  • The number of one person households has grown steadily over the recent past and the population of lonely and unnoticed death are also observed. The phenomenon of one person households has been occurred. In the dark side of society, the remarkable number of lonely and unnoticed death are reported among different age-groups. We propose an unusual event detection method which may give a remarkable solution to reduce the number of the death rete for people dying alone and remaining undiscovered for a long period of time. The unusual event detection method we suggested to identify abnormal user behavior in their lives using vision pattern, audio pattern, and dust pattern algorithms. Individually proposed pattern algorithms have disadvantages of not being able to detect when they leave the coverage area. We utilized a fusion method to improve the accuracy performance of each pattern algorithm and evaluated the technique with multiple user behavior patterns in indoor areas.

  • To obtain tunnel concrete safety in case of fire, this study analyzed fire proof characteristics by fire proof method change, and the results are as follows. As a fire proof characteristics by RABT temperature heating curve, plain concrete experienced severe spalling by initial extremely high temperature. In view of fire proof method, in the cases of organic fiber mixing method and board method, spalling was prevented, and in the case of spray method, severe spalling of over 100mm depth occurred along with exposure of structural concrete including spray coat by heat stress, etc while metal lath, the stiffener, falls off. As for fire proof characteristics by RWS temperature heating curve, in case of organic fiber inclusion, concrete surface experienced fusion of within 5mm, while in the case of spray method, spray coat was severely spalled to a depth of over 100mm causing structural body concrete to expose its reinforcement, and also in the case of board method, board was fused by high temperature, causing structural body concrete be directly exposed to high temperature, which triggered overall fall-off phenomenon, so in such extraordinary high temperature heating condition, establishment of special fire proof measures is needed.

  • Shadow is a physical phenomenon observed in natural scenes and has a negative effect on various image processing systems such as intelligent video surveillance, traffic surveillance and aerial imagery analysis. Therefore, shadow detection should be considered as a preprocessing process in all areas of computer vision. In this paper, we define and analyze various feature elements for shadow detection in a single natural image that does not require a reference image. The shadow elements describe the intensity, chromaticity, illuminant-invariant, color invariance, and entropy image, which indicate the uncertainty of the information. The results show that the chromaticity and illuminant-invariant images are effective for shadow detection. In the future, we will define a fusion map of various shadow feature elements, and continue to study shadow detection that can adapt to various lighting levels, and shadow removal using chromaticity and illuminance invariant images.

  • Nuclear power plant's safety against seismic events is evaluated as risk values by probabilistic seismic safety assessment. The risk values vary by the seismic failure correlation between the structures, systems, and components (SSCs). However, most probabilistic seismic safety assessments idealized the seismic failure correlation between the SSCs as entirely dependent or independent. Such a consideration results in an inaccurate assessment result not reflecting real physical phenomenon. A nuclear power plant's seismic risk should be calculated with the appropriate seismic failure correlation coefficient between the SSCs for a reasonable outcome. An accident scenario that has an enormous impact on a nuclear power plant's seismic risk was selected. Moreover, the probabilistic seismic response analyses of a nuclear power plant were performed to derive appropriate seismic failure correlations between SSCs. Based on the analysis results, the seismic failure correlation coefficient between SSCs was derived, and the seismic fragility curve and core damage frequency of the loss of essential power event were calculated. Results were compared with the seismic fragility and core damage frequency of assuming the seismic failure correlations between SSCs were independent and entirely dependent.

  • This study suggests the direction of management theory education in business administration under the university-linked program of Korean work and study in parallel policy. As a social science, business education is essentially to cultivate people of talent capable of making the right decisions in the social phenomenon (business practices) rather than educate skills for solving a specific issue. At the same time, the parallel system is aimed at cultivating talented people who can work practically in the real field. Therefore, practical education and theoretical education should be linked organically, and the theoretical education should be layered. Also, management education should be guaranteed to be timely and cultivate fusion thinking. Based on this background, this study is expected to contribute to the upgrading of the parallel system and education level in the future by reviewing the curriculum of the business administration department of domestic universities.

  • Launched in 2017, Loewe Craft Prize is now establishing itself as the most prestigious craft contest in the world. In this study, we noted the background behind the Loewe Craft Prize, which started with a luxury brand, developing into the best contest covering all crafts in a short period of four years. In crafts with various contests around the world, Loewe Craft Prize's interest in craft, which has no limitations on genre diversity and materials, is a result of no contest. This is possible by forming and developing a complex contest, which is differentiated from the existing single-material contest and the distinct values of the crafts possessed by Loewe Craft Prize. In this study, the background of this result was the convergence of materials, the fusion of tradition and modernity, and the convergence of science and crafts, and the tendency of writers and the flow of modern crafts through their works. We also want to find out how the meaning of the expansion of the craft genre affects modern crafts.

  • A nuclear power plant (NPP) piping is designed against low-frequency earthquakes. However, earthquakes that can occur at NPP sites in the eastern part of the United States, northern Europe, and Korea are high-frequency earthquakes. Therefore, this study conducts bi-directional shaking table tests on actual-scale NPP piping and studies the response characteristics of low- and high-frequency earthquake motions. Such response characteristics are analyzed by comparing several responses that occur in the piping. Also, based on the test results, a piping numerical analysis model is developed and validated. The piping seismic performance under high-frequency earthquakes is derived. Consequently, the high-frequency excitation caused a large amplification in the measured peak acceleration responses compared to the low-frequency excitation. Conversely, concerning relative displacements, strains, and normal stresses, low-frequency excitation responses were larger than high-frequency excitation responses. Main peak relative displacements and peak normal stresses were 60%-69% and 24%-49% smaller in the high-frequency earthquake response than the low-frequency earthquake response. This phenomenon was noticeable when the earthquake motion intensity was large. The piping numerical model simulated the main natural frequencies and relative displacement responses well. Finally, for the stress limit state, the seismic performance for high-frequency earthquakes was about 2.7 times greater than for low-frequency earthquakes.

  • Seismic qualifications of electrical equipment, such as cabinet systems, have been emerging as the key area of nuclear power plants in Korea since the 2016 Gyeongju earthquake, including the high-frequency domain. In addition, electrical equipment was sensitive to the high-frequency ground motions during the past earthquake. Therefore, this paper presents the rocking behavior of the electrical cabinet system subjected to Reg. 1.60 and UHS. The high fidelity finite element (FE) model of the cabinet related to the shaking table test data was developed. In particular, the first two global modes of the cabinet from the experimental test were 16 Hz and 24 Hz, respectively. In addition, 30.05 Hz and 37.5 Hz were determined to be the first two local modes in the cabinet. The high fidelity FE model of the cabinet using the ABAQUS platform was extremely reconciled with shaking table tests. As a result, the dynamic properties of the cabinet were sensitive to electrical instruments, such as relays and switchboards, during the shaking table test. In addition, the amplification with respect to the vibration transfer function of the cabinet was observed on the third floor in the cabinet due to localized impact corresponding to the rocking phenomenon of the cabinet under Reg.1.60 and UHS. Overall, the rocking of the cabinet system can be caused by the low-frequency oscillations and higher peak horizontal acceleration.

  • Helium cooled solid breeder blanket as an important blanket candidate of the Tokamak fusion reactor uses ceramic pebble bed for tritium breeding. Considering the poor effective thermal conductivity of the ceramic breeder pebble bed, thin structure of tritium breeder pebble bed is usually adopted in the blanket design. The container wall has a great influence on the thin pebble bed packing structure, especially for the assembly of mono-sized particles, and thin pebble bed will appear anisotropic effective thermal conductivity phenomenon. In this paper, thin ceramic pebble beds composed of 1 mm diameter Li4SiO4 particles are generated by the EDEM 2.7. The effective thermal conductivity of different thickness pebble beds in the three-dimensional directions are analyzed by three-dimensional thermal network method. It is observed that thin Li4SiO4 pebble bed showing anisotropic effective thermal conductivity under the practical design size. Normally, the effective thermal conductivity along the bed vertical direction is higher than the horizontal direction due to the gravity effect. As the thickness increases from 10 mm to 40 mm, the effective thermal conductivity of the pebble bed gradually increases.

  • Under the background of globalization, the borderless nature of film and television language makes the exchange of film as the carrier become an important part of cultural exchanges in various countries. Therefore, film co-production between China and the United States, China and Japan, China and South Korea and other countries has become an important part of the current Chinese film industry. Among them, China and South Korea are close neighbors, and the exchanges between the two countries' films are also increasing. Korean movies have recovered since the 1990s, and they prospered at the beginning of the 21st century, and have formed a unique influence in the international community, especially in crime, suspense, love and other types of films. The co-production of Chinese and Korean films began to appear in 2000, and the signing of the "China-Korea Co-production Film Agreement" in 2014 prompted the rapid convergence of Chinese and Korean film co-productions. However, the co-productions of China and South Korea did not achieve good expectations in terms of communication effects and market evaluation. This article will use the "cultural discount" theory in cross-cultural communication to analyze the reasons for the cultural discounts produced by Chinese and Korean co-productions and how to avoid this phenomenon to the maximum extent.
