  • 플랜트 산업은 종합적인 사업으로 관련산업의 파급효과가 크며 고부가가치사업인 반면, 기술력을 갖추기 위해서는 장기간에 걸친 투자가 필요하며, 업계 공동 혹은 국가적인 차원에서 플랜트 산업의 장기 발전전략을 수립하여 지속적으로 추진할 필요가 있다. 플랜트 산업의 해외 수주현황 및 성공요인을 공유할 수 있는 시스템의 구축이 필요한 실정이다. 이에 본 연구는 산업설비 중 해외 플랜트 산업을 주축으로 사례조사를 실시, 특성요인의 통계적 분석을 실시하였으며, 향후 플랜트 산업의 기술력 향상을 위한 방법의 일환으로 D/B(Data Base)구축을 위한 기초자료로 사용하기위해 연구를 수행하고자 한다.

원전 구조물의 경년열화를 고려한 지진응답예측 기계학습 모델의 성능평가 (Performance Evaluation of Machine Learning Model for Seismic Response Prediction of Nuclear Power Plant Structures considering Aging deterioration)

  • Dynamic responses of nuclear power plant structure subjected to earthquake loads should be carefully investigated for safety. Because nuclear power plant structure are usually constructed by material of reinforced concrete, the aging deterioration of R.C. have no small effect on structural behavior of nuclear power plant structure. Therefore, aging deterioration of R.C. nuclear power plant structure should be considered for exact prediction of seismic responses of the structure. In this study, a machine learning model for seismic response prediction of nuclear power plant structure was developed by considering aging deterioration. The OPR-1000 was selected as an example structure for numerical simulation. The OPR-1000 was originally designated as the Korean Standard Nuclear Power Plant (KSNP), and was re-designated as the OPR-1000 in 2005 for foreign sales. 500 artificial ground motions were generated based on site characteristics of Korea. Elastic modulus, damping ratio, poisson's ratio and density were selected to consider material property variation due to aging deterioration. Six machine learning algorithms such as, Decision Tree (DT), Random Forest (RF), Support Vector Machine (SVM), K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), eXtreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), were used t o construct seispic response prediction model. 13 intensity measures and 4 material properties were used input parameters of the training database. Performance evaluation was performed using metrics like root mean square error, mean square error, mean absolute error, and coefficient of determination. The optimization of hyperparameters was achieved through k-fold cross-validation and grid search techniques. The analysis results show that neural networks present good prediction performance considering aging deterioration.

The Effect of Cucumber mosaic virus 2b Protein to Transient Expression and Transgene Silencing Mediated by Agro-infiltration

  • The transient and rapid expression system of a foreign protein in planta is a very useful technique in biotechnology application. We have investigated optimum condition of Agrobacterium-infiltration technique in which expression level of foreign proteins were maximized without detrimental effects on plants using GFP and Cucumber mosaic virus 2b protein, which is known as an enhancer of gene expression and a suppressor of post-transcriptional gene silencing(PTGS). The optimum expression level of both RNA and protein of GFP with minimum leaf impairment was obtained at $OD_{600}$=0.2 of Agrobactrium inocula. The steady-state levels of GFP RNA and protein generally peaked at 3 and 7 days post-infiltration(dpi), respectively. In the presence of 2b, both the magnitude and duration of GFP expression was highly increased and we could detect GFP level until 17 dpi. On the other hands, the 2b-mediated higher accumulation of foreign proteins resulted in the repression of normal leaf growth, possibly due to the limitation of supply of energy or materials required for growth maintenance. Using this Agrobacterium-infiltration system with 2b and GFP, we tested a hypothesis for the threshold model of PTGS initiation. Four GFP transgenic lines of N. benthamiana, which shows different expression level of GFP were tested to determine the threshold level for PTGS initiation. Agrobacterium-infiltration of GFP into those GFP-transgenic plants resulted in the co-silencing of the transgenic GFP. It was found that very low concentration of Agrobacterium with GFP and GFP+2b($OD_{600}$=0.002-0.02) which could not phenotypically induce an additive GFP expression, was enough to trigger PTGS pathway in all GFP transgenic plants. This strongly indicates that each GFP-transgenic plant should be expressing the transgenic GFP at its own pre-determined level and there was no buffer zone of additive GFP-expression to the threshold. In other words, the PTGS seems to be immediately activated as a self-defensive mechanism if an internal balance of gene expression is broken.

국외에서 출항한 국내 입항 선박에서 검출된 한국 미분포 편승자 해충에 대한 보고 II (Report on the Hitchhiker Insect Pests detected from the Foreign Vessels Entering into Korea II)

  • 2018년 7월 13일부터 2019년 10월 29일까지 1년 3개월 동안, 총 306개 국외 발 국내 입항 선박을 대상으로 한국 미분포 편승자 해충(not-distributed hitchhiker insect pests in Korea)에 대한 모니터링을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 총 805개체의 편승자 해충을 확보하였으며, 이를 통합 분류학적 종동정 방법(integrative identification method)을 이용하여 총 12목 78과 379종으로 동정하였다. 이 중 7목 21과 42종 67개체의 한국 미분포종이 확인되었는데, 10종이 다중검출된 것으로 나타났으며, 그 중 7종은 2018년도에 이어 2019년도에도 검출된 것으로 확인되었다. 또한, 농림축산검역본부에 관리해충으로 등재되어 있는 Erthesina fullo (Pentatomidae, Hemiptera)와 Tessaratoma papilosa (Tessaratomidae, Hemiptera)가 검출되었다. 이에 따라, 검출된 미분포종의 사전 조사 및 모니터링 방안 마련뿐만 아니라 침입종(invasive species) 내지 침입 가능종(invasive likelihood species)에 대한 위험성 평가를 위한 data sheet를 제공하였다.

A triplex real-time PCR assay for simultaneous and differential detection of Bordetella bronchiseptica, Mycoplasma cynos, and Mycoplasma canis in respiratory diseased dogs

  • Bordetella (B.) bronchiseptica, Mycoplasma (M.) cynos, and M. canis are the major bacterial pathogens that cause canine infectious respiratory disease complex (CIRDC). In this study, we developed a triplex real-time polymerase chain reaction (tqPCR) assay for the differential detection of these bacteria in a single reaction. The assay specifically amplified three bacterial genes with a detection limit of below 10 copies/reaction. The assay showed high repeatability and reproducibility, with coefficients of intra- and inter-assay variations of less than 1%. The diagnostic results of the assay using 94 clinical samples from household dogs with CIRDC clinical signs, the prevalence of B. bronchiseptica, M. cynos, and M. canis was 22.3%, 18.1%, and 20.2%, respectively, indicating that the diagnostic sensitivity was comparable to those of previously reported qPCR assays. The dual infection rate of B. bronchiseptica and M. cynos, B. bronchiseptica and M. canis, and M. cynos and M. canis was 5.3%, 7.4%, and 3.1%, respectively. Moreover, the triple infection rate of B. bronchiseptica, M. cynos, and M. canis was 2.1%. These results indicate that coinfections with B. bronchiseptica, M. cynos, and M. canis have frequently occurred in the Korean dog population. The newly developed tqPCR assay in the present study will be a useful tool for etiological and epidemiological studies on these three CIRDC-associated bacterial pathogens. The prevalence and coinfection data revealed through this study will contribute to expanding knowledge on the epidemiology of CIRDC in the recent Korean dog population.

수목학명(樹木學名)의 어원구명(語源究明) 및 외국명(外國名) 조사(調査)(제(第)2보(報)) (Etymological Explanation of the Scientific Names for Trees and the Foreign Names of Them(II))

  • Though it is not easy for those who study dendrology to memorize all the scientific names of trees, the names remaines in their memory can facilitate the understanding of foreign technical books. The scientific name of a tree indicates characteristics of shape, color, and other aspects of the tree and by analyzing the name we can see common element found in other scientific names of trees. It is helpful to those who want to memorize and study the scientific names of trees if they understand their etymology. The preseut study is the seconds report of the investigation which aims at examining the etymology of the scientific names of native and foreign trees growing in Korea and their original names not only at the habitat but in Japan, China, England, Germany, and France. While the first report, which was made known in Theses Vol. 9. (The City College of Seoul 1975), is the examination of the scientific names of trees belonging to Gymnospermae, the present report is that of scientific names of trees belonging to Piperales: 2 families, 2 genera and 2 species; and trees belonging to Salicales: 1 family, 3 genera, 44 species, 16 varieties, and 3 forms. As the etymology of the scientific names of trees is made clear, this study will help those who want memorize the scientific names and study foreign technical books and it is also useful for international interchange of trees. The classification is depended chiefly on Dendrology by Prof. Lee Tchang-bok and "Plant Resources of Korea" shown in Biblography No. 10; the native names of trees on Jumoku Daizusetsu by Dr. Uehara; and etymology on A source-Book of Biological Names and Terms by E.C. Jager. In the column of etymology of the scientific names for genera, species, varieties and forms, Gr. stands for Greek, L. for Latin, NL. for New Latin, and genit. for genitive.

싱가포르 오염준설토 정화 후 생태 독성 변화 (Changes in the Ecological Toxic Effects of the Contaminated Sediment of Singapore after Treatment)

  • Contaminated sediment can be treated in order to reuse the treated sediment. Even though the chemical criteria are satisfied, the treated sediment could still impose toxic effects. Therefore, this study investigated the changes in the ecological toxic effects of the contaminated sediment from the J region in Singapore after treatment. The contaminated sediment was subject to sequential soil washing and thermal treatment, followed by pH neutralization. Toxic effects of the contaminated and treated sediments were determined by using Vibrio fischeri ($Microtox^{(R)}$), Triticum aestivum (wheat), and Eisenia foetida (earthworm). After treatment, the concentrations of total petroleum hydrocarbons and heavy metals were decreased by 98% and 59-93%, respectively, and satisfied the Industrial Maximum Values of the Dutch Standard, which were used as the remedial goal. The bioluminescence reduction of V. fischeri decreased significantly, and the earthworm survival increased from 0% to 90% after treatment. The germination rate increased from $0{\pm}0%$ to $75{\pm}13%$ after treatment, but the treated sediment may need additional treatment such as nutrient addition for better plant growth. Overall, this study showed that the treatment of the contaminated sediment satisfactorily removed mixed contaminants, and this led to reduction in toxic effects, suggesting improved potentials for reuse of the treated sediment.

개에서 식도 이물에 의한 식도 천공의 비침습적 치료를 통한 성공적 관리 증례 (A Successful Management of an Esophageal Perforation Caused by Esophageal Foreign Body with a Non-operative Treatment in a Dog)

  • 5년령 중성화하지 않은 암컷 포메라니언이 닭뼈를 삼킨 후 구토를 주증으로 내원하였다. 내시경을 통한 식도이물 제거 후 식도에 작은 천공을 확인하였다. 수술적 치료 대신 비수술적 관리를 통하여 치료하였고 3주 후 내시경을 통한 재검사 결과 천공부위의 완전한 폐쇄를 확인하였다. 본 연구는 식도 이물에 의한 식도 천공을 비수술적 관리를 통해 성공적으로 치료한 증례에 대한 보고이다.

엽록체 형질전환 유래 분자 농업의 연구 동향 (Current status on plant molecular farming via chloroplast transformation)

  • 고등식물의 엽록체 형질전환은 핵 형질전환에서 기대 할 수 없는 여러 가지 이점을 가진다. 외래 단백질의 발현율을 획기적으로 높일 수 있고, 여러 유전자를 동시에 발현시킬 수 있으며, 상동재조합에 의한 부위-특이적 유전자 삽입으로 인해 유전자 침묵 및 위치효과가 없다. 더욱이, 대부분 작물은 화분을 통한 도입된 유전자의 전이가 불가능한 모계 유전을 하기 때문에 엽록체 형질전환은 환경 친화적이다. 엽록체 형질전환 시스템은 핵 형질 전환과 달리 작물에서의 성공에 제한적이었으나 지난 10년 동안 이런 한계가 극복되어 콩, 당근, 상추 및 유채 등의 작물에서도 성공하게 되었다. 그러므로 이제 작물의 엽록체 형질전환은 농업적 형질의 개선뿐 만 아니라, 고부가가치 백신과 의료용 단백질 생산을 통한 의약품 산업의 성장에 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

조경직물 학명의 발음에 관한 연구 (A Study on pronunciationi in Scientific Names of Landscape Plants)

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyzed of pronunciationi of botanical names of landscape plants. This study includes the plant that are possible to use as woody landscape material as well as both the native and foreign plants that are already used. Botanical name must be divided into syllables. Every latin word has as many syllables as it has separate vowels or diphthongs. The last syllables is never accentd. The next to the last syllables is called the penult, the third from the last syllables is called the antepenult. The pronuciationi of latinized commemorative names is here that the rules are most apt to be disregarded or ignored.
