This study has been carried out to investigate the dynamic characteristics of RC slabs. For this purpose, the 20-node solid element has been used to discretize the RC slabs into two parts of concrete and rebar. The material non-linearity considering elasto-visco plastic model and the smeared crack model have been adopted in the finite element formulation. The applied load can handle step load, load intensity of harmonic load, area of distributed load and frequency. The frequency of harmonic load has an significant effect on dynamic behaviour in terms of displacement. As the frequency is increased, the effect of load amplitude is more serious. Especially, if the frequency of harmonic load exceeds 30 Hz, it is noted that the displacement by harmonic load is greater than that by step load. In case of harmonic load, the damping effect shows no certain tendency with respect to frequency of load. In details, the damping is effective when the frequency of harmonic load is 2 Hz, but there is no consistent tendency according to damping ratio. The dynamic response when the frequency of harmonic load is 3 Hz shows same result for undamped case as well as for damped case with 5% damping ratio. It is also noted that we can get the largest deflection for damped case with 1% damping ratio. However, there is not any damping effect when the frequency of harmonic load is greater than 4 Hz.
This paper is equivalent model transform which reduces the restriction of digitalization in the discrete linear system. This algorithm is the method that weight is given to contribillity and obserbility gramian, the regular matrix T of coordinate transform is obtained and then the state space coefficents of weighted model can be obtained. This study shows the frequency reponse of low quantization error according to the order of weighting function. The result shows that frequency response of the proposed algorithm is better than that of the balanced realization in the system of smaller bit.
This study has been mainly motivated to numerically investigate the transient flame response to pressure oscillations in the gaseous hydrogen - liquid oxygen flames at supercritical pressures. The present analysis is based on the real-fluid transient flamlet model and the flame field is acoustically perturbed only by the sinewave oscillations in the frequency range from 1,000 Hz to 5,000 Hz. Based on numerical results, the detailed discussions are made for the flame response characteristics and the transient flamelet response associated with the high-frequency combustion instability in the liquid propellant rocket engines.
This paper presents a numerical model for investigating the structural dynamic response of an unbalanced rotor system supported on deep groove ball bearings. The aim of this work is to develop a numerical model for investigating the effect of the number of balls on the dynamic characteristics of the rotor ball bearing system. The fourth-order Runge-Kutta numerical integration technique has been applied. The results are presented in the form of time displacement responses and frequency spectra. The analysis demonstrates that the model can be used as a tool for predicting the nonlinear dynamic behavior of the rotor ball bearing system under different operating conditions. Moreover, the study may contribute to a further understanding of the nonlinear dynamics of rotor bearing systems.
In this paper, an experimental verification of system identification technique for constructing finite element model is conducted for a three-story test structure equipped with an active mass driver (AMD). Twenty Gaussian white noises were used as the input for AMD, and the corresponding accelerations of each floors are measured. Then, the complex frequency response function (FRF) for the input, the force induced by the AMD, was obtained and subsequently, the Markov parameters and system matrices were estimated. The magnitudes as well as phase of experimentally obtained FRFs match well with those of analytically obtained FRFs.
In the design of modem rotating machinery, it is often necessary to increase the performance of rotor-bearing system. Since a critical speed range influences the performance and safety of the whole system, it should be necessary to constrain the critical speed and thus resonance response in design process to result in large vibration. Consequently the minimization of resonance response amplitudes within the operation range of the rotor system becomes the most primary design objective. In this paper, based on the assumption that the external shape of rotating-shaft, bearing supporting positions and etc, the natural frequency analysis of spindle is performed by ANSYS $10.0^{(R)}$ Optimum design is conducted using the RBF model.
Finite element analysis is frequently used to get dynamic characteristics of complex structures. Since the results often show differences from experimentally measured ones, updating of finite element models is performed to make the FE results agree with measured ones. Among several model updating methods, one is to use frequency response function data. This paper investigates characteristics of the model updating method using simulated and experimental data for a cantilever beam. Damping effect is included in FE models, and FRFs for rotational displacements are calculated from FRFs for translational displacements using interpolation.

The bubble model by Keller and Prosperetti is adapted to solve the nonlinear oscillation of a gas bubble. This formulation leads to accurate results since it introduces the energy equation instead of the polytropic assumption for the bubble interior. The numerical method used in this study is stable enough to handle large amplitude of bubble oscillation. The numerical results show some interesting nonlinear phenomena fur the bubble oscillator. The excitation changes the natural frequency of the bubble and makes some harmonic resonances at $f/f_0=1/2, 1/3$ and so on. The natural frequency of a bubble oscillator decreases compared with the linear case result, which means that the nonlinear bubble oscillation system is a "softening"system. In addition, the frequency response curve jumps up or down at a certain frequency. It is also found that there exist multi-valued regions in the frequency response curve depending on the initial conditions of bubble. The dependency of the bubble motion on the initial condition can generate extremely large pressure and temperature which might be the cause of the acoustic cavitation and the sonoluminescence.inescence.

Recently, a direct data-driven synthesis of a proportional integral derivative(PID) controller for a linear time-invariant(LTI) plant was presented in [1]. The authors showed that a complete set of PID controllers achieving robust performance and stability can be calculated directly from frequency response(FR) data without an identified transfer function model. However, it is not convenient to use this method because it requires complicated numerical algorithms to find specific frequencies which are solutions of an identical equation. The method also requires determination of the boundary of the controller's parameters from a finite set of FR data. In this paper, we present the development of a user-friendly Matlab toolbox based on the method in [1]. This toolbox allows us to obtain a complete three-dimensional(3-D) graphical solution of PID controllers that meet multiple design objectives. Several examples are given to demonstrate the use of the toolbox.
