  • Recently, a wide variety of studies on future learning have appeared owing to rapid advances in information and communication technology (ICT) and increased discussion about core competencies in twenty-first-century learning. These studies, though insufficient in number, cover various fields such as architecture (design of the learning space), education (learning model), and technology (adaptation of mobile devices). However, these studies focus on mainstream students and do not discuss the future situation of inclusive education with regard to both mainstream and students with physical disabilities. Hence, in order to fill this gap, the present study explores the perceptions and ideas held by special education preservice teachers on the future learning space with regard to school design and peer-to-peer feedback. For this purpose, these preservice teachers' design proposals about future school were collected and analyzed. In conclusion, special education preservice teachers perceive the future learning space as an inclusive environment in which smart technology is incorporated. Future learning environment were categorized in terms of flexible, ubiquitous technology, physical and mental health, safety, and spaces with facilities for students with physical disabilities.

Also, the rate recognizing global environment change from now to the future as negative. The environment recognition should be changed as that the university students can imagine the human live together with the nature in the image of future global environment. The environment education find out and practice the method that human can co-exist together to the direction of co-exist with the nature. Also, the rate internalizing future global environment as the space the human amends for non-science majored university students. This result is interpreted as shown the point of view that the global environment can be improved by the human activity, and it suggests the direction of environment education the university should supply. The environment education direction should be converted from the eduction of environment or the eduction from environment to the education for environment. • The purpose of this study was to investigate the perspectives of pre-service elementary teachers on science education of future by using Draw-A-Science-Teacher-Test Checklist and open-ended questionnaire. The subjects of this study were 136 pre-service elementary teachers. The results of the research are as follows. The pre-service teachers thought that the physical environment reflecting the latest science and technology for science education will be developed in the future. However, few respondents indicated that student-centered equipment or a free and creative classroom environment would be provided. Second, they predicted that there would be changes in teacher's activities due to the introduction of advanced facilities and equipment, but most of the other teachers' activities were thought to be similar to those of current teachers. Third, the pre-service elementary teachers thought that a variety of new technologies would be used in science education and science teachers would mainly teach high-technology, IT technology, science knowledge, and newly discovered science concepts. In addition, we found that pre-service elementary teachers' images were more 'teacher-centered' than 'student-centered'. These results show that pre-service elementary teachers are expected to utilize the latest science and technology actively in science education in 2030 and that it will lead to changes in the physical environment, teachers' activities, education contents, and teaching and learning methods. In addition, they viewed acquisition of science concept as an important goal of science education in the future and had different points of view from the current science education curriculum and scholars' emphasis on educational research for the future.

  • For smart defense innovation, the key is to apply state-of-the-art technologies of the Fourth Industrial Revolution to national defense. In order to apply state-of-the-art technology to the defense sector, we need to apply and develop technologies to analyze and respond to uncertain future operational environments. To this end, our military is investing a lot of time and effort. To understand future operational environment analysis and to apply and develop our military, we explored the perspectives of operational environment analysis in major countries and studied specific cases of U.S. troops with systematic analysis functions. The U.S. Army has established a cooperative system to analyze future operational environment under the leadership of the Education Command and operates the organization organically. It also utilizes the collective intelligence of expert groups in various fields by utilizing the MSC, and it is time for the Korean military to take the lead in keeping with the era of transformation. To that end, the organization of the U.S. Education Command should be benchmarked and the Korean Future Operation Environment Analysis Organization should be established and operated. Through this study, we have developed an understanding of the future operational environment analysis system of the U.S. Army and presented a plan to apply the ROK MND.

  • The progress of environmental science and technology in the developed countries has been rapid in recent years. Particularly remarkable has been the advancement of various pollutant control measures, which have brought the pollution of inorganic factors such as air and water under control. In contrast, diversity of the ecosphere, of which man is a part, is being steadily impoverished and the biological community is getting unvaryingly uniform. These phenomena were brought about by the expansion of artificial environment such as new industrial complexes, transportation facilities and urban development. Man has constructed uniform and artificial environment, believing in the premise of confrontation with nature, to such a scale that the natural environment and biological community have lost their balance. This will increasingly endanger the soundness of the biotic environment of nature, which constitutes the potential foundation both for the survival environment of man as biological entity and for the development of human civilization. In order to guarantee the soundness of man's body, intelligence and sensitivity as wholesome gene pool on the earth and for the future of man, primarily important environmental education is the understanding of how man can everlasting exist in and with the survival environment. In view of this reality, it is vitally important to create ecologically diverse and well-balanced environment with living materials, i.e., vegetation in order to secure lasting survival environment for man. This task is urgently required in highly artificial environment where non-biological materials have forced the impoverishment of the biological community. Therefore, environmental education for the future should not be totally oriented to technology as that in the past nor it is limited to the medical aspect where well-being of human is the sole object of concern. That is to say, environmental education for the future should be one that provides knowledge that human can understand his place based on the ecological concept and thereby make him to have ethical consciousness that he can control his behavior within the reasonable level for ecological niche who he is located.
