  • In order to systematically apply major technologies of the 4th Industrial Revolution to aerospace power development, an aerospace technology model is needed. The Propeller Model, which is an existing aerospace model, is a concept that operates a combination of altitude, speed, and distance, which are basic characteristics of aerospace. However, in the era of the 4th Industrial Revolution, a new model is needed because numerous technologies are used in convergence. In this paper, a jet engine model is proposed as a new aerospace technology model. Also, we propose a procedure for creating future aerospace weapon systems based on aerospace technology modeling, not on operational capability. The utilization of future battlefields and the study of the concept of advanced weapon systems in developed countries can create a new concept of weapon systems.

  • The microalgae, Microcystis aeruginosa are able to proliferate in a wide range of freshwater ecosystem. M. aeruginosa was cultivated in 25 L and 240 L race-way reactor containing modified medium with added urea 0.2 g/L, increased $Fe^{+2}$, and decreased $Ca^{+2}$ion compared to BG11 medium. Sugar contents of M. aeruginosa grown in BG11 medium, and modified medium were 120 mg/mL and 140 mg/mL respectively. Fermentation was conducted with the extract of M. aeruginosa at $30^{\circ}C$ for 30 h, using Saccharomyces cerevisiae (Sc), Pichia stipitis (Ps), Zymomonas mobilis (Zm), and mixed-culture of these strains (Sc + Ps + Zm). Pichia stipitis (0.7%) was found to be more suitable for producing bioalcohol from M. aeruginosa extract than other strains of Saccharomyces cerevisiae (0.45%) and Zymomonas mobilis (0.61%), while mixed-cultured of these strains showed higest productivity by 1.75%. Biomass of M. aeruginosa contains the potency to be the most renewable resource for bioalcohol fermentation.

  • 1. CONTENTS 1) RESEARCH OBJECTIVES The purpose of the study was to propose a future oriented urban space production strategy to offer diverse useful services to citizens to improve international competitiveness of cities in the times of competition that competitive subjects were changed from competition among countries to competition among cities. 2) RESEARCH METHOD In the proposed future-oriented urban space production strategy, the study compared/analyzed main plans related to development of urban space by selecting CBD(Jung-gu) of Busan out of local metropolises in South Korea. 3) RESEARCH FINDINGS In the proposed future-oriented urban space production strategy, the study largely sorted city's function into four scopes function of industrial support, function of social support, function of living support and function of urban infrastructure. 2. RESULTS It is expected that the proposed future oriented urban space production strategy will be utilized as a useful reference model when a lot of local governments, planning a ubiquitous urban space, establish a plan for constructing a ubiquitous urban space.

  • Recently many disadvantageous problems have been found during the process of domestic LRT(Light Rail Transit) projects and that can influence negative effects on the development of domestic railway. Since many projects have been progressed while having few original technologies, it is no exaggeration to say that they are being built unreasonable railway which lacks economic feasibility. The on-going LRT projects which are being carried out by the central or local government have a tendency to favor the systems and rolling stocks that have been approved by other countries through years of experience, therefore it can be said that we are having few chances to develop original technologies. In this study, we would like to promote railway development and jump up to the level of advanced railway standards through developing our unique and independent future LRT technology.

  • M&S (Modeling & Simulation) based design is widely accepted for the development of the future weapon system with better performance in a cheaper and faster way. Integrated simulation environment (ISE) is needed for the M&S based design. On the ISE, system engineers can not only verify design options but also validate system requirements. In this paper, we propose architectural models of the integrated simulation environment (ISE) which incorporates mission effectiveness M&S (Modeling & Simulation), system performance M&S, the optimization model of integrated performances, digital mockup and virtual prototype. The ISE architectural models may be used to implement the ISE for the development of the future unmanned ground combat vehicle.

  • Increasing demand in developing countries for animal sources of food including red meat is predicted to double by 2050. In Indonesia, there has always been a gap between supply and demand of beef with national beef production only satisfying about 45% of demand. This paper aims to describe the current features and prospects for beef production systems in Indonesia. The first part of the article reviews and analyses Indonesian beef cattle production systems. The second part addresses issues related to the current systems for beef production that could become important for future development of the beef industry in Indonesia. Recommendations to improve breeding and reproduction, to empower smallholder farmers, to improve the capacity of industry-related institutions to enhance technology transfer, and to develop systems for industry development such as integration of palm oil or plantations with beef cattle production are briefly discussed.

  • In this review paper, basic configurations of gamma detectors in SPECT and PET systems were reviewed together with key performance parameters of the imaging system, such as the detection efficiency, the spatial resolution, the contrast resolution, and the data acquisition time for quick understanding of the system-component relationship and future design of advanced systems. Also key elements of SPECT and PET detectors, such as collimators, gamma detectors were discussed in conjunction with their current and future trend. Especially development trend of new scintillation crystals, innovative silicon-based photo-sensors and futuristic room-temperature semiconductor detectors were reviewed for researchers who are interested in the development of future nuclear medical imaging instruments.
