자유학기제 과학과 평가에 대한 교사의 인식과 실제 (Teacher Perception and Practice on Free Semester Science Assessment)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 자유학기제가 전면 시행된 이후 자유학기제 과학과 평가 경험이 있는 중등 과학교사 15명을 대상으로 자유학기제와 자유학기제 평가에 대한 교사의 인식, 자유학기제 과학과 평가의 실제를 알아보는 것이다. 본 연구의 서술형 문항 설문과 개인 면담 전사본은 반복적 비교 분석법을 통해 분석하였고, 선택형 문항 설문은 응답 빈도를 분석하였다. 자유학기제 기본 방향 중 평가 방법 변화는 낮은 순위로 선정한 교사가 많았고, 자유학기제 평가의 객관성 부족, 자유학기제 평가의 입시 미반영, 자유학기제 평가에 대한 체계 미확립, 활동 중심 수업 및 교과에 대한 학생의 흥미 유발이 평가보다 더 중요함 등을 이유로 언급하였다. 본 연구의 대부분 교사들은 자유학기제 평가의 기본 방향을 교육부에서 제시한 과정 중심 평가로 이해하고 있었다. 과정 중심 평가를 매우 긍정적 또는 긍정적으로 인식한 교사들은 학생에게 미칠 수 있는 긍정적인 영향에 초점을 맞추어 설명한 반면, 과정 중심 평가를 보통 또는 부정적으로 인식한 교사들은 교사들이 겪는 어려움에 초점을 맞추어 설명하였다. 본 연구의 절반 교사들은 주관성과 복잡성 등의 이유로 학생 자기평가 학생 동료평가를 실행하지 않은 것으로 나타났으며, 시간 부족을 이유로 평가 결과에 대한 피드백을 거의 제공하지 않은 교사들도 일부 있었다. 일부 교사들은 평가 방법에 익숙하지 않거나 평가를 실행하기 위한 방법을 모르기 때문에 특정 평가 방법을 사용하지 않았다고 하였다. 본 연구 참여 교사들 중 교과 협의를 하지 않은 교사들은 동 학년을 담당하는 교사의 수나 동료 교사의 태도와 같은 환경적 요인에 의하여 협의를 하지 못한 것으로 나타났다. 평가 관련 연수에 참여하지 않은 교사들은 자유학기제 담당자만 연수에 참여하거나 연수의 필요성에 대한 교사의 인식 부족, 교사 개인 사정 등과 같이 교과 협의회와는 달리 교사의 자율적 선택에 의해 연수에 참여하지 않은 것으로 나타났다.

자유선택놀이 활동에서 유아 또래관계 탐색을 위한 위치데이터 활용 방안 연구 (A Study on the Use of Location Data for Exploring Infant's Peer Relationships in Free-Choice Play Activities)

  • 본 연구는 자유선택놀이 활동에서 유아의 또래관계 탐색을 위한 위치데이터의 활용 방안을 탐색하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 충남 소재 유아교육기관 1개 학급, 14명을 대상으로 웨어러블 디바이스를 활용하여 위치데이터를 수집했다. 수집한 위치데이터의 전처리를 위해 스무딩 기법을 적용하여 수집 과정에서 발생한 결측치를 복구하고 파이썬의 Matplotlib를 활용해 데이터를 시각화했다. 이후 수식을 활용하여 위치데이터에서 이동거리, 유아 간 거리, 유아의 상호작용 유형을 추출했다. 연구결과 시간의 흐름에 따른 1) 이동거리의 변화와 누적값 및 평균값, 2) 유아간 거리 변화와 평균 거리값 3) 상호작용 유형의 변화와 경향성을 도출할 수 있었다. 정보통신기술의 발달은 교육현장에 많은 변화를 야기하고 있으며 특히 최근 교육 현장에서는 학습자의 특성, 요구를 중심으로 다양한 교수-학습적 처방을 통한 맞춤형 교육에 대한 수요가 높아지고 있다. 이러한 연구결과는 교사가 모든 유아를 세밀하게 관찰하기 어려운 상황에서 유아들의 또래집단 형성 과정에 대한 정보를 제공할 수 있으며 이에 따른 교육 프로그램의 설계 및 운영에 유의미한 정보로 활용될 수 있다.

자유학기제 도입에 따른 영양교육의 현황 및 영양교사의 인식에 관한 예비조사연구 (Nutrition teacher's perception and current status of nutrition education for free learning semester program: a preliminary study)

  • Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the current status of nutrition education via a free learning semester program (NE). The understanding of the program, the potential difficulties, and future initiatives for NE improvement were also investigated. Methods: A total number of 161 nutrition teachers from Gwangju and Jeonnam filled in a questionnaire and participated in this survey, which was performed from July to August 2019. Results: Our results showed that 8.1% of the nutrition teachers had taught nutrition education in free learning semester programs. The most frequently implemented model was subject selection, followed by club activities. Most of the nutrition teachers comprehended the purpose of NE. The attitude of nutrition teachers to NE differed by the understanding of its purpose. Positive attitude was evident due to a better understanding of the purpose by nutrition teachers. Nutrition teachers reported the most common difficulties of NE were the lack of preparation due to the heavy workload and the lack of a standard running program. The most effective method of NE was the activity classes. The experience of practicing NE influenced the choice of contents for each operating model. Nutrition teachers that were experienced in NE conducted via free learning semester programs preferred the selected topics model, but those without experience chose the career search model. Conclusions: Although some obstacles exist, nutrition teachers had a positive attitude and perceived well the importance of NE. Therefore, the awareness for the significance of NE of nutrition teachers needs to be improved. For better NE practice, it is necessary to reduce/ manage the workload of general food service. Furthermore, the development of standard running and promotion programs, and teacher training programs should be ensured.

An Analysis on the Preference of Early Childhood Teachers in Horticultural Activities Based on Conjoint Analysis

  • Background and objective: This study conducted a conjoint analysis on early childhood teachers to find out their preferences in horticultural activities that are used as a means of education in early childhood education. Methods: For the conjoint analysis, five attributes of horticultural activities were selected. Attribute 1 was method of horticultural activities, divided into two levels: exclusive and integrated horticultural activities. Attribute 2 was object of horticultural activities, divided into three levels: fruit crops, vegetable crops, and floricultural crops. Attribute 3 was activity type, divided into three levels: big and small group, free choice, and outdoor play. Attribute 4 was place for horticultural activities, and divided into two levels: indoors and outdoors. Attribute 5 was time for horticultural activities, divided into two levels: 30 minutes and 30-60 minutes. The orthogonal design was used to extract 20 profiles, after which we conducted a survey on 320 early childhood teachers and analyzed the valid responses from 257 teachers. Results: The preference of early childhood teachers showed highest importance in object (29.1%), followed by activity type (23.2%), activity method (17.4%), time (16.1%), and place (14.2%) (Pearson's R = .591, p = .008). By level of each attribute, the importance was high in exclusive horticultural activities for activity method, big and small group for activity type, vegetable and floricultural crops for object, indoors for place, and 30 minutes for time. Conclusion: The horticultural program preferred by early childhood teachers is comprised of big and small group activities using vegetable and floricultural crops, carried out indoors for 30 minutes as an exclusive class.

  • Objectives : This study investigated the anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory activities of Changchulgeumryeontang (CCGRT) extract. Methods : The macrophage cell line RAW 264.7 cells were used and MTT assay was performed to measure the cell viabilities at the various concentrations of CCGRT ($25-200{\mu}g/m{\ell}$). Nitric oxide (NO) and prostaglandin $E_2$ ($PGE_2$) were measured in LPS-induced RAW 264.7 cells. Expressions of iNOS, $NF-{\kappa}B$, $IL-1{\alpha}$, $IL-1{\beta}$ and IL-6 were also performed by real-time PCR. The anti-oxidant activities of CCGRT was measured by DPPH radical scavenging activity. Results : 1. there was no cytotoxicity in RAW264.7 cells treated with CCGRT compared to the control. 2. CCGRT treated group significantly inhibited NO and $PGE_2$ production compared to the LPS treated group. 3. CCGRT treated group significantly decreased mRNA expressions of iNOS, $NF-{\kappa}B$, $IL-1{\alpha}$, $IL-1{\beta}$ and IL-6 compared to the LPS treated group. 4. CCGTR was found to have high DPPH free radical scavenging ability. Conclusions : According to the above results, CCGRT may be a potentional choice for the treatment of inflammatory skin disease. Quantum Mechanical Simulation for the Analysis, Optimization and Accelerated Development of Precursors and Processes for Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD)

  • Continued miniaturization and increasingly exact requirements for thin film deposition in the semiconductor industry is driving the search for new effective, efficient, selective precursors and processes. The requirements of defect-free, conformal films, and precise thickness control have focused attention on atomic layer deposition (ALD). ALD precursors so far have been developed through a trial-and-error experimental approach, leveraging the expertise and tribal knowledge of individual research groups. Precursors can show significant variation in performance, depending on specific choice of co-reactant, deposition stage, and processing conditions. The chemical design space for reactive thin film precursors is enormous and there is urgent need for the development of computational approaches to help identify new ligand-metal architectures and functional co-reactants that deliver the required surface activity for next-generation thin-film deposition processes. In this paper we discuss quantum mechanical simulation (e.g. density functional theory, DFT) applied to ALD precursor reactivity and state-of-the-art automated screening approaches to assist experimental efforts leading toward optimized precursors for next-generation ALD processes.

구성놀이에서 드러나는 유아들의 과학적 사고과정 탐색 : 재미반의 사례를 중심으로 (An Exploration into the Process of Scientific Thinking on the part of Young Children as seen through Constructive Play : Focusing on the Cases of the Jaemi Class)

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the process of scientific thinking as it is revealed through the cases of constructive play for young children. For this purpose, the researcher observed and interviewed six four-year-olds in the Jaemi Class while recording them with a camcorder during a free choice activity class in the morning from April 23 to June 25, 2012. The observations were analyzed in chronological order according to the changes of theories and structure as presented by the children themselves. The process of scientific thinking in constructive play for young children can be divided into presentation of naive theories, the abandonment of naive theories according to repetitive experiences and the discovery of inconsistency, the representation of alternative theories, and the abandonment of alternative theories according to repetitive experiences and the discovery of contradictions. On the basis of the results, constructive play has proved to serve a valuable educational function by inducing scientific thinking processes in children. On the basis of this finding, the researcher suggests the need to provide appropriate educational support to teachers.

보육시설 안전교육.안전사고 실태와 담임교사들의 안전교육 범위와 방법 인식에 대한 실증적 연구 (An Empirical Study on the Safety Education and Safety Accident Status in Child-Care Facilities and Homeroom Teacher's Recognition about the Safety Education Range and Methods)

  • In most child-care facilities, homeroom teachers take the responsibilities for safety education, which has been conducted in class hours on a regular basis. It was found that most homeroom teachers are lacking in teacher training opportunities, and the younger they are, the less training experience they get. Teachers with fewer teaching careers had a greater interest in safety education and training courses. In addition, homeroom teachers have been utilizing monthly toddler magazines as a method to acquire knowledges for safety education and prevention of safety accidents. The safety accidents which have most frequently occurred in care-care facilities turned out to be stumble and tear, and infants aged 3 years or younger were found to be easily exposed to the safety accidents mainly due to the frolic between peers during the free-choice activity time. The homeroom teachers recognized only traffic safety education among the range of safety training courses, which varied depending on teaching career such as traffic safety education and indoor/outdoor safety environment training, etc. In addition, it turned out that the safety training methods were limited to the utilization of discussion techniques, role-playing, description and demonstration.

Analysis of Horticultural Activities in the Teacher's Guidebooks of Nuri Curriculum for 5-Year-Olds

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the frequency and contents of horticultural activities in 696 individual activities listed in 11 teacher's guidebooks of Nuri Curriculum for 5-year-olds, and to find out the perceptions of horticultural activities in the formal curriculum. The target horticultural activities that were selected were those using natural objects like potted plants, water, wind, soil, stones, etc. as the topic or subject of activities, and those with different topics but are mentioning plants or natural objects as an example at least twice. The 150 selected horticultural activities were classified by life-based theme, activity type, activity domain, and medium. As a result of examining horticultural activities by life-based theme, there were 150 horticultural activities (21.55%): 40 in Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter (5.75%), 34 in Animals, Plants, and Nature (4.89%), 22 in Environment and Life (3.16%), 19 in Our Country (2.73%), and nine in Our Neighborhood (1.29%), nine in Various Countries of the World (1.29%), four in Health and Safety (0.57%), four in Living tools (0.57%), four in Transportation (0.57%), three in Kindergarten and Friends (0.43%), two in Me and My Family (0.29%; χ2=130.427, p < .001). As a result of examining horticultural activities by activity type, there were 61 free choice activities (40.67%), 80 large and small group activities (53.33%), and nine outdoor play activities (6.00%), indicating that outdoor play was the fewest activity type (χ2=54.040, p < .001). The results of analyzing horticultural activities by activity domain showed that there were 25 in conversation (16.67%), 19 in science (12.50%), 14 in art (9.33%), 14 in cooking (9.33%), 10 in fairy tales (6.00%), nine in music (6.00%), eight in language (5.33%), eight in number operation (5.33%), eight in others (5.33%), six in children's plays (4.0%), six in games (4.0%), four in body and movement (2.67%), three in stacking (2.00%), three in roles (2.00%), three in rhythm (2.00%), two in children's poems (1.33%), two in field experience (1.33%) and one in outside play (0.67%; χ2=87.600, p < .001). As a result of examining the mediums used in the horticultural activities, 46 activities (30.67%) directly used plants as the mediums, 11 activities (7.33%) used soil such as stones, gravel, and earth as the mediums instead of plants, four activities (2.67%) used dry plants such as branches and dry leaves as the mediums, and 89 activities (59.33%) used videos, photos of plants, and pictures of plants as the mediums (χ2=121.307, p < .001).

Efficacy and Safety of Sorafenib for Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer: a Meta-analysis of Randomized Controlled Trials

  • Background: Many clinical trials have been conducted to evaluate sorafenib for the treatment of advanced NSCLC, but the results for efficacy have been inconsistent. The aim of this study was to evaluate the efficacy and safety of sorafenib in patients with advanced NSCLC in more detail by meta-analysis. Methods: This meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) was performed after searching PubMed, EMBASE, ASCO Abstracts, ESMO Abstracts, and the proceedings of major conferences for relevant clinical trials. Two reviewers independently assessed the quality of the trials. Outcomes analysis were disease control rate (DCR), progression- free survival (PFS), overall survival (OS) with 95% confidence intervals (CI) and major toxicity. Subgroup analysis was conducted according to sorafenib monotherapy, in combination with chemotherapy or EGFR-TKI to investigate the preferred therapy strategy. Results: Results reported from 6 RCTs involving 2, 748 patients were included in the analysis. Compared to sorafenib-free group, SBT was not associated with higher DCR (RR 1.31 (0.96- 1.79), p=0.09), PFS (HR 0.82 (0.66-1.02), p=0.07) and OS (HR 1.01 (0.92-1.12), p=0.77). In terms of subgroup results, sorafenib monotherapy was associated with significant superior DCR and longer PFS, but failed to show advantage with regard to OS. Grade 3 or greater sorafenib-related adverse events included fatigue, hypertension, diarrhea, oral mucositis, rash and HFSR. Conclusions: SBT was revealed to yield no improvement in DCR, PFS and OS. However, sorafenib as monotherapy showed some activity in NSCLC. Further evaluation may be considered in subsets of patients who may benefit from this treatment. Sorafenib combined inhibition therapy should be limited unless the choice of platinum-doublet regimen, administration sequence or identification of predictive biomarkers are considered to receive better anti-tumor activity and prevention of resistance mechanisms.
