In this paper, we propose a discriminative color quantization algorithm depending on the degree of focus of the regions. When we take pictures, we usually focus the object that we want to emphasize. This means that focused area on the photograph contains important information. If the focused area is displayed with more colors, we can express the important information in more detail. This paper proposes a color quantization method that determines the focused area and assigns more colors for the area.
In this paper, we proposed a river water level detection and tracking of the river or dams based on image processing system. In past, most of the water level detection system used various water sensors. Those water sensors works perfectly but have many drawbacks such as high cost and harsh weather. Water level monitoring system helps in forecasting early river disasters and maintenance of the water body area. However, the early river disaster warning system introduces many conflicting requirements. Surveillance camera based water level detection system depends on either the area of interest from the water body or on optical flow algorithm. This proposed system is focused on water scaling area of a river or dam to detect water level. After the detection of scale area from water body, the proposed algorithm will immediately focus on the digits available on that area. Using the numbers on the scale, water level of the river is predicted. This proposed system is successfully tested on different water bodies to detect the water level area and predicted the water level.

In wireless sensor networks, sensors have capabilities of sensing and wireless communication, computing power and collect data such as sound, movement, vibration. Sensors need to communicate wirelessly to send their sensing data to other sensors or the base station and so they are vulnerable to many attacks like garbage packet injection that cannot be prevented by using traditional cryptographic mechanisms. To defend against such attacks, a behavior-based attack detection is used in which some specialized monitoring nodes overhear the communications of their neighbors(normal nodes) to detect illegitimate behaviors. It is desirable that the total sensing area of normal nodes covered by monitoring nodes is as large as possible. The previous researches have focused on selecting the monitoring nodes so as to maximize the number of normal nodes(node coverage), which does not guarantee that the area sensed by the selected normal nodes is maximized. In this study, we have developed an algorithm for selecting the monitoring nodes needed to cover the maximum sensing area. We also have compared experimentally the covered sensing areas computed by our algorithm and the node coverage algorithm.
Radiofrequency(RF) signal is a key medium to the most of the present wireless communication devices including RF identification devices(RFID) and smart sensors. However, the most critical barrier to overcome in RFID application is in the failure rate in detection. The most notable improvement in the detection was from the introduction of EPC Class1 Gen2 protocol, but the fundamental problems in the physical properties of the RF signal drew less attention. In this work, we focused on the physical properties of the RF signal in order to understand the failure rate by noting the existence of the ground planes and noise sources in the real environment. By using the mathematical computation software, Maple, we simulated the distribution of the electromagnetic field from a dipole antenna when ground planes exist. Calculations showed that the dark area can be formed by interference. We also constructed a test system to measure the failure rate in the detection of a RFID transponder. The test system was composed of a fixed RFID reader and an EPC Class1 Gen2 transponder which was attached to a scanner to sweep in the x-y plane. Labview software was used to control the x-y scanner and to acquire data. Tests in the laboratory environment showed that the dark area can be as much as 43 %. One who wants to use RFID and smart sensors should carefully consider the extent of the dark area.
Recent advancements in the IT industry have made daily life more convenient than ever before. In particular, studies have focused on the position detection of individuals using the GPS in smartphones, and this application has been utilized actively in emergency rescue organizations. However, existing methods send the location information of a user to a predetermined guardian set by the user or to a control center when the user enters into or deviates from a predetermined space. Such spaces are created by an arbitrary radius, thereby making it difficult to set a detailed area by using an existing radius-area creation method in an unstructured space and path with a specific road, such as for trekking, amusement parks, or mountaineering. This study proposes a novel method for setting up an area by connecting multiple radii to improve the existing radius-area creation method in order to easily set a detailed area in smart devices or on the Internet. In addition, an optimization method for resource use is proposed by comparing the operation results in which a user's location is detected by using the proposed location-based area setup method and deviation detection.

This paper proposes a feature extraction method for sketch-based image retrieval of animation character. We extract the specific regions using the detection of scene change and correlation points between two frames, and the property of animation production. We detect the area of focused similar colors in extracted specific region. And it is used as feature descriptor for image retrieval that focused color(FC) of regions, size, relation between FCs. Finally, an user can retrieve the similar character using property of animation production and user's sketch as a query Image.

The shadows, which is generated when acquiring data using optical sensor, mutilates consistency of brightness for same objects in the images. Hence, it makes a trouble to interpret the ground information. This study is focused on detecting the shadowing area in the images. And only single image is used without any other data which is acquired from different source. Also, This study presents the method using HSI color model, especially, using I(intensity) information, and the intensity clustering algorithm. Then, we illuminate the effects of shadow by FFT(Fast Fourier Transform).
Purpose The main purpose of this study is to improve fake news detection performance by using video information to overcome the limitations of extant text- and image-oriented studies that do not reflect the latest news consumption trend. Design/methodology/approach This study collected video clips and related information including news scripts, speakers' facial expression, and video metadata from YouTube to develop fake news detection model. Based on the collected data, seven combinations of related information (i.e. scripts, video metadata, facial expression, scripts and video metadata, scripts and facial expression, and scripts, video metadata, and facial expression) were used as an input for taining and evaluation. The input data was analyzed using six models such as support vector machine and deep neural network. The area under the curve(AUC) was used to evaluate the performance of classification model. Findings The results showed that the ACU and accuracy values of three features combination (scripts, video metadata, and facial expression) were the highest in logistic regression, naïve bayes, and deep neural network models. This result implied that the fake news detection could be improved by using video information(video metadata and facial expression). Sample size of this study was relatively small. The generalizablity of the results would be enhanced with a larger sample size.

With advancements in satellite technology, interest in target detection and identification is increasing quantitatively and qualitatively. Synthetic Aperture Radar(SAR) images, which can be acquired regardless of weather conditions, have been applied to various areas combined with machine learning based detection algorithms. However, conventional studies primarily focused on the detection of stationary targets. In this study, we proposed a method to identify moving targets using an algorithm that integrates sub-aperture SAR images and cosine similarity calculations. Utilizing a transformer-based deep learning target detection model, we extracted the bounding box of each target, designated the area as a region of interest (ROI), estimated the similarity between sub-aperture SAR images, and determined movement based on a predefined similarity threshold. Through the proposed algorithm, the quantitative evaluation of target identification capability enhanced its accuracy compared to when training with the targets with two different classes. It signified the effectiveness of our approach in maintaining accuracy while reliably discerning whether a target is in motion.

Recently, in automotive technology area, intelligent safety systems have been actively accomplished for drivers, passengers, and pedestrians. Also, many researches are focused on development of autonomous vehicles. This paper propose the application of LiDAR sensors, which takes major role in perceiving environment, terrain classification, obstacle data clustering method, and local map building for autonomous driving. Finally, based on these results, planning for lane change path that vehicle tracking possible were created and the reliability of path generation were experimented.
