In this paper, a new scheme of iterative loaming control of a robot manipulator is presented. The proposed method uses a fuzzy sliding mode controller(FSMC), which is designed based on the similarity between the fuzzy logic control(FLC) and the sliding mode control(SMC), for the feedback. With this, the proposed method makes possible fDr fast iteration and has advantages that no linear approximation is used for the derivation of the learning law or in the stability proof Full proof of the convergence of the fuzzy sliding base learning scheme Is given.

Generally, the underwater flight vehicle (UFV) depth control system operates with the following problems: it is a multi-input multi-output (MIMO) system because the UFV contains both pitch and depth angle variables as well as multiple control planes, it requires robustness because of the possibility that it may encounter uncertainties such as parameter variations and disturbances, it requires a continuous control input because the system that has reduced power consumption and acoustic noise is more practical, and further, it has the speed dependency of controller parameters because the control forces of control planes depend on the operating speed. To solve these problems, an adaptive fuzzy sliding mode controller (AFSMC), which is based on the decomposition method using expert knowledge in the UFV depth control and utilizes a fuzzy basis function expansion (FBFE) and a proportional integral augmented sliding signal, is proposed. To verify the performance of the AFSMC, UFV depth control is performed. Simulation results show that the AFSMC solves all problems experienced in the UFV depth control system online.
One of control methods for underactuated manipulators is known as a switching control which selects a partially-stable controller using a prespecified switching rule. A switching computed torque control with a fuzzy energy region method was proposed. In this approach, some partly stable controllers are designed by the computed torque method, and a switching rule is based on fuzzy energy regions. Design parameters related to boundary curves of fuzzy energy regions are optimized offline by a genetic algorithm (GA). In this paper, we discuss on parameters obtained by GA. The effectiveness of the switching fuzzy energy method is demonstrated with some simulations.
Generally PI controller is used to control the speed of an induction motor. It has the good performance of speed control in case of adjusting the control parameters. But it occurred the problem to change the control parameters in the change of operation condition. In order to solve this problem, Fuzzy control or Artificial neural network is introduced in the speed control of an induction motor. However, Fuzzy control have the problems as the difficulties to change the membership function and fuzzy rule and the remaining error Also Neural network has the problem as the difficulties to analyze the behavior of inner part. Therefore, the study on the combination of two controller is proceeded. In this paper, Fuzzy-neural controller to make up these controllers in parallel is proposed and the speed control of an induction motor is performed using the proposed controller Through the experiment, the fast response and good stability of the proposed speed controller is proved.
Fuzzy sliding mode controller for a class of uncertain nonlinear dynamical systems is proposed and analyzed. The controller's construction and its analysis involve sliding modes. The proposed controller consists of two components. Sliding mode component is employed to eliminate the effects of disturbances, while a fuzzy model component equipped with an adaptation mechanism reduces modeling uncertainties by approximating model uncertainties. To demonstrate its performance, the proposed control algorithm is applied to an inverted pendulum. The results show that both alleviation of chattering and performance are achieved.
In the paper is proposed a hierarchical self-learning fuzzy controller for balancing and position control of an circular inverted pendulum system. To stabilize the pendulum at a specified position, the hierarchical fuzzy controller consists of a supervisory controller, a self-learning fuzzy controller, and a forced disturbance generator. Simulation example shows the effectiveness of the proposed method.
We consider one of robust controller, fuzzy-sliding mode controller dealing with model uncertainty, simplified representation of nonlinear system, changed parameters of plant. We propose fuzzy-sliding mode algorithm which provides control input that has system states approaching the choosed sliding surface. This fuzzy controller has a rule base to get initial states converged on sliding surface. This algorithm Is applied to a transfer function of DC motor to be modeled simply and do position control of DC motor due to system parameters. We compare fuzzy-sliding mode controller to both sliding mode controller and fuzzy controller to identify roust control.
This paper proposes a GA-based optimal fuzzy control technique for the vibration control of earthquakeexcited adjacent structures interconnected with semi-active magneto-rheological(MR) dampers. Rule-based fuzzy logic controllers are designed first by implementing heuristic knowledge and the genetic algorithm(GA) is then introduced to optimally tune the fuzzy controllers for enhancing the seismic performance of semi-active control system. For practical implementation, the fuzzy controller simply uses locally measured responses of the dampers involved and directly returns the input voltage to the magneto-rheological dampers in real time through the fuzzy inference mechanism. The local measurement based fuzzy controller provides optimal damping force in a decentralized manner so that it does not require a primary central controller unlike the conventional semi-active control techniques. As a result, it can avoid the unbridgeable discrepancy between the desired control force and the actual damper force that may occur in the conventional control approaches. The validity and effectiveness of the proposed control method are shown numerically on two 20-story earthquake-excited buildings interconnected with MR dampers.
In this paper, a novel neural network compensation technique for PD like fuzzy controlled robot manipulators is presented. A standard PD-like fuzzy controller is designed and used as a main controller for controlling robot manipulators. A neural network controller is added to the reference trajectories to modify input error space so that the system is robust to any change in system parameter variations. It forms a neural-fuzzy control structure and used to compensate for nonlinear effects. The ultimate goal is same as that of the neuro-fuzzy control structure, but this proposed technique modifies the input error not the fuzzy rules. The proposed scheme is tested to control the position of the 3 degrees-of-freedom rotary robot manipulator. Performances are compared with that of other neural network control structure known as the feedback error learning structure that compensates at the control input level.
This paper presents the design methodology of digital fuzzy controller(DFC) for the systems with time-delay. We propose the fuzzy feedback controller whose output is delayed with unit sampling period and predicted. The analysis and the design problem considering time-delay become easy because the proposed controller is syncronized with the sampling time. The stabilization problem of the digital fuzzy system with time-delay is solved by linear matrix inequality(LMI) theory. Convex optimization techniques are utilized to solve the stable feedback gains and a common Lyapunov function for designed fuzzy control system. To show the effectiveness the proposed control scheme, the network control example is presented.
