Local min/max 연산을 이용한 ridge 및 valley의 검출 (Detection of ridges and valleys using local min/max operations)

  • In object analysis by image processing, finding lines plays a universal role. And these lines can be easily found by detecting ridges and valleys in digital gray scale images. In this paper, a new method of detecting ridges and valleys by using local min/max operations was presented. This method detects ridges and valleys of desired width by using erosion and dilation properties of local min/max operations, and requires no information of ridge or valley direction. Therefore the method is efficient and computationally simple in comparision with the conventional analytical method.

크랭크 축의 모우드 해석에 관한 연구 (A study on modal analysis of a crankshaft)

  • An analytical and experimental modal analysis is carried out upon a crankshaft of a four cylinder internal combustion engine for studying dynamic characteristics of the shaft. Influence coefficient method is adopted in modelling the object and the calculated dynamic properties are directly compared with the experimentally obtained torsional and bending natural frequencies and mode shapes. It is found that the test results are well agree with the outputs from analytical model especially in low harmonics.

  • Comprehensive assessment of ecological riparian zone is to analyze and evaluate the status of riparian zone ecosystem. The existing problem of the ecosystem can be found through the assessment. The AHP-FUZZY method used in the assessment is based on the hierarchy model of index, grade model of object, and attribution degree of index. Accordingly, the four models have been discussed and presented from the aspect of the stability, landscape, eco-health and eco-safety of riparian zone.

  • The objective of tissue characterization is to provide quantitative information about the physical state of tissue interrogated by an ultrasound beam. In the computer simulation, it was found that the echoes were composed of the interferences of the ultrasonic waves reflected from both sides of the thin object, and could be separated by the spectral correlation method. Also, the phantom study demonstrates that thickness of the thin acryl layer beyond the resolution of common ultrasonic imaging systems can be measured- using this method.

  • A dual probe laser Doppler vibrometer (LDV) that has one laser source and provides two independent object beams has been developed for the first time. An electronic circuit that converts light signal to electronic signal has been also developed using digital phase locked loop(DPLL). It was found that this types of dual probe LDV can be used in differential mode and self-vibration compensation mode.

  • A new block matching algorithm that improved the existing block matching algorithm in terms of image quality is proposed in this paper. The subblock of image including the vertical edge of object is subdivided into new two subblocks, and the moving vector found. The result of computer simulation shows on real image that the image quality by the algorithm becomes higher than that of the three step search algorithm by 1.1dB.

  • The paper deals with the design and implementation of Navigational Aids Training Simulator (VR-NATS) by Virtual Reality (VR). To gave interaction and immersible training situation to the user, prototype VR-NATS was developed based on the object-oriented operating system with 3D objects of navigational aids. Using the VR-NATS we created virtual navigational aids. As results from the assessment tests, students can obtain IALA (International Association of Lighthouse Authorities) rules of the navigational aids exactly and quickly comparing with conventional education methods. Thus, we found that he proposed VR-NAT is very effective for the next-generation simulation system.

  • In this paper, a new 3D robot vision system using the hierarchical opto-digital algorithm is proposed and implemented. From some experimental results with the 20 frames of the stereo input image pairs, the proposed system is found to be able to effectively extract the area where the target object is located from the stereo input image regardless of the background noises.

  • This paper presents a robot simulator which can automatically generate a smooth collision free path. This simulator has the characterstisc of the object - oriented programming which is coded in Borland C+ +. Using General Inverse Algorithm, the inverse kinematics solutions of any kind of robots can be found generally. This simulator also uses Bezier Functions for the description of a smooth collision - free path. In addition, GUI(Graphic User Interface)technique is employed for user's convenience.
