Mobile fish-cage was developed assuming a cage net with an enclosed area, which and estimated the hydrodynamic characteristics of the cage through the model experiment. Flux-shielding plates, installed in the bow were compared with the resistance test carried out by making a hole, bilge keel and stud, and basic block flow rate consisting of the results to a flat surface plate. The experimental results confirmed the improved resistance performance effect of 3~6% in the bilge keel and the stud form. To assess the stability of the fish-cage, evaluation of the stability in accordance with the stability criteria for determining the floating docks had confirmed that it satisfied the static stability performance under operating conditions at sea.

The primary objective of the current work is to obviously analyze regarding effects of trim conditions of a ship on resistance performance using model test and CFD. Model tests at a towing tank are conducted to investigate resistance for trim conditions at the given same displacement. Measured resistance shows small but distinct differences according to trim conditions. However, these differences are difficult to be clarified by measured physical quantities and wave pattern analysis from model tests. CFD is employed for the assessment of resistance performance according to trim conditions. The flow computation is conducted considering free surface and dynamic trim using a commercial CFD code (STAR-CCM+). The initiative of the present work is to systematically demonstrate pressure resistance acting on each region of divided finite zones of ship surface along the length and draught direction of surface when pressure distribution on the ship is interpreted. Also, a standard to assess the pressure resistance applied on the divided regions of a ship is established.
For engineers, generating a mesh in porous media (PMs) sometimes represents a smaller computational load than generating realistic stent geometries with computer fluid dynamics (CFD). For this reason, PMs have recently become attractive to mimic flow-diverter stents (FDs), which are used to treat intracranial aneurysms. PMs function by introducing a hydraulic resistance using Darcy's law; therefore, the pressure drop may be computed by test sections parallel and perpendicular to the main flow direction. However, in previous studies, the pressure drop parallel to the flow may have depended on the width of the gap between the stent and the wall of the test section. Furthermore, the influence of parameters such as the test section geometry and the distance over which the pressure drops was not clear. Given these problems, computing the pressure drop parallel to the flow becomes extremely difficult. The aim of the present study is to resolve this lack of information for stent modeling using PM and to compute the pressure drop using several methods to estimate the influence of the relevant parameters. To determine the pressure drop as a function of distance, an FD was placed parallel and perpendicular to the flow in test sections with rectangular geometries. The inclined angle method was employed to extrapolate the flow patterns in the parallel direction. A similar approach was applied with a cylindrical geometry to estimate loss due to pipe friction. Additionally, the pressure drops were computed by using CFD. To determine if the balance of pressure drops (parallel vs perpendicular) affects flow patterns, we calculated the flow patterns for an ideal aneurysm using PMs with various ratios of parallel pressure drop to perpendicular pressure drop. The results show that pressure drop in the parallel direction depends on test section. The PM thickness and the ratio of parallel permeability to perpendicular permeability affect the flow pattern in an ideal aneurysm. Based on the permeability ratio and the flow patterns, the pressure drop in the parallel direction can be determined.

To obtain low resistance and high efficiency energy-saving ship, minimum total resistance hull form design method is studied based on potential flow theory of wave-making resistance and considering the effects of tail viscous separation. With the sum of wave resistance and viscous resistance as objective functions and the parameters of B-Spline function as design variables, mathematical models are built using Nonlinear Programming Method (NLP) ensuring the basic limit of displacement and considering rear viscous separation. We develop ship lines optimization procedures with intellectual property rights. Series60 is used as parent ship in optimization design to obtain improved ship (Series60-1) theoretically. Then drag tests for the improved ship (Series60-1) is made to get the actual minimum total resistance hull form.

Tests are conducted according to the ISO TS 16774, Part 3 standard for quality management of leakage repair materials used in cracks in underground concrete structures. These test methods are performed indirectly using a nonwoven fabric on a chalet containing leak repair materials. However, it is considered that it is appropriate to verify the resistance of the repair material, which is required to be applied directly to the cracks in the actual field and to exhibit the resistance of the flow velocity. In this study, mass change was measured by using nonwoven fabric and nonwoven fabric. As a result, both methods showed an increase in mass, which indicated that the maintenance material itself contained a large amount of water, and that the mass change occurred depending on the drying state. Also, depending on the use of nonwoven fabric, the error due to the indirect test could not be ruled out. Therefore, further verification is needed, and it is considered that the test for change of mass reduction measurement is necessary according to the drying time of other types of the same series.
In this paper, we present test results of developed 100 W class linear compressor for Stirling-type pulse tube refrigerator. The fabricated linear compressor has dual-opposed configuration, free piston and moving magnet type linear motor. Power transfer, efficiency and required pressure waveform are predicted with designed and measured specifications. In experiments, room temperature test with flow impedance is conducted to evaluate performance of developed linear compressor. Flow impedance is loaded to compressor with metering valve for flow resistance, inertance tube for flow inertance and buffer volumes for flow compliance. Several operating parameters such as input voltage, current, piston displacement and pressure wave are measured for various operating frequency and fixed input current level. Behaviors of dynamics and performance of linear compressor as varying flow impedance are discussed with measured experimental results. The developed linear compressor shows 124 W of input power, 86 % of motor efficiency and 60 % of compressor efficiency at its resonant operating condition.

This paper discusses some practical problems of the determination of ship wave resistance from flow calculation and the model test. there are so many kind of CFD program as FLUENT, WAVIS, SHIPFLOW, COMET etc. for finding optimized hull. we should know how much percent we trust the program. so if we gather computed values of the wave resistance we'll able to get more accurated values of presumptive.

Currently more high flow and high performance concrete is used for construction of buildings in the world. However, when high flow and high performance concrete put high performance water reducing agent in quantity to improve flow, it has a negative effect on concrete structures since segregation arises from it though flow will be improved. There are naked-eye observation, coarse aggregate washing test, L Flow test for permeation among reinforcing rods and measurement of viscosity to judge concrete segregation resistance. However, it is difficult to apply them to practical affairs since they are very complicated and troublesome. Therefore, the study analyzed EIS dividing slump flow value into slump value, how to valuate concrete segregation resistance more easily, on the basis of the existing reference materials to propose EIS. As the results, in the event of high flow concrete, it is desirable that EIS value is prescribed to be less than 2.5 at the time of managing segregation. Also, at the time of prescribing EIS with performance, it is judged that it is desirable to manage segregation as less than 2.2 (Grade 1), 2.2$\sim$2.4 (Grade 2) and more than 2.6 (Grade 3).
The electrical contact resistance between the bipolar plate (BP) and the carbon felt electrode (CFE), which are in contact by the stack clamping pressure, has a great impact on the stack efficiency because of the relatively low clamping pressure of the vanadium redox flow battery (VRFB) stack. In this study, a polyethylene (PE) composite-CFE hybrid bipolar plate structure is developed through a local heat welding process to reduce such contact resistance and improve cell performance. The PE matrix of the carbon fiber composite BP is locally melted to create a direct contact structure between the carbon fibers of CFE and the carbon fibers of BP, thereby reducing the electrical contact resistance. Area specific resistance (ASR) and gas permeability are measured to evaluate the performance of the PE composite-CFE hybrid bipolar plate. In addition, an acid aging test is performed to measure stack reliability. Finally, a VFRB unit cell charge/discharge test is performed to compare and analyze the performance of the developed PE composite-CFE hybrid BP and the conventional BP.

This paper presents the results of a comparative analysis of the model test results to investigate the effect of bulbous bow installed on a large full form ship to the ship resistance performance. Seven parameters related to the shape of bulbous bow were selected and varied systematically to inquire their effects experimentally. A total number of twenty-three ship models with different bulbous bow were manufactured, and resistance tests. flow visualization test, and wave profile measurement were carried out for each model. For the comparative analysis between the various bulb forms and their model test results, bulbous bow forms are classified into nine groups according to their form characteristics. From the analysis of the trend of the resistance components, it was verified that form resistance has dominant effect on the total resistance of a slow full form ship. The model test and its statistical analysis showed that the direction of streamlines around bulbous bow has close relationship with resistance components. especially with form resistance
