The purpose of this study was to investigate the information search behavior in functional sportswear purchasing by clothing and sports concern variables. Functional sportswear means sportswear made of functional clothing materials. The information search behavior in this study included information sources, information seeking attributes, information search differences between when consumers buy functional sportswear and when they purchase nonfunctional sportswear, and information characteristics. For this purpose, 500 questionnaires had been distributed to university students and 409 of which were used in the study. For data analysis, frequency, reliability analysis, factor analysis, and t-test were used. The results were as follows: first, the friends showed to be the most effective information source of functional clothing materials sportswear and internet revealed to be the information source that made the most frequent use of. The experts appeared to be the most reliable information source. Second, the more the students were concerned about clothing and sports, the more important they considered information seeking attributes. Third, in the aspects of information search differences between when consumers bought functional sportswear and when they purchased nonfunctional sportswear, only sports concern variables showed to be significant. The last, regardless of clothing and sports concern variables, it was found that customers considered all the information characteristics important.
Purpose: Consumers' experience of functional attributes is remembered, and the experience lowers the cost of consumers' input from their point of view and reduces uncertainty. It also plays an important role in consumers' positive emotions and responses. Accordingly, if information search costs are reduced in terms of the costs perceived by consumers about restaurants, a strategy differentiated from other companies can be established. Therefore, this study investigated the effect of functional congruence of restaurant stores on information search cost reduction, positive/negative emotions, and loyalty. Research Design, Data, and Methodology: This study investigated functional congruence, information search cost reduction, and positive/negative emotions. The structural relationship between loyalty was analyzed. To verify this, a research hypothesis was established based on previous studies and a research model was constructed. The questionnaire items were modified and used according to the current study, based on previous studies. The data were collected using the questionnaire method from 187 people who had dining out experience. Frequency analysis was performed to confirm demographic characteristics. Reliability, convergent validity, and discriminant validity of the collected data were verified. The research model was analyzed with a structural equation modeling (SmartPLS 4). Results: The findings show that functional congruence had significant positive effects on information search cost reduction and positive emotion, but no significant effect on negative emotion. Information search cost reduction had significant positive effects on positive emotion/negative emotion but did not significantly affect loyalty. Lastly, both positive and negative emotions had significant positive effects on loyalty. Conclusion: Based on transaction cost theory, this study found how functional congruence and information search cost reduction influence consumers' emotions. The functional attributes of restaurants were perceived by customers as information, thus uncertainty was decreased. Finally, appropriate management strategies and implications of functional congruence and information search cost in the restaurant were suggested.
Requirements traceability is regarded as one of the important quality attributes in software requirements engineering field. If requirements traceability is guaranteed then we can trace the requirements' life throughout all the phases, from the customers' needs in the early stage of the project to requirements specification, deployment, and maintenance phase. This includes not only tracking the development artifacts that accompany the requirements, but also tracking backwards from the development artifacts to the initial customer requirements associated with them. In this paper, especially, we dealt with the traceability between functional requirements and non-functional requirements. Among many Information Retrieval (IR) techniques, we decided to utilize Latent Semantic Indexing (LSI) and Latent Dirichlet Allocation (LDA) in our research. Ultimately, we conducted an experiment on constructing traceability by using two techniques and analyzed the experiment results. And then we provided a comparative study between two IR techniques in constructing traceability between functional requirements and non-functional requirements.
In Korea, recent trends indicate an increase in the volume of the functional clothing market. This study investigated the evaluative criteria and information sources of functional clothing according to gender and age. A total of 756 responses were analyzed using descriptive statistics, MANOVA, and Duncan's test. The main effect of gender on the evaluative criteria and information sources of functional clothing was identified. Compared with male consumers, female consumers gave more importance to price and aesthetic criteria. Female consumers take advice from colleagues and companions, as well as use information obtained from mass media to a greater extent than male consumers. Age was seen to have an effect on evaluative criteria and information sources in purchasing functional clothing. Respondents in their forties and fifties took textile quality and durability more seriously. Information available on the Internet and following the dressing styles of celebrities were preferred by respondents in their twenties.
This study examined health-functional foods intake pattern of consumers and their recognition of it to prepare a guide for the foods. The data were collected from the adults living in Busan and Gyeongnam through a self-administered questionnaire from September sixth to September thirteenth, 2005. The results of this study were as follows: Most respondents have taken one health-functional food, mainly on purpose to maintain and improve overall health condition. The average of monthly cost to purchase the foods was 79,933 Korean won, and drugstores were the main purchasing place. The value perception about health-functional foods was at the middle, and the recognition level of Health Functional Foods Act established in 2002 was very low. The most important source of information regarding health-functional foods was family, relatives and friends, and two-fifths respondents had difficulties in obtaining information. These results imply that consumers should consult with experts before they take health-functional foods and that public information regarding Health Functional Foods Act should be given to consumers.
Th. M. Rassias obtained the Hyers-Ulam stability of the general Euler-Lagrange functional equation. In this paper we prove the stability of generlized Euler-Lagrange functional equations in the spirit of Hyers, Ulam, Rassias and G$\breve{a}$vruta.
Functional genomics aims at uncovering useful information carried on genome sequences and at using it to understand the mechanisms of biological function. Elucidating the unknown biological functions of new genes based upon the genomics rationales will greatly speed up the extensive understanding of biocatalysis and biodegradation in biological world including microorganisms. DNA microarrays generate a system for the simultaneous measurement of the expression level of thousands of genes in a single hybridization assay. Their data mining (transcriptome) strategy has two categories: differential gene expression and coordinated gene expression. Furthermore, measurement of proteins (proteome) generates information on how the transcribed sequences end up as functional characteristics within the cell, and quantitation of metabolites yields information on how the functional proteins act to produce energy and process substrates (metabolome). Various composite functional genomics databases containing genetic, enzymatic and metabolic information have been developed and will contribute to the understanding of the life blue print and the new discoveries and practices in biocatalysis and biodegradation that could enrich their industrial and environmental applications.
As the importance of non-functional requirements has increased, many researchers have become interested in the software development process for non-functional requirements including the notation, modeling, and assessment of non-functional requirements. However, the characteristics of non-functional requirements are so sophisticated and there are many topics which have not been solved until now. In order to address one of the unsolved problems, we propose a systematic software development process to support the management of non-functional requirements. The process consists of six steps, each of which is composed of detailed activities. Using the proposed process, the non-functional requirements can be managed and modeled more effectively and systematically than previous ones.
