유럽의 주택전시회를 통해 본 주거건축 계획의 시대적 쟁점 - 1920-30년대 공작연맹주최 주택전시회에서 제시된 새로운 평면개념을 중심으로 - (A View of Contemporary Issues of Housing Architecture in the European Housing Exhibition -Focused on the Floorplan Concepts of Werkbund Housing in the 20's-30's-)

  • The Werkbund housing exhibitions in Europe in the 20's and 30's presented various planning concepts and played a important roll for modernization of housing Architecture. This study, therefore, aims to understand the contemporary issues of housing in this period, which showed the meaningful momentum for housing plans today. In order to grasp the general characteristics of exhibition housing the representative cases -Weissenhofsiedlung, Dammerstock, Breslausiedlung, Werkbund Siedlung in $Z\"{u}rich-Neub\"{u}hl$, Werkbundsiedlung Wien und BaBa- were throught documents analyzed. The architects offered an innovative building typology such as row housing and new prototype of housing units accordingly social needs. Especially, In this study housing unitplans were in 6 groups such as flexible type, cabin type, free open plan, Raumplan, functional 2-story type and corridor type categorized. And they were analyzed how deeply technological development, architectural design perceptions as well as functional aspects had on the planning of floorplans reflected. As a result, in the housing exhibitions various architectural ideas presented the "Zeitgeist" not only such as improvement of physical environment of housing, but also such as rationalization, standardization, functionalization, normalization of housing architecture. Also their unitplans corresponded to newly developed building typology and modern household type. As well as they represented notable spatial concepts. Moreover it contributed to create a new paradigm of housing for the new epoch.

공유경계를 통해 본 공유주거의 계획특성 - 국내외 도심 속 사례를 중심으로 - (The Plan Characteristics of Shared Housing through the Boundaries of Shared Space - A Focusing on the case of Urban Area in Domestic and Overseas -)

  • According to Plato's ontology, we lead our lives by establishing a relationship with others in the society. However in rapidly changing era, our lives was gradually moving towards personal tendency. Even for the relationship with family, not with others. Thus, awareness about owning properties has changed due to the sociocultural factors and increase number of single-person households. So in this study, the considerations for single-person housing were perceived through preceding research, and the elements making spatial boundary of shared housing were drawn to make rational space sharing based on the boundary with others and of the living environment. With overall analysis based on the spatial boundary features of planned shared housing, the plan characteristics according to the spatial boundary of the current shared housing is to be drawn and analyzed. Third, The expressive and structural features of spatial boundary as above appear with mutual flexible connectivity, And the result shows that the modularity was the highest. Among them variable coupling modularity of shows how it is possible to combine efficiently and variously the private and public spaces with regularity of 'space of optimal unit'. This study drew plan characteristics from more detailed space border of shared housing. Therefore, The basic framework of the characteristics spin for the cases that newly emerge later on.

장수명 공동주택의 가변성 확보를 위한 벽체 인터페이스 유형화 연구 (A Study on the Categorization of Interface for the Flexibility in the Wall System of Long Life Housing)

  • The purpose of this study was to comprehend specific characteristic of interface and present the standardized interface of Long Life Housing, which could be obtained by the total and various approaches. With this in mind we analyzed related studies of interface through previous studies, and based on the analysis we created standardized factors of categorization in view of characteristic of interface. Using these factors, we can determine whether the interface could be used systematically in Long Life Housing. And as these were presented in the form of Key Map for expedite the synthetic understanding of interface, we could easily reconize types of interface. Especially, we only dealt the wall of flexible interface of Long Life Housing. Throughout systemizing and standardizing works, we can expedite the understanding of interface of Long Life Housing and finally, we want to make basic data used for date base of interface which can be available for Long Life Housing.

재난 지원을 위한 DfMA 모듈러주택 모델 제안 (Proposing a DfMA Modular Housing Model for Disaster Relief Support)

  • 본 연구는 자연 재해 및 사회 재난 발생으로 주거권의 보장을 위한 임시주거 시설의 수요가 증가하는 추세에 대비하여 이재민에게 신속하게 양질의 주택을 공급코자 수행되었다. 대량 생산 및 운반에 효율적인 계획 모델을 만들기에 적합한 DfMA 설계 방식, 즉 제조 및 조립 기반 모듈러주택 모델을 제시하였으며, 특징은 다음 세 가지이다. 첫째, 모듈러주택을 서비스 모듈과 기능 모듈로 구분하여 고정성과 변동성을 발전시켜 다양성을 만들도록 계획했다. 둘째, 제품과 같이 이동하여 편리한 위치에 놓고 사용할 수 있도록 계획하여 대지 여건 및 수요에 맞춰 융통성 있는 배치계획을 하는 시스템을 제안 했다. 이러한 계획은 동일한 주택을 대량 생산하여 국내외의 다양한 위치와 사업에 활용할 수 있다. 셋째, 생산효율성을 높일 수 있도록 생산의 자동화를 염두해 두고 건식 공법으로 공정을 단순화하고 최소화하는 방식으로 계획했다. 이러한 DfMA설계방식 적용으로 제작 및 시공기간 단축, 공사비 절감, 주택 품질 제고를 도모하여 건설 생산성을 향상시킬 수 있다.

가변형 공동주택의 단위평면 구성에 따른 가변유형 분석 (An Analysis of Flexible Unit-Type Apartments in terms of Unit Plans)

  • Various residential patterns, which can accommodate ever-changing modem lifestyles, are increasingly needed. On the residents' demand for flexible space, mote research should be conducted on the apartments built by the concept of flexible space. In this study, apartments of 40-60 pyeong in size built in the region of Seoul, between 1998 and 2007, are analyzed in terms of the flexible types and the unit plan composition. To reflect the changes in people's perception of residential quality-preference for a residence with a good view, over for the direction that a residence faces, more rooms are placed on the front bay. From the analyses of this study, flexible unit plans are classified into 6 types; and it was found that, as the size of apartments gets larger, the livingroom and the dinning room tend to be placed on the front bay. After grouping rooms with a similar function into the spatial zones of the master bedroom, children's room, the livingroom, and the dinning room, flexible types are analyzed in terms of the location of rooms. The results of this study will be able to contribute to establishing flexible housing culture that can accommodate the changing needs of residents.

서울시 도시형 생활주택 원룸형 주거의 계획특성 및 개선방안 연구 (A Study on the Design Characteristic and Improvement of the Studio Type Urban Lifestyle Housing in Seoul)

  • A studio type urban lifestyle housing was recently introduced as a new urban multi-housing typology. It was particularly created to meet the increasing housing demand of one-person households due to the population change and the shortage of housing supply. However, some concerns have been raised, because the government's policy has been focused on expanding housing supply by easing certain legal regulations in construction. Poorly planned and managed urban lifestyle housings might degrade living conditions for one-person households and ultimately harm urban environments. As such, this research is conducted to investigate the design characteristics of the studio type urban lifestyle housing from selected construction precedents in Seoul. Critical evaluations are made for the facilities and uses in site plans, unit plans, and shared public spaces. As a result, problem areas are found in the lack of design varieties, privacy protection in units, control of natural environment conditions, and the absence of community spaces. Improvement strategies can be suggested by comparing with some overseas' housing precedents: Design variations can be extended through flexible structure, facility, and furniture systems. Privacy and natural environment can be controled through the integration of interior space configurations and exterior envelope systems. The housing policy needs to be reconsidered to improve a variety in design, residents' social interaction, security, and management. Thereby, the studio type urban lifestyle housing should be holistically approached in terms of design and policy to enrich urban living experiences by residents and communities.

  • It is necessary for us to research and analyze of Open Housing in order to change new housing system, because exiting multi family housing is lack of flexibility and easy remodeling. The purpose of this study is to supply and grasp basic planning and design data for flexibility of Open Housings in Korea. This study is based on the literature survey and actual investigation through visiting 17 open housing sites from 1995 to 2005 in Netherlands, Finland and Japan, which are main Open Housing. We analyzed the planning methods and elements for flexibility of open housing block and unit plan, and described the contents of analyses. We found a lot of planning and design methods-supplying option plan and user participation before occupation, various structural system for openness, common piping shaft location, slab-down and applying access flooring system, movable and demountable partition wall system etc. -applied to the open housings, and findings are applicable to the planning and designing works of apartment housings in Korea.

침실분리 연령기준에 대한 청소년 자녀와 어머니의 의견차이 (Adolescents' and their mother's responses to the age standard not to share bedrooms among family members)

  • The purpose of this study was to find out adolescents' and their mothers' responses to the minimum standard of age suggested by previous research not to share bedroom among parents and child, children of the opposite sex, or children of the same sex. The data from 310 pairs of junior school students and their mothers were analyzed. The results showed that the percentages of agreements to the suggested ages were not the same. Adolescents were in general more likely flexible to the minimum age than were their mothers. The age standard of the opposite sex children over 10 years old must not share a bedroom was the most agreeable both to child and mother. Both mother and adolescents' children were more likely flexible to the rule that parents should not should not share a bedroom with a child over age 5. However, they were serious about sharing a bedroom between same sex children regardless age. Further research should reveal precisely the age standard represent the high agreement among the family members.

  • The purpose of this study is to find the method about the design factors considering the remodeling of apartment housing. Domestic remodeling operations has been developed incessantly. Recently, instead of redevelopment and reconstruction, remodeling operations is being generalization. Therefore by considering the related building code, this study seeks the revisions and try to understand the architectural character of apartment housing and find the design factors throughout the remodeling case of apartment housing. For instance, it is to make use of the flexible partition in unit plan or consider a various house plan etc. So by analyzing these remodeling design factor, we will be able to live the residential environment more extensive than previously.

  • The purpose of this study is to investigate alteration situation and user demand through the case study, to analyze the problems of the user participatory design, and to propose the improvement direction of user participation in the apartment housing. The results of this study are as follows: 1) The method of participatory design using a questionary must be improved with other communication methods between suppliers and users to adapt to the demands of users. 2) The range of menu and the time of participation must be varied to select various materials, colors, types of the interior finish and floor plan freely according to users. 3) Users have the positive attitude about the menu-option method and want to other methods of participatory design like the flexible housing method.
