  • A Study traditional folk house and primary factor from investigation of Wang-Gok villages space composition program which is contains regional color, economy, rationality. From that's all, Analysis the effect of modern life style to folk house space pattern change and a primary factor of northern traditional fork house type of Korea. 1. 민화 호랑이를 응용한 스포츠웨어 디자인 연구 (A Study of Sportswear Designs Using the Tiger Motif found in Folk Painting)

  • This study�s purpose is to contrive the national brand image, developing sportswear design and related-culture by using tiger which represents Korea used to design sportswear�s logo and design. For the method of study, illustrator CS3 was used to design three vests and three sports shirts for both men and women by characterizing tiger image from Korean folk painting tiger. Tiger appears commonly in paintings, folk tales and literature of Korea since ancient times. It was even used as a mascot of Seoul Olympic on 1988. Many global sports companies choose an animal that represents their brand to advertise such as Lacoste, le coq sportif and musingwear, wolsey. This study could provide example design adapting korean traditional patterns, also expects for culture advertising Korean traditional culture and developing designs of Korean fashion companies.

중부형민가와 비교를 통한 제천지역 민가의 평면특성에 관한 조사연구 (A Study on the Characteristic of the Folk Houses' Plans compared with Central Region's ones in Che-chun City)

  • After 18th century in Korea, a tendency of the traditional folk houses shows not only the typical types but also the cultural areas in terms of each regional part. The existing folk houses are selected in order to compare the characteristic of the plans with those of the central region in Korea. Moreover this region has been a collided zone of culture and military from the old period of the Three Kingdoms, because the district of Che-chun is located between the southern part and the central one. So its culture and housing plan showed as unique forms, so-called the Culture of Frontier and Composite. Consequently the purposes of this study are to grasp the characteristic of those plans and to compare the plan types with ones of the central region. For the attainment of the above goal, this investigated study is prosecuted by means of the existing 6-folk houses in Che-chun city.

사령수(四靈獸) 민화의 도상해석학적 분석에 의한 패션문화상품 디자인 개발 (Development of Fashion Cultural Product Design Based on the Iconological Analysis of Four Auspicious Animals in Korean Folk Painting)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop fashion cultural products that contain an example of cultural symbolism, which is based on the results of iconological analysis seen on imaginary animals. The method of research was to derive design ideas through a verbal association method, using the technique of mind map as based on the iconological analysis results. In the scarf design, four auspicious animals were used as the main motifs, and the background elements that appeared with each folk painting were used as sub-motifs for each of the four animals. In this case, the Yong was expressed with an image of clouds and flames as sub-motifs, and was strongly represented by the presence of a contrast color combination. In what follows, the Bonghwang was used with the sun and feathers in a stable structure due to its four-way arrangement, and was expressed with its soft light tone. The Shingoo was used with blue and khaki colors of dull and deep tone, and the image of aquatic plants and lotus were used. Finally, with the Kirin was represented by a symmetrical structure as characterized with a dull toned color and square border that provides a sense of stability. The clutch bags were as generally expressed using simple animal motifs, and were composed of a uniform motif and color. The design process used the Illustrator CS6 to perform motifs design. In the end, the process finally developed the actual product of eight scarves and four clutch handbags.

The Expression and Characteristics of Mexican Poncho Costume Appropriated In Modern Fashion -Focus on James O Young's Cultural Appropriating Techniques-

  • Appropriation is of considerable significance in a cultural trend of thought, as one of the means of realizing the post-modernism period. With the increasing use of appropriation techniques in modern fashion, it is necessary to study the external performance and internal aesthetic value of appropriation in fashion. In the book of cultural appropriation, American scholar James o young divides into three categories of appropriation in culture, namely: object appropriation, content appropriation, and subject appropriation. Based on James O Young's three types of appropriation techniques summarized in the theory of the cultural appropriation, the purpose of this study is through the appropriation of the poncho of traditional Mexican clothing in modern fashion as an example; analyzing the external appropriation characteristics and internal aesthetic significance of different appropriation type. The results are as follows. First, designers take the Originality in modern fashion by expressing Mexican Poncho's form, color, pattern, and material as it is through object appropriation technique. Second, through the Mexican folk poncho's style, designers used these to show the similarity produced by content appropriation in modern fashion. Third, designers used the poncho's design concept or poncho's culture, blending the theme of the collection, adding different color, pattern or materials such as fur, lace, and wool, and presenting a new image different from folk costumes through creative subject appropriation technique.

민가정원의 효율적 유지관리를 위한 공원화 방안에 대한 기초연구 (A Basic Study on The Management Plan of Traditional Gardens in Folk Houses as a Park)

  • 한국의 전통정원은 자연과 인공구조물의 조화를 기반으로 조성되어져 당시의 시대상, 생활상, 문화, 예술 등의 다양한 문화, 역사적 가치를 가진다. 이러한 전통정원 중, 문화재보호법에 의해 문화재로 지정되었으나 사유재산으로 소유주의 고령화, 상속, 관리부족 등의 문제로 인해 훼손, 손실되어 가고 있는 민간정원의 효율적이고 지속적인 유지관리가 시급한 상황이다. 그럼으로 본 연구에서는 공원화를 도입하여 효율적인 이용과 체계적인 관리를 하고 있는 일본의 전통정원의 공원화 사례조사와 국내의 민가정원의 현황 및 유지관리의 문제점, 소유주의 공원화에 대한 의지, 공원화에 필요한 조건에 대한 청문조사를 실시하여 향후 민가정원의 공원화 도입에 있어서의 방향성을 제시하는데 기초적 근거자료로 활용하고자 연구를 진행하였다. 그 결과, 일본의 전통정원의 경우, 소유주체를 법인화하여 입장료에 의해 생기는 수입을 유지관리에 조달하고 있으며 지자체와 연구기관과의 연계를 통해 이용과 보전을 기반으로 공원화를 추진하고 있는 것을 확인 할 수 있었다. 그리고 국내의 민가정원의 조사결과 소유주 대부분이 관리에 있어 어려움을 겪고 있으며 공원화를 통한 체계적 유지관리에 긍정적인 의지를 갖고 있는 것이 확인 되었다.

아산 외암마을 토속경관의 문화유산적 가치 (The Landscape Value of Asan Oeam-ri's Folk Village as Cultural Heritage)

  • 근대화 과정에서 우리나라의 수많은 농촌마을은 문화경관적 건전성을 상실한 채 변질이나 해체과정을 경험하고 있다. 그러나 충청남도 아산에 위치하는 외암마을(국가지정 문화재 중요민속자료 제236호, 세계문화유산 잠정목록)은 신전통주의 부흥을 추구하며 지속성을 유지한 채 한국의 대표적인 민속마을로 자리매김하고 있다. 외암마을은 예안이씨 동족마을로 500여년의 긴 역사 동안 환경적, 경제적, 사회적 지속성과 건전성을 지켜온 민속마을로서 문화유산적 가치 측면에서 'Outstanding Universal Value'의 필요충분조건을 갖춘 토속경관 사례이다. 유교적 문화경관 지표물(종가, 사당과 묘역, 신도비, 정려와 송덕비, 정자 등)과 다양한 민간신앙 요소(장승과 솟대, 당산목, 산신당, 마을숲 등), 그리고 유 무형의 생활문화(활발한 문중활동과 엄정한 조상숭배 의례, 가계계승의식, 공동체 농경문화 및 생태환경의 보존 등)를 지속성있게 전승함으로써 전통시대 양반촌을 상징하는 보편성과 완전성, 그리고 진정성을 유지한 채 정체성을 표출하고 있다. 특히, 동아시아의 독특한 환경설계원리인 풍수지리적 관점에서 마을을 자리 잡기하여 환경적으로 건전한 정주공간(nature + economy + environment + community)을 구축함으로서 토속성 짙은 문화경관을 완성한 사례가 되는데, 외암오산(광덕, 설아, 송악, 월라, 면잠)과 외암오수(용추, 인곡, 반계, 역천, 온정)와 같은 광역 생태문화경관의 보전과 같은 자연환경의 절제, 그리고 생태환경의 질서와 문화적 가치를 중시하는 환경관(capacity + healthy + sustain-ability)을 결합하여 지속성과 진정성을 지켜나가고 있다. 이러한 관점에서 볼 때 외암마을 토속문화경관은 유네스코 세계유산 등록기준 IV(인류역사의 발달단계를 보여주는 뛰어난 유형의 건축물이나 건조물 집합체 또는 조경유산)와 V(뛰어난 유형의 전통 인간 거주지 또는 급격한 변화로 파괴의 위험에 직면한 문화의 대표적 유산으로서 토지에 기반을 둔 유산)의 범주에 포함되는 우리나라 공동체 사회의 대표적 사례가 된다.

세계 민족 헤드드레스 유형의 지역별 분류 (Geographical Classification of the World Folk Headdress Types)

  • Headdress which adorns the head has been used not only as a type of dress but also as a vehicle to express the human's mentality and a tool to convey ideas. This study first examines the type of headdress observed in the world folk costumes and investigates their geographical distribution and aims to examine how the types of headdress are inter-related to the peoples' natural environments, way of life and cultural background such as religion and aesthetic, ethical standards. Headdress used as important elements of many peoples' folk costumes can be categorized into scarf-type, hat-type and adornment-type. Veil-type, the one of scarf-types, was developed in Southwestern Asia and Arabic Africa influenced by natural and religious factors. This type is more simplified in Turkey and Eastern Europe and only covers head and neck in the former and only head in the latter while also being called 'headkerchief-type'. Hat-type is observed in many different parts of the world. Adornment-type has been used to symbolized one's noble social status and authority in societies dominated by shamanistic cultural background; it was also used in Far East out of the motivation to fulfil one's aesthetic desire. Headdress though it was originally made from the idential purpose of wearing, has developed into the various types affected by each people's natural environments, emotion and ways of life.

조선조 가구의 장식적 표현기법과 무늬의 특징-덴마크와 한국의 민속가구 비교를 중심으로- (The Characteristics of Ornamental Technique and Motifs in Folk Furniture of Chosun Dynasty-In Reference to a Comparison between Danish and Korean Folk Furniture-)

  • This study was carried out to find out some similarities and differences of the ornamental technique and motifs in folk furniture between Denmark and Korea which had quite different background of development of folk furniture as one of a cross-cultural study. Furniture made and used in the 18th and 19th century was investigated in order to eliminate the influence of internationalism in the design area in the 20th century. This study was fulfilled by many study trips all over the districts in Denmark to identify Danish folk furniture as well as literature study. Study trips to folk museums. Insa-dong, Janghanpyung furniture market were done for Korean folk furniture. Characteristics of ornament in Danish folk furniture were as followings; Main materials of the Danish folk furniture were conifers, especially pine tree, as pine was very common and easy to get from their surroundings. The most popular and unique types of decoration in Danish folk furniture was painting. Colors used in painted furniture were very bright and vivid. This might be a reaction to the long and dark winter of Scandinavian countries. Motifs used in Danish folk furniture had been chosen to reflect their surroundings. Flowers, six-angular stars, animals, human figures and Biblical motifs were popular sources of decoration for Danish folk furniture. Characteristics of Korean folk furniture were as followings; Main materials of Korean folk furniture were broad-leaved trees as well as conifers, because of their beautiful wood grain. The Korean ways of decoration were different from Danish ones. The method of painting with bright from Danish ones. The method of painting with bright colors was hardly ever used in Korea, except only in lacquering. The most popular decoration method for Korean folk furniture was revealing the natural wood grain with transparent vegetable oil finish, instead of painting. Metal ornament was unique to Korean folk furniture. therefore a lot of metal ornaments were attached on the furniture. Motifs used in Korean folk furniture were more like symbolic than Danish ones. Korean people tried to express their longings and norms through the motifs, such as longevity, prosperity, good luck, and many sons, etc. Therefore, it was natural for Korean motifs to have special symbolic meanings.

공공도서관에서의 향토문화콘텐츠 활성화 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on Vitalization Methods of Local Cultural Contents in the Public Libraries)

  • 본 연구에서는 공공도서관을 중심으로 한 향토문화콘텐츠 수집, 분류, 보관 등에 대해서 조사하였으며, 정부정책 수행 시 도서관이 어떤 방법으로 향토문화콘텐츠를 확보하고 전국 공공도서관과 협력하여 대국민서비스를 제공할 수 있을 것인가에 대한 방안을 제시하고자 하였다. 선행연구, 설문조사, 사례조사 등을 통해 도출한 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 공공도서관은 향토문화콘텐츠를 제공하는 타 기관 등과 달리 지역주민들의 접근성이 높다. 따라서 도서관은 지역주민의 지식 및 관심 강화, 지역의 역사성 보존 등의 공공적 역할을 위해 지역의 향토문화콘텐츠를 수집 보존 활용하는 역할을 담당하여야 할 것이다. 둘째, 도서관의 공공성을 기반으로 지자체 및 중앙정부의 적극적 관심과 지원 유도 그리고 타 기관과의 협력네트워크 구축 등에 의한 향토문화콘텐츠 관리여건 개선방안을 모색하여야 할 것이다. 이를 통해 지역 고유 향토문화콘텐츠 수집, 콘텐츠화 강화 및 다양한 요구를 포괄하는 이용자 중심 도서관 서비스를 확대해야 할 것이다. 셋째, 향토문화콘텐츠에 대한 정기적이고 체계적인 조사 및 구축을 통해 지역문화를 중심으로 한 도서관에서의 향토문화콘텐츠 수집, 창조, 활용의 서비스 확대를 제공해야 한다. 이를 통해 공공도서관의 위상 및 존재감 향상뿐만 아니라 장기적으로 지역 공공도서관의 새로운 역할 확대를 통한 인류문화 발전에 기여할 수 있을 것이다.
