A Study on Consumption-Oriented Attitude and Impulsive Buying of High School Students (고등학생의 소비지향적 태도와 충동구매에 관한 연구)

  • This study explored the level and general propensity of consumption-oriented attitude and impulsive buying behavior of high school students, and clarified factors affecting impulsive buying. The research results can be summarized as follows. 1. The degree of consumption-oriented attitude and impulsive buying behavior of high school students were relatively low. 2. Consumption-oriented attitude was found to have significant differences among students based on monthly allowance, self-esteem, influence of friends, influence of mass media and influence of consumer education at school. Moreover, impulsive buying behavior was found to have significant differences according to sex, level of parents's education, fathers job, monthly household income, monthly allowance, influence of home, influence of friends and influence of mass media. 3. The impulsive buying differed significantly according to consumption-oriented attitude. That is, the group showing a higher degree of consumption-oriented attitude also indicated higher impulsive buying. 4. The variables affecting the level of impulsive buying behavior were the level of consumption-oriented attitude, influence of mass media, influence of friends and sex. In other words, consumption-oriented attitude, influence of mass media and influence of friends had a positive affect, and female students were more apt to impulsive buying than male students.

Education Program Development Based on the Public Data and SNS (공공데이터와 SNS 기반 교육 프로그램 개발)

  • In this research, focusing on the public data access function and the communication function of SNS's, an educational program was implemented for the PC and mobile environments. The program offers functionality to share short messages with friends so that problems can be solved while communicating these messages back and forth. With each visiting page, a method for communication was provided, and each room had a announcements page, Q&A section, discussion forum, and file sharing space to facilitate more communication, and by adding the 'search for friends', and 'recommended friends' functionality, it was possible to study with friends and other unknown people using the program. The applications of the educational program were proposed through the analysis of survey results of elementary and high school students of the program.

A Study on Impact of Reading Role Model Influencing Reading Effectiveness to High Students (독서역할모델이 고등학생의 독서유효성에 미치는 영향 연구)

  • This study analyzes the influences on the reading flow, reading satisfaction, and continuous willingness to read books for parents, teachers, and friends as a reading role model to influence high school students and the differences in the personal characteristics; gender, disciplines, and grade. The result shows that the most important contributor for high school students' reading is friends and male students are more influenced by their friends than female students. In addition, students in vocational high school are more influenced by their friends than students in academic high school. Parents factor relatively affects the reading for male students, 3rd grade students in high school, and students in academic high school. On the other hand, teachers barely affect the reading factors for students.

Children's Social Competence and Emotion Regulation Strategy according to Peer Friendliness (아동의 또래친밀도에 따른 정서조절전략과 사회적능력)

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate children's emotional regulation and social competence in relation with peer friendliness. Specifically, it examined the hypotheses that children's emotion regulation strategies would be different depending on age, gender, and peer friendliness, and that children's emotion regulation strategies would affect their social competences. The subjects were 197 of the second, fourth, and sixth graders in an elementary school located in Gangdong-gu, Seoul. The findings are as follows: first, children's emotion regulation strategies are different according to gender and age. Girls use more 'external response strategy' than boys do. Elder children use more 'internal response strategy' than younger children, and younger children use more 'problem solving strategy' than elder children. Second, children's emotion regulation strategies are different depending on the degree of peer friendliness. Children employ more 'problem solving' and 'internal response' strategies to close friends rather than to just friends. Children used more the strategies as 'request for social support', 'evasion', and 'external response' to just friends rather than to close friends. Finally, children's social competencies are influenced by the strategies of 'problem solving' and 'evasion'.

The Effect of Social Support on Compliance to Dietary Regimen in Noninsulin-Dependent Diabetes Mellitus (사회적지지가 당뇨환자의 식사요법 실천에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of social support on compliance to dietary regimen in noninsulin-dependent diabetes mellitus. Two hundred eighty six adult non-insulin dependent diabetics from Seoul, Kyonggido, Kyongsangbukdo participated in the study. Researchers, dieticians, graduate students majoring in nutrition interviewed patients with a pre-structured questionnaire during June in 1998. The questionnaire included items about demographic factors, general characteristics about diabetes. social support, and compliance to dietary regimen. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA and Pearson's Correlation were used to analyze the data. The mean scores of support from family was 27.0(0∼44). support from relatives, friends, and colleagues was 14.7(0∼32). Mean score of intangible support from family was 19.9(0∼32) and 12.0(0∼24) from relatives, friends, and colleagues. Mean score of tangible support from family was 7.1 (0∼12) and 2.6(0∼8) from relatives, friends, and colleagues. The mean scores for compliance to dietary regimen was 31.6(0∼42). Regardless of type and source, there was significant(p<0.01) correlation between social support and dietary compliance. Therefore, inclusion of family members in nutrition education for diabetics is essential. It is necessary to find ways to increase social support from relatives, friends, and colleagues.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between communication with parents of vocational girls' high school students and their problem behaviors, to find out variables which influence them. Data were collected by the second grade 389 students of vocational girls' high school students in Pusan. Major findings were as follows: 1. Problem behaviors were different according to the type of problem behaviors and behavior frequencies. 2. Problem behaviors were influenced positively by the delinquency of friends and negatively by communication with parents and the successful school life. Communication with parents was influenced positively by the harmonious family atmosphere and the successful school life, negatively by stepparent family. 3. Runaway was influenced negatively by the harmonious family atmosphere and positively by the delinquency of friends. Gang fight was influenced negatively by the successful school life and positively by the delinquency of friends. Sex affairs was influenced positively by the delinquency of frends. Suicide trial was influenced negatively by the harmonious family atmosphere and the delinquency of friends, positively by stepparent family and communication with their parents. Gang fight was influenced by school environmental factors and suicide trial was influenced by family environmental factors.

Internet Addiction a In Correlation to Friendship and Internet Use of Adolescents (청소년의 친구관계와 인터넷 사용에 따른 인터넷 중독)

  • This study analyzes the relation of friendship and internet use on adolescents' internet addiction. The subjects were 117 middle and 106 high school adolescents living in Kwang-ju city. Cronbach'a, t-test, x²-test, ANOVA, Duncan's test were employed in analyzing the data by using SPSS 10.0. The results of this study can be summarized as follows: - First of all, most adolescents had a best friend and maintained an affirmative friendship showing high social function and satisfaction. And it was also found that internet use has been settled as a part of daily life among adolescents and over majority of the subjects reported themselves as internet addicts. - Secondly, boys had more friends than girls, but the frequency of interaction with their friends was lower than for girls. Girls showed higher scores in function and satisfaction with friends than boys. And girls used the internet longer than boys. - Thirdly, variables of internet friends and internet use showed significant differences on internet addiction. Groups using the internet frequently, more than usual, and groups using the internet to relax and enjoy showed significantly higher scores in internet addiction.

  • This study analyzes how game play influences players' future happiness. Survey of 400 juveniles who attended G-star, a game show, was conducted to look into the influence of playing game with friends over players future happiness and their trust level towards others. The result suggests that playing game with friends and trust level towards others have positive influence on the future happiness level. In conclusion, playing game with friends has influence over players future happiness level with trust level towards others as a mediation variable.

Self-disclosure Tendency, Facebook Activities, and Relational Usefulness: Sex Differences in Young Adults (페이스북 친구들의 반응과 관계적 유용성: 자기노출 성향의 영향력과 성별의 조절효과)

  • This study examined the associations among self-disclosure tendency, self-activities and friends' responses on Facebook, and perceived usefulness of Facebook in social networking. Sex differences were also examined. Results showed that participants' self-disclosure tendency was positively related to their activities in Facebook, which were strongly related to friends-activities. Self- and friends-activities significantly increased usefulness in social networking. Regarding sex differences, the relationships between self-disclosure tendency and self-activities and between self-activities and usefulness were stronger for men, while the relationship between friends-activities and usefulness was stronger for women. These results suggest women tend to value friends' responses more in assessing relational qualities than men in Facebook contexts.

The Effect of Social Support from Teachers and Friends on Career Maturity of Technical Meister School Students (교사와 친구의 사회적 지지가 마이스터고 학생의 진로성숙도에 미치는 영향)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of social support from teachers and friends on the career maturity of students at technical meister high schools. The Social Support Scale adjusted by Kim, Hye-Jin(2006) and the Career Maturity Attitude Inventory Scale produced by Lee, Ki-Hak(1997) were administered. The data from 194 were ultimately included to analyze. Corrlational coefficent and multiple regression analysis were performed using SPSS 21.0 statistical package. The results were as follows. First, perceived teachers' social support was higher than friends. Second, the effect of teachers' social support on career maturity was not significant but the effect of social support from friends was found. Among sub-factors of social support from friends, emotional and informative support were found significant effect on career maturity. The implication of these results were discussed in terms of career counseling and education of technical meister high schools.
