Objectives : The Comparative Study Of The Eight Extra Meridians And The Primitive Meridians Will Improve The Understanding Of The Relationship Between Meridians And The Eight Extra Meridians, Which Ultimately Will illuminate The Origins Of Meridians. Methods Books From The Pre-Han And Han Dynasty, As Well As Publications Concerning Meridians And The Eight Extra Meridians Were Utilized. Results : Pathways Of The Eight Extra Meridians And The Primitive Meridians Travel Independently Without Connection With Other Meridians, And Have No Obvious Link With The Five Vital Organs And The Six Viscera. Additionally, The Terminology Of Both Meridians Is Similar, And Travel From Bottom To Top. Conclusion : The Eight Extra Meridians Have Several Similarities With The Primitive Meridians. Therefore, The Eight Extra Meridians May Be An Important Area To Investigate In The Future.

East Asian traditional medicine(Asian medicine) should be understood correctly on the basis of Asian medical network. For the correct understanding we analyzed Asian medical history which could be divided into three categories based on Dong-Eui-Bo-Gam. There are three mechanisms of human diseases, which are the pathogenesis of six external etiological factors(wind, cold, summer-heat, dampness, dryness and fire) due to affection by exopathogen [外感六氣], the pathogenesis of five viscera due to internal injury [內傷五藏], and the pathogenesis of physical constitution due to vital activity [生命體質]. While Chinese medicine has mainly developed the pathogenesis of the former two, Korean traditional medicine has mainly developed the pathogenesis of physical constitution.

After bibliographic study on function of the brain(腦, nao) on the basis of zangxiang theory(藏象論的), the theory of visceral activities), the following conclusions were obtained: 1. Brain is the organ conglomerated with marrow(隨, sui) between Baihui(百會) and Fengfu(風府) 2. Brain has different function and names according to the parts. 3. Brain is on anatomical view the extraordinary organ(奇恒之府, qiheng zhi fu) and stores clarified air(氣, qi) of fresh air. 4. Brain is the places where the viral essence (精, jeong) of five viscera is activated. 5. Brain is the places where the vital essence congeries into the mind(神, shen) Yang form of the essence. 6. The mind converted from the brain emerges in the whole body the sensory organs and carries vital function. 7. Brain reservoirs the mind, while the heart(心, xm) is thought to make judgement inroyght the speculation on the outward stimulus of matter and give orders to the mind in the chest.

Objectives: In order to improve our understanding of the meridian, it is necessary to analyze how meridian theory formed. In this regard, the primitive form of meridians requires further study. Methods: Data from the pre-Han and Han dynasties were used, as such data document primitive forms of the meridian. Results: 1. Some of the terminology of the primitive meridians did not include symmetrical terms such as hand, foot, yin and yang; instead, terms of travel area were used. 2. In the primitive meridians, most travel from the bottom to the top. 3. The twelve meridian system had not yet been introduced into the primitive system. 4. In the primitive meridians, only a few had branches. 5. In the primitive meridians, they did not have obvious connections with the five vital organs and the six viscera. Conclusions: Although the primitive meridian system differs from the modem, studying the primitive meridians may improve our understanding of the modem meridians.

Theory of visceral and meridian system is the most important part in traditional Korean medicine. In theory of visceral system, the aspect of function has been emphasized more than anatomical substance. In this research, the concept of visceral system would be attempted to be expanded from 'five viscera and six bowels' to whole body, and new analysis system composed of genesis, structure, function and operation. The theories of traditional Korean medicine remain at the organ system or organ level, therefore progressive research using the new analysis system is needed to approach tissue and cell levels.

With the booming complementary medicine as a social trend of well-being, treatment by the sound waves of six kinds of syllables is believed to restore that healthy balance to the body. Sound therapy refers to a range of therapies in which sound is used to treat physical and mental conditions. Healing is done by transmitting beneficial sound to the affected area related to five viscera and six bowels. The healing sound may be produced by a voice. sound wave vibrations are to treat physical and mental conditions. In general, this therapy is based on the theory that all of life vibrates, including people's bodies. When a person's healthy resonant frequency is out of balance, physical and emotional health is affected. When a person's healthy resonant frequency is out of balance, physical and emotional health is affected. This paper focuses on the sound therapy by six syllables of 'hyu', 'huo', 'ho', 'sa', 'chi' and 'hui'.

From ancient times. the diagnosis method of the oriental medicine has been Performed by curing diseases by means of rectifying and adjusting the unbalance in the Physiological function of the five viscera and the six bowels of a human body. Diseases have been diagnosed by the condition of blood circulation that cycles a human body through blood vessels by dint of the vitality of the heart, Based on such a systematic pulse diagnosis method, the article presents parameters that will be beneficial to clinical application on the basis of its analysis of the filtering for eliminating noises from pulse signals inputted from sensor group the digital hardware dealing with signals necessary for recognition algorithm. and the structure of diagnosis algorithm and components of pulse waveform.

Objectives : To research origin of the shape of vital gate(命門) in Yixuerunmen makes us understand more exactly what the author, Li Chan(李梴) thought vital gate shaped. Methods : It's shape described in his book was compared with pictures portraying it in Hua Tuo Xuan Men Nei Zhao Tu(華陀玄門內照圖), one of references of his book. Results : He reasonably modified its passing track, while explaining it according to the paintings in Hua Tuo Xuan Men Nei Zhao Tu. Vital gate, as he thought, was not an real organ like the other five viscera, but a cord or a tube similar to blood vessels. He believed its cord had long connections from pericardium to terminal of urethra, which went through pericardium upward, right kidney downward, right around terminal rectum down-frontward, and urethra in parallel outward. Conclusions : He had consistent understandings for vital gate to penetrate several different viewpoints, as based on pictures in Hua Tuo Xuan Men Nei Zhao Tu.

A difference in a views of the Ong(癰) and juh(疽). In the Ong-juh(癰疽) of the Young-Chu(靈樞), if the Ki(氣) and Hul(血) are blocked in a man's body, the heat(熱) generated consists of Pus(膿). Pus(膿) which goes into the man's body and doesn't deteriorate the five viscera(五臟) is Ong(癰). Juh(疽) is pus(膿) which goes deeply into the man's body does hurt the muscle and bone. Tal-Juh(脫疽) is an ailment in the toe. It is a sort of the gangrene of the extremities. In a literature study oh the Tal- Juh(脫疽), it obtained some opinions, so it is report.

사람으로부터 나오는 신호는 다양하고 그 데이터의 양도 매우 많다. 이러한 신호는 누구에게나 똑같이 발생하는 것이 아니기 때문에 각각의 사람마다 발생하는 신호를 분석하면 그 사람의 건강을 분석할 수 있는 중요한 자료로서 사용되어질 수 있다. 본 시스템은 인체의 손끝은 장부와 연결되어 손끝의 정보를 활용하면 건강을 진단할 수 있다는 한의학적 진단방법을 활용하여 인체 손끝에서 나오는 맥, 온도, 저항을 반사형 포토센서로 측정하여 이를 분석하고 장부의 허실을 판단하여 건강을 진단하는 시스템이다.
