Numerical solution of the forward-speed radiation problem for a half-immersed cylinder advancing in regular waves is presented by making use of the improved Green integral equation in the frequency domain. The B-spline higher order panel method is employed stance the potential and its derivative are unknown at the same time. The present numerical solution of the improved Green integral equation by the B-spline higher order Kelvin panel method is shown to be free of irregular frequencies which are present in the Green integral equation using the forward-speed Kelvin-type Green function.
As in the other fields of mechanics, analytical methods represent an important analysis tool in marine hydrodynamics. The analytical approach is interesting for different reasons : it gives reference results for numerical codes verification, it gives physical insight into some complicated problems, it can be used as a simplified predesign tool, etc. This approach is of course limited to some simplified geometries (cylinders, spheres, ...), and only the case of one or more cylinders, truncated or not, will be considered here. Presented methods are basically eigenfunction expansions whose complexity depends on the boundary conditions. The hydrodynamic boundary value problem (BVP) is formulated within the usual assumptions of potential flow and is additionally simplified by the perturbation method. By using this approach, the highly nonlinear problem decomposes into its linear part and the higher order (second, third, ...) corrections. Also, periodicity is assumed so that the time dependence can be factorized i.e. the frequency domain formulation is adopted. As far as free surface flows are concerned, only cases without or with small forward speed are sufficiently simple to be solved semi-analytically. The problem of the floating body advancing in waves with arbitrary forward speed is far more complicated. These remarks are also valid for the general numerical methods where the case of arbitrary forward speed, even linearized, is still too difficult from numerical point of view, and "it is fair to say that there exists at present no general practical numerical method for the wave resistance problem" [9], and even less for the general seakeeping problem. We note also that, in the case of bluff bodies like cylinders, the assumptions of the potential flow are justified only if the forward speed is less than the product of wave amplitude with wave frequency.

The Green integral equation for the calculation of the forward-speed time-harmonic radiation-diffraction potentials IS derived. The forward-speed Green function presented by Brard is used and the correct free surface boundary condition for the Green function is imposed. The cause of the mistakes in the existing Green integral equation is also pointed out.

In this paper, a comparative study on the radiation techniques for the motion analysis of the three dimensional floating structure with the forward speed was carried out. The Sommerfeld radiation condition, the damping technique, and the point shift technique were used for the comparative study. Radiated wave patterns and hydrodynamic coefficients of the heave motion of floating structure with the forward speed were compared and analyzed. The characteristics and limitations of each radiation technique were analyzed through the calculation results. To overcome the limitations of conventional radiation techniques, the hybrid radiation technique combining the Sommerfeld radiation condition with the damping technique was proposed. It is confirmed that the proposed method, the Hybrid radiation technique, improves the limitation of the speed range and the dissipation of the wave of the conventional radiation technique. The motion analysis code of the three dimensional floating structure with the forward speed based on the Rankine source method with hybrid radiation technique was developed. In order to validate the developed code, hydrodynamic analyses were carried and compared with published experiments.

A sweep-based heuristic using common area is developed for multi-vehicle VRPs under time various and unsymmetric forward and backward vehicle moving speed. One depot and 2 delivery vehicle are assumed in this research to make the problem solving strategy simple. A common area is held to make adjustment of possible unbalance of between two vehicle delivery completion times. The 4 time zone heuristic is used to solve for efficient delivery route for each vehicle. The current size of common area needs to be studied for better results, but the suggested problem solving procedures can be expanded for any number of vehicles.

The improved Green integral equation for the calculation of time-harmonic potentials in the radiation diffraction problem about a freely floating body in the presence of moderate or weak current is presented. The forward-speed Green function presented by Brard is used. The correct free surface boundary conditions on the physical free surface are employed as well as an appropriate boundary conditions on the non-physical inner free surface. The default in the existing Green integral equation as well as in the source integral equation is discussed in detail.

This paper is concerned with speed tracking control problem for permanent-magnet synchronous drives (PMSM) in the presence of an variable load torque and unknown model parameters. The disturbance of speed control caused by inaccuracy of model parameters has been investigated. A load torque observer has been proposed to observe the load torque and estimate the disturbance caused by inaccuracy of model parameters. Both inertia and friction coefficient are identified in gradient descent approach. The stability condition of the observer has also been studied. Furthermore an improved feed-forward control has been introduced to reduce the speed track error. The proposed control strategy has been verified by both simulation and experimental results.
This paper proposes that can take at high speed the information of binocular disparity with moving translational and forward stereo camera to the extent that does not occur the problem of a correspondence point. It shows that in case of stereo vision with translational motion, can take the information of binocular disparity being devoid of error and putting high confidence in, and that in case of stereo vision with forward motion, can take the horizontal component which can not be detected in common stereo vision. Besides, the stereo vision can be done at high speed due to being bright and small a correspondence point comparing not to do, because a correspondence between right and left images is previously limited. But there are problem that a resonable information of binocular disparity can not be taken, if the vicinity of center of image is in accord with the region of occlusion in stereo vision with forward motion.

The appropriate radiation conditions of ship motion problem with advancing speed in frequency domain are investigated from a theoretical and practical point of view. From extensive numerical experiments that have been conducted for evaluation of the relevant radiation conditions, a hybrid radiation technique is proposed in which the Sommerfeld radiation condition and the free surface damping are mixed. Based on the comparison with the results of the translating and pulsating Green function method, the optimal damping factor of the hybrid radiation technique is selected, and the observed limitations of the proposed hybrid radiation technique are discussed, along with its accuracy obtained from the numerical solutions. Comparative studies of the forward-speed seakeeping prediction methods available confirm that the results of applying the hybrid radiation technique are relatively similar to those obtained from the translating and pulsating Green function method. This confirmation is made in comparisons with the results of solely applying either the free surface damping, or the Sommerfeld radiation condition. By applying the proposed hybrid radiation technique, the wave patterns, hydrodynamic coefficients, and motion responses of the Wigley III hull are finally calculated, and compared with those of model tests. It is found that, in comparison with the model test results, the three-dimensional Rankine source method adopting the proposed hybrid radiation technique is more robust in terms of accuracy and numerical stability, as well as in obtaining the forward speed seakeeping solution.

In this paper, novel CMOS charge pump having NMOS and PMOS transfer switches and a bulk-pumping circuit has been proposed. The NMOS and PMOS transfer switches allow the charge pump to improve the current-driving capability at the output. The bulk-pumping circuit effectively solves the bulk forward problem of the charge pump. To verify the effectiveness, the proposed charge pump was designed using a 80-nm CMOS process. The comparison results indicate that the proposed charge pump enhances the current-driving capability by more than 47% with pumping speed improved by 9%, as compared to conventional charge pumps having either NMOS or PMOS transfer switch. They also indicate that the charge pump reduces the worst-case forward bias of p-type bulk by more than 24%, effectively solving the forward current problem.
