According to the economy recession of U.S.A and Europe, the value of China market has been increased. Therefore the in-depth studies were essential for the companies and brands which look for new rising market. This study typed Chinese consumers by lifestyle and analyze the demographics and clothing purchasing behavior. The result of the internet survey which was carried out targeting Shanghai residents, established several consumer types of men and women respectively. In case of male consumers, established 4 groups like indifferent to advertising/brand group, seriously considering brand/health group, seriously considering leisure group, and seriously considering education group. In case of female consumers, established 3 groups like seriously considering education/food group, seriously considering housing/leisure group, and seriously considering shopping group. These groups were showed significant differences to demographics and clothing purchasing behavior. These characteristics about the groups must be reflected to marketing and merchandising strategies.
The purpose of this study was to identify purchasing behavior and attitudes toward naturalistic cosmetics according to women's LOHAS lifestyle. Self-administered questionnaires were distributed to 500 women aged 19-59. SPSS was used for data analysis. The results were as follows: 1. Factors of LOHAS lifestyle were social consciousness, reduce resources, family centered, individuality & environmental consciousness, healthy food life, and information search. Women were clustered into bad-being group, environmentalists, LOHAS group, well-being group, and individualists. 2. Most women had a bit of knowledge and experienced naturalistic cosmetics. Over 85% of women had intention to use naturalistic cosmetics. 3. Bad-being group and individualists included university women and had little knowledge and experiences of naturalistic cosmetics. LOHAS group and well-being group included more career women with higher education, had more knowledge and experiences. 4. Knowledge and experiences of naturalistic cosmetics were the most effective factors on the use intention of naturalistic cosmetics.
BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) cases were first reported in December 2019, in China, and an increasing number of cases have since been detected all over the world. The purpose of this study was to collect significant news media reports on food services during the COVID-19 crisis and identify public communication and significant concerns regarding COVID-19 for suggesting future directions for the food industry and services. SUBJECTS/METHODS: News articles pertaining to food services were extracted from the home pages of major news media websites such as BBC, CNN, and Fox News between March 2020 and February 2021. The retrieved data was sorted and analyzed using Python software. RESULTS: The results of text analytics were presented in the format of the topic label and category for individual topics. The food and health category presented the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic on food and health, such as an increase in delivery services. The policy category was indicative of a change in government policy. The lifestyle change category addressed topics such as an increase in social media usage. CONCLUSIONS: This study is the first to analyze major news media (i.e., BBC, CNN, and Fox News) data related to food services in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. Text analytics research on the food services domain revealed different categories such as food and health, policy, and lifestyle change. Therefore, this study contributes to the body of knowledge on food services research, through the use of text analytics to elicit findings from media sources.
The purpose of current study was to find differences of selected attributes and visitors of responses according to their lifestyle as perceived by Pocheon Yidong-BBQ-Galbi Festival participants. Survey method was employed and total 370 data was used for statistical analysis. The results of factor analysis showed that three factors were extracted from lifestyle(Activity, Example, Commonness), and four factors were found from festival selection attribute(Food, Service, Program, Cleanliness). In addition, three clusters(Outgoing personality, Gentle character, Normal character) were extracted from the result of cluster analysis. The result of chi-square shows that selection attributes are significantly different by clusters of festival. Therefore the festival host need to focus on various kinds of BBQ along with diverse foods and activities to make attractive cultual experience festival for visitors who visited with family. Additionally, all selection attributes except clearness have significantly influence on responsive relationship. Thus, the organizer should make an effort to provide high quality of various selection attributes. Current study will be contribute to develop various and fascinating local festival expecially related to food.
A lifestyle changes according to environment. It appears more in the dietary life connected with the necessities in life. This study is executed empirically through the questionnaire that consists of selection attribute and variables connected with "well-being" that is examined in empirical analysis. It was carried out for 20 days from July 15 to August 5, 2003 with the customers who live in Seoul and the suburbs. With collected data, there were frequency analysis and factor analysis, reliability analysis using SPSS 10.0 packages, and T-test and ANOVA were enforced for the verification of differences between demographic elements with each factor. The result indicates that the inclinations of customers changed from the "well-being" trend have four factors: health consideration factor, food materials factor, cooking factor, and habit factor. And the housewife group shows the great changes in habit factor. In case of the changes according to incomes, the larger income earners tend to consider health more. In conclusion, people came to prefer the healthy Korean style food from the well-being trend.
Objectives: The rapidly changing dietary environment requires a study that addresses the status of middle and high school students regarding their consumption of convenience food sold at convenience stores. Methods: This study examined adolescents' lifestyle patterns, dietary habits, and status of consuming convenience food at convenience stores. A total of 659 students (329 middle school students and 330 high school students) in Incheon participated in this questionnaire survey. Results: The mean age of the subjects was 13.7 years for the middle school students, and 16.6 years for the high school students. The gender and grade distributions in the middle and high school students were similar. The middle school students reported that they spent more time using electronic devices (p<0.001) or watching TV (p<0.001) than high school students. More than 60% of middle and high school students consumed convenience food at convenience stores without statistical difference between the two groups. The main reason for consuming convenience food from convenience stores was its convenience followed by taste in both groups. Despite the high frequency of consuming convenience food, the students rarely checked the nutrition labels at the time of purchase. On the other hand, they were still most concerned about the nutritional value of the convenience foods when they consumed convenience foods. The most frequently consumed convenience food was ramyon in both groups. Significant positive correlations were observed between the frequency of consuming convenience food at convenience stores and lifestyle factors for the middle school students, including monthly allowance, time for using electronic devices, and number of private lessons. For the high school students, however, the only monthly allowance had a significant positive correlation with the consumption. Conclusions: Adolescents are increasingly exposed to convenience foods and relevant nutritional issues are a concern. Therefore, a dietary environment that is adequately formed for the healthy development of youth as well as systematic nutrient education that is appropriately designed for both middle and high school students is required.

This study is to research the use and the demand of the elderly generation that pursue economic ability and active lifestyle. The composition of the meals were "homemade meals" 65.3%, "homemade & convenience meals" 26.7% overall. For the "never miss a meal" category, 70-74 years old was 48.3%, over 80 years old was 60.0%. The elderly under 70 years old showed a high frequency in the use of alternative meals (p < 0.05) and the elderly with higher education used the alternative meals more frequently (p < 0.01). The rice-cakes, bread, tuna cans, Korean side-dishes, beverages, meat, cup-noodles and seafood as alternative meals are in the order of most frequency. Also, 96.0%, 59.0% and 46.5% of the elderly had experience in using "Ready to eat (RTE)", "Ready to heat (RTH)" and "Ready to cook (RTC)". The oldest group surveyed, the elderly at the age of 80 years old and above showed lower preference for "completely cooked state" but showed highest results in the "half-cooked state". This shows the difference between people's perception and the behavior that showed high frequency of 96.0% in the experience with "RTE". This can be inferred that the elderly needs the development of convenience food that is moderately packaged according to the newer lifestyle where the elderly live independent from their children. Moreover, there is a higher demand in the healthy convenience food, which means that there is a need for development in the quality of the convenience food that will allow more faith in convenience food by the elderly.

BACKGROUND/OBJECTIVES: The increased consumers' interests in health and food safety have increased the demand for organic foods. Many studies have been performed on consumers' purchase intentions for organic foods and their influencing factors, and various studies have shown that the prices of organic foods and the consumers' willingness to pay are important influencing factors. This study examined the payment value of organic foods and agrifood consumer competency index according to the food-related lifestyles in South Korean consumers. SUBJECTS/METHODS: A cross-sectional analysis was performed using the 2019 Consumer Behavior Survey for Food. A total of 6,176 participants aged 19 to 74 years (male: 2,783, female: 3,393) were included in the analysis. RESULTS: Three factors were extracted by factor analysis (rational consumption-seeking type, convenience-seeking type, and health, and safety-seeking type) to explain the consumers' food-related lifestyles. The results of cluster analysis suggested that consumers were classified into 3 food-related lifestyles as the 'exploratory consumers' (n = 2,485), 'safety-seeking consumers' (n = 1,544), and 'passive consumers' (n = 2,147). Exploratory consumers showed a significantly higher willingness to pay for imported organic foods (P < 0.05). Safety-seeking consumers had a significantly higher willingness to pay for domestic organic foods (P < 0.05). For the agrifood consumer competency index, exploratory consumers had the highest score, followed in order by safety-seeking consumers and passive consumers. CONCLUSIONS: These results provide basic data in understanding consumption tendency for organic foods and agrifoods based on food-related lifestyles of South Korean consumers.
The purpose of this study was to compare the anthropometry and nutrition knowledge, food behaviour and lifestyle of women college students with different obesity indexes. The subjects were 251 women college students who were randomly selected from Kunsan National University. The height, body weight, soft/lean mass, fat mass, percentage of body fat, and fat distribution were measured, and health-related lifestyle habits were evaluated based on questionnaires. The subjects were assigned to one of the following groups based on their Body Mass Index (BMI) : underweight, normal weight and overweight. The results were as follows. Their body weight, soft/lean mass, fat mass, percentage of body fat, and fat distribution were significantly higher in the overweight subjects when compared to the underweight or normal weight subjects. Standard of living, self-recognition of health status and duration of exercise were significantly correlated with their BMIs. Self-satisfaction with body weight decreased as the BMI increased. Most subjects had poor habits such as skipping meals and lack of exercises. The overweight and the underweight groups skipped meals more frequently than the normal weight group. There were no significant differences in the scores on the nutritional knowledge and the dietary behaviour of the subjects with different BMIs. Therefore, proper nutritional education on regular meals and intervention are required if women college students are to have normal weights and healthy lifestyles. The purpose of this paper is to examine the relationships among consumer lifestyle, brand attitude, brand attachment, and behavior pattern. Sampling with consumers who experienced eating out in regional catering companies as a population was done and the survey was conducted targeting consumers of catering companies in Gwangju. Therefore, it analyzed the sample by setting hypotheses and research model according to the research objective. First, as for the relationship between lifestyle and brand attitude, the lifestyle as a personal inclination formed a significant relationship with brand attitude the characteristics of which are recognition, convenience, and familiar features regardless of the type of lifestyle. Second, consumer lifestyle in types of reality seeking, value-oriented, and fashion-pursuing formed a significant relationships with brand attachment in order of mention, whereas social oriented type did not form a significant relationship. Third, the relationship between consumer brand attitude and brand loyalty formed a significant relation with the relationship between consumer brand attachment and brand loyalty.
