  • This paper proposes a new power conditioning system for the fuel cell power generation, which consists of a LLC resonant DC-DC converter and 3-phase inverter. The LLC resonant converter boosts the fuel cell voltage of 26-48V up to 400V, using the hard-switching boost converter and the high-frequency ZVS half-bridge converter. The operation of proposed power conditioning system was verified through simulations with PSCAD/EMTDC software. The feasibility of hardware implementation was verified through experimental works with a laboratory prototype, which was built with 1.2kW PEM fuel-cell stack, 1kW LLC resonant converter, and 3kW PWM inverter. The proposed system can be utilized to commercialize a real interconnection system for the fuel-cell power generation.

  • This study proposes a design method of fuel cell DC/DC converter using in 5-ton forklift. For efficient hydrogen usage, targeted fuel cell system recirculates discarded hydrogen after fuel cell reaction. Recirculating hydrogen contains much impurities that reduces output power, increasing pressure that can damage the internal fuel cell reaction system. The proposed DC/DC converter effectively converts fuel cell power considering the voltage drop rate to reflect the recirculating hydrogen. Then, frequency control method is used to regulate the current ripple amount for battery and fuel cell hybrid configuration. Proposed power converter system design and control methods are verified in a practical fuel cell system that implements recirculating hydrogen.

  • Recently, a fuel cell is remarkable for new generation system. The fuel cell generation system converts the chemical energy of a fuel directly into electrical energy. The fuel cell generation is characterized by low voltage and high current. For connecting to utility, it needs both a step up converter and an inverter. The step up converter makes DC link and the inverter changes DC to AC. In this paper full bridge converter and the single phase inverter are designed and installed for fuel cell. Simulation and experiment verify that fuel cell generation system could be applied for the distributed generation.

  • This paper describes a power control scheme to improve the performance of a fuel cell battery hybrid power source for residential application. The proposed power control scheme includes a power control strategy to control the power flow of the fuel cell hybrid power system and a digital control technique for a front-end dc-dc converter of the fuel cell. The power control strategy enables the fuel cell to operate within the high efficiency region defined by the polarization curve and efficiency curve of the fuel cell. A dual boost converter with digital control is applied as a front-end dc-dc converter to control the fuel cell output power. The digital control technique of the converter employs a moving-average digital filter into its voltage feedback loop to cancel the low frequency harmonic current drawn from the fuel cell and then limits the fuel cell output current to a current limit using a predictive current limiter to keep the fuel cell operation within the high efficiency region as well as to minimize the fuel cell oxygen starvation.

  • In generally Boost Converter is used for Fuel Cell System. Because the output voltage of fuel cell is too small and greatly depends on the load condition, Boost Converter are required to boost and regulate the Fuel Cell voltage for per conversion efficiency. In this Paper, 6-phase Boost Converter is used to boost the Fuel Cell Voltage and regulate the output voltage. Multi phase converter hag some advantages such as low ripple and filter sine. About the Peak Current Control and compare of the Ripple Current of Boost Converter, we have studied.

  • In this paper, a novel DC/DC low-voltage high-current converter circuit is proposed to improve the efficiency of power converter used in the grid-connected fuel-cell generator system. We proposed a novel high efficiency grid-connected power conditioning system for RPG fuel cell. On the result of that, the loss of system was decreased rapidly by driving stack within the condition of maximum efficiency. The peak currents of the current-type inductor and the transformer's coil are reduced by synchronizing switching frequency of Buck-type converter is increased twice as the Push-Pull converter's switching frequency. The novel structure of DC/DC converter is able to realize ZVS-ZCS in fuel-cell system is proposed. The proposed switching component of Push-Pull converter has the ZVS and ZCS function by using the circuit of new passive clamp.

  • In this paper, a new a new full-bridge soft-switching phase shift PWM DC-DC Converter has been proposed, which is suitable for fuel cell based power generation system. The proposed converter has outstanding advantage over the conventional DC-DC converter with respect to high efficiency, high power density, and hish component utilization. In special. the proposed converter has predominant high boosting output voltage and high efficiency characteristics under the inherently severs low output voltage of the fuel cell through the overall load conditions. Moreover, the developed converter has been experimentally tested with the help of a fuel cell simulator, and can generate the V-I characteristics of proton exchange membrane(PEM) fuel cell, so that the performance of the proposed converter could be effectively examined and the validity of the converter could be verified.
