For the effective development or preservation of Tokdo, the natural environments in the ambient sea area should be well investigated. The wave deformations and wave breaking in the vicinity have much affected the bottom morphology of Tokdo as well as its ecological environment. The present study investigates the wave deformations and wave breaking through a numerical model. The final goal is to provide the fundamental wave data for the effective development or preservation of Tokdo in future. The extended mild slope equation was applied to Tokdo sea area for three different deep water wave conditions (S, SSE, NNE directions). The results showed that for the S and SSE directions the wave heights in the area between the east island and the west island were very low with the level of 1~2m, but for the NNE direction they appeared pretty high with 3~4m, In the sea area near the northwest of west island, the wave heights were low to be 1~3m for all three directions of deep water wave.

The objectives of this study were to identify present status of services for upbringing young farmers, and to suggest development directions for upbringing full-time young farmers in Korea. The present status of services for upbringing full-time young was not sufficient, and needed to be improved. The future development directions suggested by the researchers were : 1) to build integrated upbringing service policy ; 2) to systematize upbringing services ; 3) to share the roles of institutions that concerned with the service ; and 4) to reinforce and coordinate activities of various organizations for upbringing full-time young farmers.

1. Objectives: We study on indications and directions of Euphorbiae Kansui Liou ex Wang in Sasang Constitutional Medicine by applications of Euphorbiae Kansui Liou ex Wang. 2. Methods: We analyzed indications and directions by bibliographical applications of Radix Euphorbiae Kansui Liou ex Wang in Traditional Oriental Medicine and Sasang Constitutional Medicine. 3. Results and Conclusions: 1) Euphorbiae Kansui Liou ex Wang is used for various indications which are congested fluids, accumulation, edema, and etc in Traditional Oriental Medicine and Sasang Constitutional Medicine. 2) In Sasang Constitutional Medicine, Euphorbiae Kansui Liou ex Wang is taken by powder in a single-medicine prescriptions and taken with calomelas by powder and tablet in prescriptions, and we have need of clinical study of Radix Euphorbiae Kansui in the future.

The purposes of this study were to analyze achievement of the Korea Agricultural Extension Specialist Association and suggest new directions for further development. The Korea Agricultural Extension Specialist Association was organized to develop competencies in specialized field for extension educators in 1996. About 47% of extension educators joined academy during the 5 year period, even though there were many difficulty in organizing extension educators, the Korea Agricultural Extension Specialist Association has achieved to increase independent learning activity, to share new information and improve agent’s competency. New directions for the future development of the Korea Agricultural Extension Specialist Association activities should include the following measures; 1) Academy manages to help member’s competency, 2) Every member of the Association tries to make a concrete goal of activity, 3) The Association members should find ways to enable farmers to remain informed on agricultural extension services to people.

This paper proposes strategy development to improve the management of Multicultural Family Support Centers by analyzing four Multicultural Family Support Centers (MFSCs) in Chungcheongnam-do. The research was conducted from September 2012 to January 2013. Future directions for the four MFSCs are established based on a SWOT analysis on both the internal and external environments of the centers. Various strategic directions for the four MFSCs were identified based on these analyses. For center A (urban type, college contract type), the strategic directions included the specialization strategy, systemization strategy, empowerment strategy, standardization strategy, and achievement maximization strategy. The strategic directions for center B (urban-rural combined type, social welfare center contract type) included the improvement of multiculture awareness, specialization strategy, human resource development strategy, and networking strategy. For center C (farming and fishing community type, direct management type by local authority), the strategic directions included the specialization strategy, activation strategy, qualification strategy, and networking strategy. For center D (farming and fishing community type, social welfare center contract type), the strategic directions included the specialization strategy, business standardization strategy, human resource development strategy, and network expansion strategy. The suggested management strategy development for the four MFSCs can provide implications for the management of MFSCs in other areas in Korea.

The domestic simple payment service was not activated yet compared to foreign countries and there are many things to complement in the legal, institutional, and technical aspects. The future image of the domestic electronic payment propulsion was considered by the scenario planning focusing on the simple payment. Total 6 future scenarios were drawn through the scenario planning, and 3 major strategy directions for attaining the preferred future scenario were drawn. This study drew a meaningful scenario through various analyses and industry specialist questionnaire about the future of the simple payment service which will be a crucial change of the domestic electronic payment under the uncertain future situation, and suggested an implication for the government and every interested party who provides the industrial service to prepare for the future.

The study aims to identify the generation and treatment of fishery by-products in Korea and suggests future directions and strategies for their eco-friendly utilization and industrialization. First, the study focuses on the identification of the generation and their treatment in Korea since merely few study were conducted and they did not provide enough information regarding the overall generation and treatment at the national level. According to the estimation, Korea generates 800 thousand to 1,200 thousand tones of fishery by-product every year. The fishery by-products generated at large seafood markets and processing facilities are used or processed as fish meal and feed, but those generated from households and small seafood restaurants are currently treated as food waste. In addition, inadequately treated fishery by-products cause various problems such as spoiling urban landscape, creating odor and incubating pest. After identifying the generation and treatment of fishery by-products, the study suggests directions for the formulation of infrastructure for transition into resource circulation society, minimization of dumped waste and their eco-friendly recycling as resources, diversification of recycled goods and development into a high-value added industry. Finally, the study suggests detailed strategies for the directions such as establishment of legal and institutional foundation, separation of fishery by-products from wastes, development of technology tailored for commercialization, introduction of pilot projects for industrialization and cultivation of social enterprises.

The purposes of this paper are to examine the mechanism of the new economic spaces and to suggest directions of geographical research in the knowledge-based information society. It introduces the background of the formation of the new economic spaces and examines network, embeddedness, and agglomeration and dispersion as mechanisms of the new economic spaces. Based on the result of case studies of Kangnam area, the most active innovation region in Korea, and of Sunchang, one of the backward regions in Korea, the paper points out that new economic spaces are now developing even in the peripheral areas. Considering the result of theoretical discussions and case studies, the paper suggests three directions for future geographical research such as research from a integrative viewpoint, development of new methodologies of geographical research, and policy directed research in geography.

This study reviews on the classification of the scientific visualization and the tools in ocean-atmospheric sciences. We have classified scientific visualization according to the purpose and data size; the visualization tools used commonly in the field are also enlisted. The examples of visualization using scalar and vector data are presented, and their distinctions are noted. Lastly, it is contemplated on the near future trend in the field and provided future directions.

As the industrial environment becomes more competitive, supply chain management (SCM) has become recognized as a major strategy in the business world. Some of current researches are categorized into review papers, deterministic models, stochastic models, simulation models and discussed in this paper. A hybrid approach combining analytic model and simulation model and the simulation optimization method are proposed as future research areas with other analytical subjects.
