Initialization of the Radial Basis Function Network Using Localization Method

  • In this paper, we use time-frequency localization analysis method to analize the target function and the area of the target space. When we analize the function with the time and frequency axis simultaneously, the characteristic of the function is shown more precisely and the area is covered by a certain block. After we analize the target function in the time-frequency space, we can decide the activation functions and compose the hidden layer of the RBFN by choosing the radial basis function which can represent the characteristic of the target function, RBFN made by this method, designs the good structure proper to the target problem because we can decide the number of hidden node first.

Design of an extremely miniaturized branch-line coupler

  • In this paper, a new size-reduction approach for branch-line coupler is introduced which uses parallel end-shorted coupled lines with lumped capacitors. The characteristic of the new design was analyzed using even-odd mode method, and simulated on HFSS before fabricated on the FR4 epoxy glass cloth copper-clad plat (CCL) PCB substrate at center frequency of 1 GHz. The electrical length of transmission line was reduced to 15 degrees, therefore the size of branch-line coupler was largely reduced approximately maintaining the same characteristic around the stable center frequency. The insertion loss of the branch-line coupler filter was -4.39 dB. The size of the overall hybrid is $20mm{\times}20mm$. Measurements results were well agreed with the simulated ones.

  • Polymer-coated piezoelectric crystals were applied to analyze response characteristic of organic gases. AT-cut quartz crystal with 9 MHz resonant frequency can measure mass of 1 nanogram. Flow type gas-sensing system was used in this experiment. Flow type gas-sensing system has very simple apparatus and shows very fast frequency response for injection of organic gas. We have made parameter using relaxation ratio of frequency response for organic gas. Consequently, we found that the parameter had no relation with quantity of gas injection and dipping.

  • Power line communication(PLC) is a kind of communication technology, was made use of controling a frequency narrow band, but as the PLC technology developing, in the near future get to the commercial step that is broadband PLC upto 30 MHz. This paper deals with the PLC of electric railway using capacitive signal coupler. An AC arrester for catenary is used as a capacitive signal coupler, has the characteristic of capacitor. As a result of field test, a messenger wire used PLC contain much of conducted noise about overall frequency band and also signal attenuation rate increased with increasing frequency between two points. and the communication speed of PLC used messenger wire is 793kbps at a distance of 40m. Experimental results show the possibility of PLC using a messenger wire and an AC arrester for catenary at electric railway.

  • The dynamic behavior of CANDU nuclear fuel channel was analyzed by the use of 3-dimensional finite element method, under the various fault conditions such as a fault in the end fitting support and the removal/migration of the garter spring in the fuel channel, in order to predict the dynamic behavior for a degraded symptoms of CANDU nuclear fuel channel. Moreover, the frequency response analysis for possible fault conditions was also peformed considering the effects of the pressure tube vibration and flow-induced vibration by the coolant flow. From the analysis of the frequency responses, defects in the garter spring have influenced the changes of 2nd and 3rd modes and all the important modes are varied for the failure in the journal bearing in the end fitting body.

  • A modeling method for the dynamic characteristic analysis of a translationally accelerated trapezoidal cantilever plate is presented in this paper. The equations of motion for the plate are derived and transformed into a dimensionless form. The effects of the inclination angles and the acceleration on the vibration characteristics of the plate are investigated. Incidentally, natural frequency loci veering and associated mode shape variations are observed and discussed

  • In this Paper, the channel characteristics of the medium voltage(22.9kV) power line to analysis the broadband power line communication in the frequency range up to 30MHz was measured. With the sideband electrical coupler in the operating frequency range from DC to 30MHz, we measured characteristic impedance, noise and attenuation of the medium voltage power line, and then characteristic impedance was measured at the state of unloaded medium voltage power line by Scattering parameter method of Vector Network Analyzer. As a measurement result, Channel impedance shows 100~380$\Omega$ at the less than 15MHz and 70~230$\Omega$ at the more than 15 MHz. Noise characteristics of power line shows -75dBm at 20MHz and Narrowband interference noise was from 3 MHz to 7MHz.

  • In this study, a system for measurement of impedance (transmission parameter) on the human muscle was constructed. The system composed of the stimulating part for input with milli-voltage and the measuring part for measurement of transmission voltage in human muscle. As a result of this experiment, the frequency characteristic of each subject represent that the transmission voltage goes up in spite of a constant input voltage according to frequency (1Hz -50kHz) increment. Namely, the amplitude of input signal was not reflected but frequency was reflected on the measured results. This result be estimated that the proposed system is able to measure passive electrical characteristic of human body.

  • This paper describes characteristic analysis of VVVf type high-frequency considering dead time. Static power conversion are now used in a great variety of application including induction heating, high-frequency generation, DC/DC power converter, etc. In the circuit analysis, an offer circuit was compared with safety operating region and steady state characteristics considering dead time.

드릴가공에 있어서 동적성분의 특성에 관한 연구 (A Study on Characteristic of the Dynamic Component in Drilling)

  • This study was carried out to investigate the characteristic of dynamic component in drilling. Materials used were carbon steel, brass and cast iron, and the drills used were high speed steel drill and cemented carbide. The cutting resistance generated in drilling was detected with the aid of piez0-electric tool dynamometer which has an excellent frequency response, and then the magnitude and shape of dynamic component and its frequency component as well were analyuzed. After a thorough study of interrelationship, the obtained results are as follows; 1) The shape of torque and thrust of the early drilling are different. 2) The shapes of dynamic component can be classified into four kinds. 3) Torque is related to frequency more closely than thrust. 4) As cutting speed increased, dynamic component increased. 5) Chipping took place continuously, and its size decreased as cutting proceeded.
