seeding FP-LD을 이용한 파장 가변 레이저 광원 (Tunable laser source using a self-seeding FP-LD)

  • 본 논문에서는 self-seeding FP-LD (Fabry Perot Laser Diode)를 이용하여 WDM-PON (Wavelength Division Multiplexing - Passive Optical Network)에서 사용될 수 있는 새로운 파장 가변 광원의 가능성을 검증한다. 파장 가변 광원을 이용한 WDM-PON의 기존 구현은 AWG (Arrayed Waveguide Grating) 소자의 중심 파장과 광원의 중심 파장을 세밀히 정렬해 주어야 하는 단점이 발생한다. 그러나, 본 논문에서 제안하는 파장 가변 광원은 매우 간단한 구조로 구성되며, 가변 파장이 AWG의 중심 파장에 자동 정렬되는 장점을 갖는다. 구현된 파장 가변 광원은 약 14 nm 정도 이상의 파장 가변 대역을 보였고, 상대적 세기 잡음, RIN (Relative Intensity Noise)은 최대 약 -124dB/Hz로 나타났으며, 외부 변조기를 통해 변조한 결과 10Gb/s 신호에 대한 변조 가능성을 확인 할 수 있었다.

An Inductive-coupling Link with a Complementary Switching Transmitter and an Integrating Receiver

  • A transceiver for a high-speed inductive-coupling link is proposed. The bi-phase modulation (BPM) signaling scheme is used due to its good noise immunity. The transmitter utilizes a complementary switching method to remove glitches in transmitted data. To increase the timing margin on the receiver side, an integrating receiver with a pre-charging equalizer is employed. The proposed transceiver was implemented via a 130-nm CMOS process. The measured timing window for a $10^{-12}$ bit error rate (BER) at 1.8 Gb/s was 0.33 UI.

  • It has been a huge amount of capacity of 10GB data base in a decade ago so far. Nowadays, however, 10TB is the common data base and even bigger capacities are available. So, new generation of Very Large Data Base (VLDB) has begun. Moving in to the new generation of VLDB has been caused major problems like backing up, restoring, and managing especially performance. It is very hard to export necessary data rapidly now due to the huge amount of data base. In the past, such kind of problems was out of the questions because of less data. As time goes on, however, optimization of performance became a big issue when the VLDB is common. Therefore, new professional technics are urgently required to maintain and optimize the data base that has become a VLDB or one that is in the progress of becoming one.

An Algorithm for Bit Error Rate Monitoring and Adaptive Decision Threshold Optimization Based on Pseudo-error Counting Scheme

  • Bit error rate (BER) monitoring is the ultimate goal of performance monitoring in all digital transmission systems as well as optical fiber transmission systems. To achieve this goal, optimization of the decision threshold must also be considered because BER is dependent on the level of decision threshold. In this paper, we analyze a pseudo-error counting scheme and propose an algorithm to achieve both BER monitoring and adaptive decision threshold optimization in optical fiber transmission systems. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, we conduct computer simulations in both Gaussian and non-Gaussian distribution cases. According to the simulation results, BER and the optimum decision threshold can be estimated with the errors of < 20% and < 10 mV, respectively, within 0.1-s processing time in > 40-Gb/s transmission systems.
