  • This paper proposes a method for pattern recognition using spectral analysis and a hybrid genetic-neural-fuzzy networks. The feature vectors using spectral analysis on contour sequences of 2-D images are extracted, and the vectors are not effected by translation, rotation and scale variance. A combined model using the advantages of conventional method is proposed, those are supervised learning BP, global searching genetic algorithm, and unsupervised learning fuzzy c-method. The proposed method is applied to 10 aircraft recognition to confirm the performance of the method. The experimental results show that the proposed method is better accuracy than conventional method using BP or fuzzy c-method, and learning speed is enhanced.

  • In this paper, robust stability analysis for the fuzzy feedback linearization regulator is presented. Well-known Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy model is used as the MISO nonlinear plant model. Uncertainty and disturbance are assumed to be included in the model structure with known bounds. For these structured uncertainty and disturbances, robust stability of the close system is analyzed in both input-output sense and Lyapunov sense. The robust stability conditions are proposed by using multivariable circle criterion and the relationship between input-output stability and Lyapunov stability. The proposed stability analysis is illustrated by a simple example.

  • The widespread use of Cloud Computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and social media in the Information Communication Technology (ICT) field has resulted in continuous and unavoidable cyber-attacks on users and critical infrastructures worldwide. Traditional security measures such as firewalls and encryption systems are not effective in countering these sophisticated cyber-attacks. Therefore, Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (IDPS) are necessary to reduce the risk to an absolute minimum. Although IDPSs can detect various types of cyber-attacks with high accuracy, their performance is limited by a high false alarm rate. This study proposes a new technique called Fuzzy Logic - Objective Risk Analysis (FLORA) that can significantly reduce false positive alarm rates and maintain a high level of security against serious cyber-attacks. The FLORA model has a high fuzzy accuracy rate of 90.11% and can predict vulnerabilities with a high level of certainty. It also has a mechanism for monitoring and recording digital forensic evidence which can be used in legal prosecution proceedings in different jurisdictions.

  • A novel approach for analysis of criticality with respect to path and to activity in networks with fuzzy activity durations is proposed. After recalling the Yager ranking method, the relative degree of criticality of activities and paths are defined. An efficient algorithm based on path enumeration to compute the relative degree of criticality of activities and paths in networks with fuzzy durations is proposed. Examples of former researches are employed to validate the proposed approach. The proposed algorithm has been tested on real world project networks and experimental results have shown that the algorithm can calculate the relative degree of criticality of activities and paths in a reasonable time.

  • Conventional fault tree analysis has several problems as the estimations and tolerances of the failure probability values. To overcome these problems, fuzzy concepts with natural language can be applied to conventional fault tree analysis. And, we propose the evaluation method of the imprecision of top/basic events and possibility importances of basic events.

  • A program for integrated gene expression profile analysis such as hierarchical clustering, K-means, fuzzy c-means, self-organizing map(SOM), principal component analysis(PCA), and singular value decomposition(SVD) was made for DNA chip data anlysis by using Matlab. It also contained the normalization method of gene expression input data. The integrated data anlysis program could be effectively used in DNA chip data analysis and help researchers to get more comprehensive analysis view on gene expression data of their own.

  • In this paper, we conducted a conventional regression and fuzzy regression analysis of the core competencies of construction subcontractors. The study was undertaken to check whether these two types of regression core capabilities affect the rating of construction subcontractor. Conventional regression result showed some effect on the rating of construction subcontractors on which core competencies to management and firm contribution were conducted. With fuzzy regression analysis, on the other hand, the rating of construction subcontractors could see the Min and Conjunction problem which utilize 100% reliability of Min. Max and Conjunction. From the above, the dependent variable of conventional regression could determine the evaluation grade of construction subcontractor. The fuzzy regression analysis shows the estimator of evaluation grade of the construction subcontractor including or corresponding to the fuzzy output data.

  • Although the fuzzy logic controller(FLC) has been adopted in many engineering applications, its performance is not guaranteed since there is no definite theoretic analysis. It may be the main factor that one hesitates to adopt the FLC in critical applications. In this paper, observing the similarity in the pattern of control input between the FLC and a conventional robust controller, i.e., the variable structure controller, we present theoretic analysis for robustness of a fuzzy control system based on the Lyapunov theory.

  • This paper is concerned with a stability analysis of Madam Type fuzzy systems. It Introduces the canonical form of an unforced fuzzy system and its stability theorem suggested in the previous study. Then it gives new simplified stability conditions based on the Lyapunov function method. A common positive definite matrix in the stability conditions is searched by the LMI method.

  • In recent years, many studies have been conducted on fuzzy control since it can surpass the conventional control in several respects. In this paper, a novel approach to the stability analysis of the continuous-time affine Takagi-Sugeno fuzzy control system is proposed. The suggested analysis method is easily implemented by the recently spotlighted convex optimization techniques called Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMI).
