One of main concerns of operators of the Earth observation satellite is taking images as many as possible under the constraints of satellite resources during fixed period. In order to achieve this goal, satellite operators are strongly required to generate the optimized image collection plans, and it is a very time consuming process to achieve an optimized image collection plan when it is done by manual. This paper suggests automation of image collection planning based on the dynamic programming algorithm to reduce the time required for image collection planning. The validity of the proposed method is tested using operating satellite system and the result is given in this paper.
Ground heat exchanger is the most important part which than 14% of the cost of construction and the performance of Ground heat exchanger is depended on it. Grout is inserted into the hole to the ground fixed and serves to enhance the thermal conductivity. So the research and development is needed. We were using cement grout. The result of the test thermal conductivity is 3.14 W/mK. It is much better than the existing grout is the thermal conductivity. The developed materials was examined by applying the grout in the field.
The ground anchoring has been utilized over 40 years. It is growing the application of the removal ground anchor with tension force for holding earth retaining constructions in the city. It transmits tension stress of prestressed steel wire through grouting to fixed the ground that is of great advantage adjacent ground stability. Nowadays, we can find the compression dispersion anchor on many site. But, it has some problems in behavior of anchors because of impossible to tense p.c strand uniformly under the existing equipment due to different length of p c strand. Hence, motive of this research was to study the application of the newly developed tension system, that analyze and compare with the current anchoring method build on the data of in-site test and laboratory test. As a result, in case of auto back tension system, it became clear that tension pressure was equally distributed among the steal wires but the existing tension system showed sign of instability by indicating stress deflection of about 30% compare with design load. This can cause an ultimate failure of the concentrated p.c strand and a shear failure of ground.

Usually, equations that calculate ground resistance of earth electrode was already informed well by form of earth electrode. But, when apply on the spot because general expressions are very insufficient at point that calculate exact ground resistance value by variation of earth electrode, and constant value that corrective coefficient for ground resistance calculation is fixed regardless of change of the earth resistivity specially is presented, it is actuality that difficulty is. Therefore, in this study, about these problem, proposed corrective coefficient for calculation of ground resistance according to change of the earth resistivity.

In this study, the ground settlement in backside of retaining wall and the behavior of the retaining wall were analyzed according to the method of groundwater drawdown due to excavation by using two-dimensional(2D) finite element analysis. Numerical analysis was performed by applying 1) fixed groundwater level, 2) constant groundwater drawdown, and 3) transient groundwater drawdown. In addition, the behavior of the retaining wall according to the initial groundwater level, ground conditions, and surcharge pressure in backside of retaining wall was evaluated. Based on the numerical analysis results, it was confirmed that when the groundwater level is at 0.1H from the ground surface (H: Excavation soil height), the wall displacement and ground settlement are not affected by the method of groundwater drawdown, regardless of soil conditions (dense or loose) and surcharge pressure. On the other hand, when the groundwater level is at 0.5H from the ground surface, the method of groundwater drawdown was found to have a significant effect on wall displacement and ground settlement. In this case, the difference in ground settlement presents by up to 4 times depending on the method of groundwater drawdown, and the surcharge load could increase the ground settlement by up to 1.5 times.

The ground anchor used in domestic area, which resists by adhesion between anchor body and the ground to the external force, seems not to be adequate for soft ground and urban area where the boundary between structures is close because the ground is disturbed and lost its strength during boring. In order to overcome such a shortcoming an expanded anchor system has been developed. The ground expansion is accomplished by means of Pulse Discharge Technology. In this technology, a high voltage of electricity is stored and discharged in milliseconds which induces high pressure acting on the ground. By making a couple of bulbs, a passive resistance as well as shaft resistance are mobilized, and therefore a higher pullout resistance comparing existing ground anchors is developed. In this study, a couple of full scale tests were conducted in order to figure out how much the resistance of an expanded anchor increases comparing to the straight. As a result, it was found that a remarkable increase in ultimate pullout capacity is observed for the soft ground and as the number of bulb increases. In addtion, as a result of applying to a cut slope reinforcement, it appeared that the length of fixed zone of anchor can be reduced effectively.
Ground vibrations are an integral part of the process of rock blasting. The sudden acceleration of the rock by the detonation gas pressure acting on the drillhole walls induces dynamic stresses in the surrounding rock mass. This sets up a wave motion in the ground much like the motion in a bowl of jelly when disturbed by the action of a spoon. The wave motion spreads concentrically from the blasting site, particularly along the ground surface, and is therefore attenuated, since its fixed energy is spread over a greater and greater mass of material as it moves away from its origin. Some theoretical aspects of the generation and propagation of vibrations produced in rock blasting are analyzed; although it must be indicated that this is just a mere approximation to the problem, as the actual phenomena are much more complex owing to the interaction of different types of waves and their modifying mechanics.
This paper presents dynamic responses of structures with sliding base which limits the translation of external loads from ground excitation. A discrete element model based on the discontinuous deformation analysis method is proposed to study this sliding boundary problem. The sliding base is simulated using sets of fictitious contact springs along the sliding interface. The set of contact spring is to translate friction force from ground to superstructure. Validity of the proposed model is examined by the closed-form solutions of an idealized mass-spring structural model subjected to harmonic ground excitation. This model is also applied to a problem of a three-story structural model subjected to the ground excitation of 1940 El Centro earthquake. Analyses of both sliding-base and fixed-base conditions are performed as comparisons. This study shows that using this model can simulate the dynamic response of a sliding structure with frictional cut-off quite accurately. Results reveal that lowering the frictional coefficient of the sliding joint will reduce the peak responses. The structure responses in little deformation, but it displaces at the end of excitation.
This paper proposes an Extended and Adaptive Inverse Perspective Mapping (EA-IPM) model that can obtain an accurate bird's-eye view (BEV) from the forward-looking monocular camera on the sidewalk with various curves. While Inverse Perspective Mapping (IPM) is a good way to obtain ground information, conventional methods assume a fixed relationship between the camera and the ground. Due to the nature of the driving environment of the mobile robot, there are more walking environments with frequent motion changes than flat roads, which have a fatal effect on IPM results. Therefore, we have developed an extended IPM process to be applicable in IPM on sidewalks by adding a formula for complementary Y-derive processes and roll motions to the existing adaptive IPM model that is robust to pitch motions. To convince the performance of the proposed method, we evaluated our results on both synthetic and real road and sidewalk datasets.
This study is investigated the extent of the noise and ground vibration in an adjacent zone of a cattle pen and an antiquated housing structures for judgement of the spot applicability on the extents of the noise and ground vibration of the rock-splitting method by an oil pressure. It is studied by measuring and analysing in an adjacent position the extents of the noise and ground vibration according to the work process of the rock-splitting method, such as drilling, rock-splitting, arranging rock, loading and by being compared with the permitted level on the noise and ground vibration fixed at the spot. To the results, it is identified that the influence to the noise has to be considered, even if the rock-splitting method is applied as an excavation method to lower a ground vibration by the classification on blasting method of the ministry of land, transport and marine affairs.
