Free vibration analysis of super-elliptical composite thin plates was investigated. Plate is formed by symmetrical quasi-isotropic laminates. Rayleigh-Ritz method was used for parametric analysis based on the governing differential equations of Classical Laminated Plate Theory (CLPT). Simply supported and clamped boundary conditions at the periphery of plates were considered. Parametric study was performed for the effect of different lamination type, aspect ratio, thickness and super-elliptical power on natural frequencies. Convergence study and validation of isotropic case were achieved. A number of design parameters like different dimensions, structure systems, panel sizes, panel thicknesses, lamination sequences, boundary conditions and loading conditions must be considered in the production of composite ships. The number of possible combinations practically may be so high that a parametric study should be carried out in order to determine the optimum design parameters rapidly during the preliminary design stage. The use of Rayleigh-Ritz method could make this parametric study possible. Thereby it might be decreasing the consumption of time, material and labor. Certain results for some different super-elliptical powers presented in tabulated form in Appendix for designers as well.
As the importance of three-dimensiona (3D) nano patterns and structures has recently emerged, interest in the study of 3D structures of block copolymers has increased. However, most existing studies on block copolymer 3D patterns on substrates are limited to simple 3D structures such as a multi-layered forms. In this study, we propose an experimental method for realizing free-standing 3D block copolymer patterns on substrates using an e-beam lithographic template and film transfer method. The block copolymer 3D structure formed in wide hole templates are similar to simple multi-layered structures; however, as the width of the hole template become narrower, more complex block copolymer 3D structures are formed in which the upper and lower layer structures are interconnected. Furthermore, we introduce a method to fabricate novel block copolymer structures in which the 2D planar structures are connected to 3D complex structures. Proposed 3D block copolymer fabrication method provides a framework for generation of unconventional 3D structures of block copolymer, which can be useful for next generation 3D devices.

A modified silicon direct bonding method has been developed alloying an intimate contact between grooved and smooth mirror-polished oxide-free silicon wafers. A regular set of grooves was formed during preparation of heavily doped $p^+$-type grid network by oxide-masking und boron diffusion. Void-free bonded interfaces with filing of the grooves were observed by x-ray diffraction topography, infrared, optical. and scanning electron microscope techniques. The presence of regularly formed grooves in bending plane results in the substantial decrease of dislocation over large areas near the interface. Moreover two strongly misoriented waters could be successfully bonded by new technique. Diodes with bonded a pn-junction yielded a value of the ideality factor n about 1.5 and the uniform distribution of series resistance over the whole area of horded pn-structure. The suitability of the modified technique was confirmed by I - V characteristics of power diodes and reversly switched-on dynistor(RSD) with a working area about $12cm^2$. Both devices demonstrated breakdown voltages close to the calculation values.
The characteristics of flow around a rotating propeller were investigated using PIV technique. For each of four different blade phases of $0^{\circ},\;18^{\circ},\;36^{\circ}\;and\;54^{\circ}$four hundred instantaneous velocity fields were ensemble averaged to investigate the spatial evolution of the flow around a propeller. The phase-averaged mean velocity fields show that the viscous wake formed by the boundary layers developed on the blade surfaces and the slipstream contraction in the near-wake region. The out-of-plane velocity component and strain rate had large values at the locations of the tip and trailing vortices. The boundary layer developed along the ship hull bottom surface of the ship stern provides a strong turbulent shear layer, affecting the vortex structure in the propeller near-wake. As the flow develops in the downstream direction, the trailing vortices formed behind the propeller hub move upward slightly due to the presence of the hull wake and free surface. The turbulence intensity has large values around the tip and trailing vortices. As the wake moves downstream, the strength of the vorticity diminishes and the turbulence intensity increases due to turbulent diffusion and active mixing between the tip vortices and adjacent wake flow.
Cerium-activated yttrium aluminate ($Y_3Al_5O_{12}:Ce^{3+}$) exhibiting a garnet structure has been widely utilized in the production of light emitting diodes (LEDs) as a yellow emitting phosphor. The commercialized yttrium aluminum garnet (YAG) phosphor is typically synthesized by a solid-state reaction, which produces irregular shape particles with a size of several tens of micrometers by using the top-down method. To control the shape and size of particles, which had been the primary disadvantage of top-down synthetic methods, we synthesized YAG:Ce nanoparticles with a diameter of 500 nm using a coprecipitation method under the atmospheric pressure without the use of template or special equipment. The precursor particles were formed by refluxing an aqueous solution of the nitrate salts of Y, Al, and Ce, urea, and polyvinylpyrrolidone (55 K) at $100^{\circ}C$ for 12 h. YAG:Ce nanoparticles were formed by the calcination of precursor particles at $1100^{\circ}C$ for 10 h under atmospheric conditions. The phase identification, microstructure, and photoluminescent properties of the products were evaluated by X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscopy, absorption spectrum and photoluminescence analyses.

The structure of the scale formed on the surface of Fe - Cr - X alloys exposed to 1143K high sulfidation($Ps_2$ = 1.11$\times$$10^-7$ atm, $Po_2$ = 3.11$\times$$10^-20$ atm) or sulfidation/oxidation(($Ps_2$= 1.06$\times$$10^-7$ atm, ($Po_2$ = 3.11$\times$$10^-18$ atm) environment has been observed and analysed using XRD, SEM/EDS. To investigate the possibility of protective film formed on the surface of the alloys, Aluminium, Nickel were selected as alloying elements. Thermodynamic phase stability diagram was used to predict the reaction path of scale formed on Fe - Cr - X alloys. Parabolic rate constant($K_p$) value with 6wt% Al in Fe - 25Cr alloy decreased significantly compared with the Fe - 25Cr alloy without 6wt% Al. Since thin layer of defect free sulfide film, (Al, Cr)Sx, was formed at the alloy/scale interface. Fe - rich sulfide scale at outer layer and Cr - rich sulfide scale containing porosity at inner layer of Fe - 25Cr alloy have been observed. The reaction path for these scales could be predicted by the thermodynamic stability diagram.
Chevron crack in cold extrusion has been studied in view of deformation conditions and material characteristics. There is V formed chevron crack is occasionally occurred in core part of shaft by multistage free extrusion. Although many research results were reported and theoretical analyses were accompanied, in this study we discussed practical method to prevent chevron crack in the field of working conditions and material characteristics. We have found that chevron crack is eliminated under condition of high hydrostatic state in deformation and decreased segregation, refinement of micro structure of materials.
The master/slave-combined system has a simplified and miniaturized structure formed by combining the master and slave that are the teleoperation system. In a certain situation, the operator may want to feel the magnified/reduced admittance of the real environments. Or he may want to feel the specific predefined admittance of the virtual environments. This paper presents a force feedback control structure for the master/slave-combined system. Through the proposed control structure, the operator can feel the predefined admittance of the virtual environments in case of free motion, and the magnified/reduced admittance of real environments in case of contact situation. It is discussed how the elements of the admittance effect ...
The interrelation of secondary defects, intermediate S' phase and aging condition in Al-2.0 wt% Cu-1.1 wt% Mg alloy is studied by transmission electron microscope. The results obtained in this study are as follows. 1. High density of dislocation loops, helices and stacking faults are observed in this specimen with aging treatment. 2. The number of dislocation loops and the width of loop free zone (LFZ) are increased with aging time. 3. The intermediate S' phase precipitates and grows on the dislocations and secondary defects. 4. The misfit dislocations are formed around intermediate S' phase. 5. It is thought that the helices appear to be produced by the climb of screw dislocations, while the dislocation loops appear to be formed both by condensation of vacancies into collapsed discs and by interaction of helices with screw of opposite sign.

Analyses for concentration, surface phenomena, and crystal structure were performed to identify the causes of clinker formation in three type of pulverized coal fired boilers. Some clinkers had partially molten surface and more CaO and $Fe_2O_3$ as compared with fly ash, and the major crystalline phases identified in the clinker were mullite and quartz. Clinkers were formed in high temperature zone of the boiler according to the identification of mullite by XRD. Free $SiO_2$ in sand combined with K, Na and Ca in limestone served as a fluxing agent to form clinkers in a circulating bed boiler.
