Awareness and needs for intellectual property education among health-related department university students (보건계열 대학생의 지식재산 교육에 관한 인식도 및 요구도)

  • Objectives: This study aimed to measure the awareness and needs for intellectual property (IP) education among university students majoring in health-related fields to inform the development of future IP education curricula. Methods: The study was conducted through an online survey from January 5 to 26, 2024, targeting students from the health-related departments (Department of Physical Therapy, Health Administration, Clinical Laboratory Science, and Dental Hygiene) at Dankook University located in Cheonan City, Chungcheongnam-do. Results: A total of 151 students participated in the survey. Among the respondents, 84.8% were women, and the largest groups of respondents were from the Health Administration and Dental Hygiene departments, each accounting for 32.5%. Only 13.9% of the respondents had taken courses related to IP, and 22.5% had related activity experience. The overall average importance score of IP education was 3.88 (±0.80), and the overall average need score was 3.78 (±0.80). An Importance-Performance Analysis (IPA) Matrix analysis revealed that 13 topics fell into the first quadrant (high importance, high need), one topic into the second quadrant (low importance, high need), 18 topics into the third quadrant (low importance, low need), and four topics into the fourth quadrant (high importance, low need). The educational topics identified as first quadrant include 'Securing patent rights', 'Requirements for patent registration', 'Effects and contents of patent rights', 'Patent infringement and remedies', and 'Effects and contents of copyrights'. Conclusions: Future IP education programs should develop innovative educational content and methods that consider both the importance and needs to increase students' interest and engagement.

Evaluation of Image Quality by Parameter Change in Onco Flash (Onco Flash에서 매개변수 변화에 따른 영상의 질 평가)

  • Purpose: Many companies developed a lot of programs with continuous effort for program upgrading. With this acquire superior image quality for the purpose of quick examination and progress in spatial resolution. This study was to obtained clinical usefulness on a appropriate parameter of FWHM for speed and alpha value for superior image quality. Materials and Methods: Gamma camera by Siemens (e.cam) and spatial resolution phantom and four quadrant bar phantom used. Compared for FWHM by changed scan speed 15, 20, 25, 30, 35, 40 cm/min in scatter and non scatter in Onco Flash of spatial resolution phantom. Visual evaluation of count rate and bar phantom image for increased of alpha value of 10% in 0~100%. Results: FWHM by the scan speed was 9.37, 9.40, 9.28, 9.30, 9.31, 9.53 mm in the scatter. Count rate increased alpha value 10% increased. Visual evaluation was suitable to below 30%, Therefore spatial resolution improved on FWHM at the scan speed 25~35 cm/min applying for alpha value 30% in Onco Flash was average 9.3 mm less than FWHM of below 15 cm/min and above 40 cm/min. Conclusion: We found on appropriate parameter to progress of image quality. And there be a useful guideline for you that appropriate scan speed on vary in parameters of reduction on examination time and advancing image quality.

The Impact of the Relationships among the Motivation, Benefits and Satisfaction derived from Rural Outdoor Recreation for Urban Residents (도시민의 농촌 야외여가활동의 동기, 여가혜택과 만족간의 영향 관계)

  • This study was performed to identify the tendency and benefits of outdoor recreation in rural areas. The preferences and importance of the benefits of outdoor recreation activities in rural areas were simultaneously compared and analyzed through the discussion of a four quadrants portfolio map using importance-performance analysis. The social benefits in quadrant i had the characteristics of 'sharing nice experiences with others', 'having contact/interchange with others', 'colleagueship/helping each other', 'being together with friends', and 'making new friends.' These social benefit types were perceived as very important characteristics, but the real level of achievement was rather low. Thus it seems necessary, in the process of program development, to apply the social benefit types to the characteristics of the participants. The experience of nature and relaxation benefits in quadrant ii had the characteristics of 'relaxation and recreation', 'understanding nature', 'nature experience', 'getting away from everyday life', and 'experiencing new things.' These benefits and experience of nature were regarded as very important characteristics by the participants in outdoor recreation and, at the same time, their real achievements were highly recognized, thus they seemed to be proper types for the goals involved in developing an outdoor recreation activity program in rural areas. The personal and challenge benefits in quadrant iv had the characteristics of 'training of mental ability', 'improvement of self-esteem', 'fitness', 'increase in determination', 'possible danger', 'achievement', 'excitement', and 'adventure.' These benefits had less importance to the participants, but had relatively high achievement, thus it might be important to make further suggestions for the direction of development according to the participants' tendency, seasons and facilities.

A Study on Circuit Design Method for Linearity and Range Improvement of CMOS Analog Current-Mode Multiplier (CMOS 아날로그 전류모드 곱셈기의 선형성과 동적범위 향상을 위한 회로설계 기법에 관한 연구)

  • In this paper, we present a design method for improving the linearity and dynamic range of the analog current mode multiplier circuit, which is one of the key devices in an analog current mode AI processor. The proposed circuit consists of 4 quadrant translinear loops made up of NMOS transistors only, which minimizes physical mismatches of the transistors. The proposed circuit can be implemented at 117㎛ × 109㎛ in 0.35㎛ CMOS process and has a total harmonic distortion of 0.3%. The proposed analog current mode multiplier is expected to be useful as the core circuit of a current mode AI processor.

Formulations of Job Strain and Psychological Distress: A Four-year Longitudinal Study in Japan

  • Background: Different job strain formulations based on the Job Demand-Control model have been developed. This study evaluated longitudinal associations between job strain and psychological distress and whether associations were influenced by six formulations of job strain, including quadrant (original and simplified), subtraction, quotient, logarithm quotient, and quartile based on quotient, in randomly selected Japanese workers. Methods: Data were from waves I and II of the Survey of Midlife in Japan (MIDJA), with a 4-year followup period. The study sample consisted of 412 participants working at baseline and had complete data on variables of interest. Associations between job strain at baseline and psychological distress at follow-up were assessed via multivariable linear regression, and results were expressed as β coefficients and 95% confidence intervals including R2 and Akaike information criterion (AIC) evaluation. Results: Crude models revealed that job strain formulations explained 6.93-10.30% of variance. The AIC ranged from 1475.87 to 1489.12. After accounting for sociodemographic and behavioral factors and psychological distress at baseline, fully-adjusted models indicated significant associations between all job strain formulations at baseline and psychological distress at follow-up: original quadrant (β: 1.16, 95% CI: 0.12, 2.21), simplified quadrant (β: 1.01, 95% CI: 0.18, 1.85), subtraction (β: 0.39, 95% CI: 0.09, 0.70), quotient (β: 0.37, 95% CI: 0.08, 0.67), logarithm quotient (β: 0.42, 95% CI: 0.12, 0.72), and quartile based on quotient (β: 1.22, 95% CI: 0.36, 2.08). Conclusion: Six job strain formulations showed robust predictive power regarding psychological distress over 4 years among Japanese workers.

Voltage-Mode CMOS Squarer/Multiplier Circuit

  • In this paper, a low-voltage CMOS squarer and a four-quadrant analog multiplier are presented. It is based on a source-coupled pair and a scaled-floating voltage generator which are modified to work as a voltage squaring and a sum/difference circuits. The proposed squarer/multiplier have been simulated with HSPICE, where -3㏈ bandwidth of 10MHz is achieved. The power consumption is about 0.6㎽, from a ${\pm}$1.5V supply, and the total harmonic distortion is less than 0.7%, with a 1.2V peak-to-peak 1MHz input signal.

  • Dual converter is being used as a four-quadrant source for the controlled rectifier. But the rectifier itself and circulating current between P and N-converter contribute to generate reactive power. The methodology of input power factor control of dual converter by means of circulating current control is presented in this paper.

  • The current source inverter-fed induction motor(CSIM) drive is widely used in industry because of its four quadrant operation, fuseless protection, fuseless protection, and ruggedness. the CSIM drive system, however, has shortcomins such as slow response and dynamic stability to load torque disturbance and reference speed change. Such a disadvantages can be compensated considerably by means of introducing additional angle angle control loop. The angle control method is dependent upon the inverter type. In this paper, simultaneus recovery and commutation inverter(SRCI) which is developed recently is considered.

  • This paper develops a design technique for approximating nonseparable frequency characteristics by sums and products of separable transfer functions. Therefore nonseparable frequency characteristics includes the four-quadrant symmetry filters. The desired filter with half plan symmetry is obtained by shifting a low pass characteristic in the frequency domain, and by combining these shifted characteristics. Also the paper develops the technique for designing recursive and nonrecursive two dimensional digital filters by the application of a complex transformation to one dimensional low pass filter.
