Flow-induced vibration in heat exchanger (or fuel rod) in nuclar power plant can cause dynamic interactions between tubes and tube supports resulting in fretting-wear. To increase the reliability and design life of heat exchanger components, design criteria that establish acceptable limits of vibration and minimize fretting wear are necessary. The fretting-wear rate is dependent upon material combination, contact configuration, environmental conditions and tube-to tube support dynamic interaction. It is demostrated that the fretting -wear rate correlates well with tube-to-support contact force or work rate. The tube-to-support dynamic interaction, which consists of dynamic contact forces and tube motion, is used to relate single-span wear data to real heat exchanger configurations consisting of multi-span tube bundles. This paper describes the test facility to measure tube-to-support dynamic impact force and reports its dynamic characteristics through the four impact tests - a force transduces independent and external impact tests, central ring inside impact test and additional cylinder impact test. Through the tests the impact parameter change dependent upon the material difference of impacting ball is studied, and the impact parameters of Force Transducer Assembly components are measured. And also the dynamic behavior of Force Transducer Assembly is analyzed. The force measurement technique herein is shown to provide a reasonable measure of dynamic contact forces.
Creep force is one of the only appeared at conventional train which used to be driven by metallic wheel and rail contact. Due to the elastic deformation of wheel/rail contact patch by the weights of wheel and all the components related to it, creep force generates and becomes to the decision factor of critical speed of bogie(or railway vehicle) which is the criteria of avoiding vehicle to be unstable. There are many kind of factors which affect generation of creep force at a wheel/rail contact surface such as viscosity of contact patch, velocity, wheel and rail geometric profile, mechanical properties of wheel and rail. This paper concentrates on a wheelset simple 2 DOF Equation of Motion being exerted. From the simple numerical analysis using linear solution about getting creep force some factors could find roughly. Among the factors geometric parameter could be the one of most important for this study. In the future we'll prolong the range of study to find out method of measuring creep force easily.
An application of H$_{\infty}$ synthesis to contact control of a manipulator is suggested. Based on computed torque linearization of a manipulator, a target dynamics for contact motion control is defined and used as a reference model. The target dynamics relates position and force errors through free motion impedance and force error compensators. The H$_{\infty}$ control synthesis is adopted to find an optimum the compensator for position tied force control in various directions of the end-effector. The optimization is performed on the augmented criteria, which trades off the sensitivity function of the errors and the input load at the joints. A design example of the compensator is provided that meets the design specifications.s.
The wind pressure distributions were analyzed to provide fundamental criteria for the structural design on the two-span arched house according to the wind directions through the wind tunnel experiment. In order to investigate the wind force distributions, the variation of the wind force coefficients, the mean wind force coefficients, the drag force coefficients and the lift force coefficients were estimated using the experimental data. The results obtained are as follows : 1. The variation of the wind force with wind directions on the side walls was the greatest at the upwind edge of the walls. 2. The maximum negative wind force along the length of the roof appeared at the upwind edge at the wind direction of 60$^{\circ}$. 3. The maximum negative wind force along the width of the roof appeared at the width ratio and wind direction of 0$^{\circ}$ and 0.4 in the first house and 0.6 and 30$^{\circ}$ in the second house, respectively. 4. The mean negative wind force on the side walls of the first house at the wind direction of 0$^{\circ}$ was far greater than that of the second house, and the maximum negative wind force on the roof occurred at the wind direction of 30$^{\circ}$. 5. The maximum lift force appeared on the second house at the wind direction of 30$^{\circ}$, but the lift force on the first house was far greater than that on the second house at the wind direction of 0$^{\circ}$. 6. The parts to be considered for the local wind forces were the edges of the walls, and the edges of the x-direction and the width ratio, 0.4 of the y-direction in the roofs.
The wind pressure distributions were analyzed to provide fundamental criteria for the structural design on e single-span arched house according to the wind directions through the wind tunnel experiment. In order to investigate the wind force distributions, the variation of the wind force coefficients, the mean wind force coefficients, the drag force coefficients and the lift force coefficients were estimated by using the experimental data. The results obtained are as follows: 1. When the wind direction was normal to the wall, the maximum positive wind pressure along the height of the wall occurred approximately at two-thirds of the wall height because of the effects of boundary layer flow. 2. When the wind direction was 30$^{\circ}$ to the wall, the maximum positive wind force occurred at the windward edge of the wall. When the wind direction was parallel to the wall, the maximum negative wind force occurred at the windward edge of the wall. 3. The maximum negative wind force along the width of the roof appeared around the width ratio, 0.4, and that along the length of the roof appeared around the length ratio, 0.5. 4. According to the results of the mean wind force coefficients analysis, the maximum negative wind force occurred on the roof at the wind direction of 30$^{\circ}$. 5. The wind forces at the wind direction of 30$^{\circ}$ instead of 0$^{\circ}$ are recommended in the structural design of supports for a house. 6. To prevent partial damage of a house structure by wind forces, the local wind forces should be considered to the structural design of a house.

Recently, interest in smart port systems for linking with autonomous ships is increasing. To build a smart port system, primarily, a system that can automatically moor a vessel is required. To calculate the allowable mooring capacity of the automatic mooring system in a port, the characteristics of the vessel must be considered, and the external force generated from environmental disturbances in the sea must be accurately calculated. Accurately estimating the magnitude of these environmental disturbances is an extremely important factor for designing an automatic mooring system. In this study, the mooring capacity of the HANBADA was estimated according to the port and fishing port design criteria of the Ministry of Ocean and Fisheries. The longitudinal and lateral forces of the mooring force acting on the HANBADA were 18 kN and 248 kN, respectively, under the most extreme ocean conditions (BF 6).
Force and compliance control has been used in the control of legged walking vehicles to achieve superior terrain adaptability on rough terrains. The compliance control requires distribution of the vehicle load over the supporting legs. However, the constraint equations for ground reaction forces of supporting legs are generally underdetermined, allowing an infinite number of solutions. Thus, it is possible to apply an optimization criteria in solving the force setpoint problem. It has been observed that the previous force setpoint optimization methods sometimes cause a system stability problem and/or the load distribution among supporting legs is not well balanced due to a memory effect on the solution trajectory, This paper presents an iterative force setpoint method to solve this problem using an interpolation technique. By simulation it was shown that an excessive load unbalance among supporting legs and the memory effect in the force trajectory are alleviated much with the proposed method.

In this study, the evaluation items related to the effectiveness evaluation of the LVC (Live, Virtual, Constructive) training system of the Air Force were derived and the weights of each item were analyzed. The LVC training system evaluation items for AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process) analysis were divided into three layers, and according to the level, 3 items were derived at level 1, 11 items at level 2, and 33 items at level 3. For weight analysis of evaluation items, an AHP-based pairwise comparison questionnaire was conducted for Air Force experts related to the LVC training system. As a result of the survey, related items such as (1) Achievement of education and training goals (53.8%), (1.2) Large-scale mission and operational performance (25.5%), and (1.2.1) Teamwork among training participants (19.4%) was highly rated. Also, it was confirmed that the weights of evaluation items were not different for each expert group, that is, the priority for importance was evaluated in the same order between the policy department and the working department. Through these analysis results, it will be possible to use them as evaluation criteria for new LVC-related projects of the Air Force and selection of introduction systems.
In the case of a precision equipment, it requires a vibration free environment to provide its proper function. Especially, lithography and inspection devices, which have sub-nanometer class high accuracy and resolution, have come to necessity for producing more improved giga class semiconductor wafers. This high technology equipments require very strict environmental vibration standard in proportion to the accuracy of the manufacturing, inspecting devices. The vibration criteria are usually obtained either by the real vibration exciting test on the equipment or by the analytical calculation. This paper proposes a new method to solve this problem at a time. The permissible vibration level to a precision equipment can be easily obtained by analyzing a process of Frequency Response Function. This paper also demonstrates its effectiveness by applying the proposed method to finding the vibration criteria of a Computer Hard Disk Driver by Impact Test.

Until now, there are different kinds of design and evaluation method criteria for ship hulls and ship strength based on allowable stress design using past experiences. But for many sinking accidents of large ships in operation, it has also a doubt about allowable stress design. It is recognized that structural plastic collapse caused by large external force is a main cause of that accidents. Therefore, there is the need for new design criteria based on ultimate limit state with a consideration about progressive collapse behavior as a safety assessment of ship hulls. Also many aluminum alloy ships is built for the purposes of lightweight of ship hulls, with that, a developing of criteria based on ultimate limit state should be made. In this study, the ultimate strength characteristics of aluminum ship hull are investigated by the ALPS/USAS program using already developed design formula for aluminum plate and stiffened panel.
