Nucleus Recognition of Uterine Cervical Pap-Smears using Fuzzy Reasoning Rule (퍼지 추론 규칙을 이용한 자궁 경부진 핵 인식)

  • In this paper, we apply a set of algorithms to classily normal and cancer nucleus from uterine cervical pap-smear images. First, we use lightening compensation algorithm to restore color images that have defamation through the process of obtaining $1{\times}400$ microscope magnification. Then, we remove the background from images with the histogram distributions of RGB regions. We extract nucleus areas from candidates by applying histogram brightness, Kapur method, and our own 8-direction contour tracing algorithm. Various binarization, cumulative entropy, masking algorithms are used in that process. Then, we are able to recognize normal and cancer nucleus from those areas by using three morphological features - directional information, the size of nucleus, and area ratio - with fuzzy membership functions and deciding rules we devised. The experimental result shows our method has low false recognition rate.

  • In this paper, we represent a mobile robot which can recognize chemical odor, measure concentration, and track its source indoors. The mobile robot has the function of smell that can sort several gases in experiment such as ammonia, ethanol, and their mixture with neural network algorithm and measure each gas concentration with fuzzy rules. In addition, it can not only navigate to the desired position with vision system by avoiding obstacles but also transmit odor information and warning messages earned from its own operations to other nodes by multi-hop communication in wireless sensor network. We suggest the way of odor sorting, concentration measurement, and source tracking for a mobile robot in wireless sensor network using a hybrid algorithm with vision system and gas sensors. The experimental studies prove that the efficiency of the proposed algorithm for odor recognition, concentration measurement, and source tracking.

Determination Method of TTL for Improving Energy Efficiency of Wormhole Attack Defense Mechanism in WSN (무선 센서 네트워크에서 웜홀 공격 방어기법의 에너지 효율향상을 위한 TTL 결정 기법)

  • Attacks in wireless sensor networks (WSN), are similar to the attacks in ad-hoc networks because there are deployed on a wireless environment. However existing security mechanism cannot apply to WSN, because it has limited resource and hostile environment. One of the typical attack in WSN is setting up wrong route that using wormhole. To overcome this threat, Ji-Hoon Yun et al. proposed WODEM (WOrmhole attack DEfense Mechanism) which can detect and counter with wormhole. In this scheme, it can detect and counter with wormhole attacks by comparing hop count and initial TTL (Time To Live) which is pre-defined. The selection of a initial TTL is important since it can provide a tradeoff between detection ability ratio and energy consumption. In this paper, we proposed a fuzzy rule-based system for TTL determination that can conserve energy, while it provides sufficient detection ratio in wormhole attack.

  • 인간이 그린 그림은 자신의 심리적 상태와 성격, 정서적인 갈등과 같이 자기표현을 나타낸다. 그림을 통해서 색채 정보와 그린 물체의 위치를 통하여 그린 사람의 심리 상태를 파악하고 치료 할 수 있다. 이러한 그림 치료를 통해서 갈등을 조정하고, 자기 표현과 승화 과정을 통해 자아의 성장 과정을 도울 수 있고, 내담자들의 객관적이고 의식적인 서술만으로 파악하기 어려운 문제를 그림을 통해 무의식 세계를 쉽게 알 수 있다. 본 논문에서는 인간이 그린 그림에서 색채정보와 물체의 위치 정보를 분석하고 퍼지추론 규칙을 이용하여 감성 상태를 파악하는 방법을 제안한다. 제안된 방법을 알슈울러와 해트릭(Alschuler and Hattwick)의 색채에 따른 감성상태와 Grunwald의 그림 표현의 공간 구성에 따른 심리상태에 적용한 결과, 제안된 감성 분석 방법이 효율적인 것을 확인하였다.

  • 현재 국내 배전자동화 시스템의 고장구간을 최소한으로 하는 불필요 정전구간 복구시스템은 고장발생 시 중앙에서 고장구간을 판단하고 Fuzzy Rule을 이용한 복구해를 통하여 계통의 Device들을 운영자가 직접 제어하는 방식이다. 이러한 방식은 원격으로 제어가 가능하며 운영자가 직접 상황에 따라 적절한 판단을 하여 신뢰성이 크다는 장점이 있지만, 운영자의 실수에 의해서 계통에 문제가 발생할 가능성도 있고, 정전복구시간 면에서 볼 때 오퍼레이터의 실수에 의해 생기는 복구지연시간은 소비자들에게는 경제적 손실 및 불편을 초래할 수 있다. 따라서 이러한 운영자의 실수를 미연에 방지하고 정전복구 시간 또한 가급적 줄일 수 있는 방안을 마련하는 것이 필요하다. 본 연구에서 제안하는 Multi-Agent 기반의 분산형 정전복구 시스템은 중앙의 제어를 통하지 않고 계통 내의 Device들이 Agent 개념의 지능을 가지고 상호 정보교환을 통하여 고장구간을 판단하고 정전을 복구하는 시스템으로 현재 배전자동화 시스템의 복구시간을 1분 이내로 단축시킬 수 있는 시스템을 제안하였다. 간단한 배전계통을 구성하고 전력계통의 현재 통신망중 유/무선의 대표적인 LAN 및 CDMA 통신을 이용한 사례연구를 통해 제안한 시스템에서의 정전구간 1분 이내의 복구시간을 입증하였다.

Influence of Major Urban Construction on Atmospheric Particulates and Emission Reduction Measures

  • In order to understand the variation of air quality and the concentration of atmospheric particulates in Chengdu Second Ring Road renovation project, this paper starts to investigate the surrounding residents' opinions on the influenced environment and their daily lives via questionnaires. Then the study numerically simulates the change rule of atmospheric particulates in terms of time and space by using the Gaussian dispersion-deposition model and the compartment model. The optimized scientific scheme is selected by the improved fuzzy analytical hierarchy process(FAHP) to help decision making for the future urban reconstructions. Finally, the reduced emissions of atmospheric particulates are measured when the improvement scheme is provided. According to the study, it can be concluded that the concentration of atmospheric particulates increases rapidly in central Chengdu city during the renovation project, which results in worsening air quality in Chengdu during March 2012 to March 2013. Taking related measures on energy saving and emission reduction can effectively reduce the concentration of atmospheric particulates and promote economic, environmental and social coordination.

A Multimedia Recommender System Using User Playback Time (사용자의 재생 시간을 이용한 멀티미디어 추천 시스템)

  • In this paper, we propose a multimedia recommender system using user's playback time. Proposed system collects multimedia content which is requested by user and its user‘s playback time, as web log data. The system predicts playback time.based preference level and related contents from collected transaction database by fuzzy association rule mining. Proposed method has a merit which sorts recommendation list according to preference without user’s custom preference data, and prevents a false preference. As an experimental result, we confirm that proposed system discovers useful rules and applies them to recommender system from a transaction which doesn‘t include custom preferences.

  • Currently, agricultural facilities are evaluated using either basic inspections or detailed analysis. However, conventional analyses as well as methods based on fuzzy logic and rule of thumb have not been very successful in providing a clear relationship between rating and real state of agricultural facilities, because they can't provide exactly acceptable reliability of degraded structures with manager or supervisor. Therefore, in this stage, we must define probabilistic variables for representing degradation of structures being given damages during a survival time. This paper describes the application of neural network system in developing the relation between subjective ratings and parameters of agricultural reservoir as well as that between subjective and analytical ratings. It is shown that neural networks can be trained and used successfully in estimating a rating based on several parameters. The specific application problem for agricultural reservoir in the rural area of Korea is presented and database is constructed to maintain training data set, the information of inspection and facilities. This study showed that a successful training of a neural network could be useful, especially if the input data set for target problem contains parameters with a diverse combination of inter-correlation coefficients. And the networks had a prediction rating of about $^{\ast}^{\ast}^{\ast}%$. The neural network system is expected to show high performance fairly in estimate than statistical method to use equation that is consisted of very lowly interrelated variables.

  • Variable mechanism perceives height and location of the person who use Kiosk system then control the machine to proper height and location. In this paper, we propose ADALINE-Fuzzy logic system control method for control height and direction of the variable kiosk. To prove usefulness of proposed system, we performed Widrow-Hoff delta rule experiment and carried out examination and comparison of control performance about heigh and direction of the person using kiosk system.

  • Maglev using EMS becomes unstable by unexpected big air-gap disturbance. The main causes of the unexpected air-gap disturbance are step-wise rail joint and large distance between rail splices. For the stable operation of the Maglev, the conventional system uses the threshold method, which selects one gap sensor among two gap sensors installed on the magnet to read the gap between magnet and guide rail. But the threshold method with a wide bandwidth makes the discontinuous air-gap signal at the rail joints because of the offset in air gap sensors and/or the step-wise rail joins. Further more, in the case of the one with a narrow bend-width, it makes Maglev system unstable because of frequent alternation. In this paper, a new method using fuzzy rule to reduce air-gap disturbances proposed to improve the stability of Maglev system. It treats the air-gap signal from dual gap sensors effectively to make continuous signal without air gap disturbance. Simulation and experiment results proved that the proposed scheme was effective to reduce air-gap disturbance from dual gap sensors in rail joints.
