한의학 신(腎) 기능계에 관한 분자생리학적 고찰 (A Review on "Kidney" Functional System in Korean Medicine : From the Perspective of Molecular Physiology)

  • In Korean medicine, the "five viscera" theory develops into the theory of homeostasis, in which the dynamic equilibrium state of the yin yang and five elements in the body maintain the balance of the physiological functions. The "five viscera" of the "five elements" can also be referred to as the "functional system," a conceptual system that includes all functional interactions mediated by the organ as well as the organ itself. Nowadays, the structure and function of the organs and tissues in the body are being re-examined, and there is now enough evidence that organs, structures, and their functions that belong to the same "element" are all connected in terms of energy metabolism. The functional system of the "kidney" includes the kidney itself, as well as other components that belong to "water" of the five elements such as bladder, bone, ear, essence, memory, and fear. The authors will discuss the latest findings in science and medicine to expand the understanding of the "Kidney" functional system to the level of molecular physiology.

오장상관학설여오행학설국한성(五脏相关学说与五行学说局限性) (Limitation of the Five Viscera Correlation Theory and the Five Phase Theory)

  • Five phase theory has significant effect on Traditional Chinese Medicine, which puts its emphasis on correlation and integrity. However, the five phase theory itself has a limitation that it cannot reflect the general correlation and special features of affairs. Traditional Chinese Medicine pertains the five organs to five elements, absorbing the essence of the five phase theory, and transcending the limitation of the five phase theory in practice. Therefore, Traditional Chinese Medicine and other traditional medicine theories can be called as "five viscera correlation theory". On the course of modernization of traditional medicine, the effects among the five viscera can be concluded to 3 correlations of promotion, coordination and inhibition, to illustrate the integrity and correlation theory of traditional medicine from different approaches.

A Versatile Universal Capacitor-Grounded Voltage-Mode Filter Using DVCCs

  • In this paper, a versatile three-input five-output universal capacitor-grounded voltage-mode filter is proposed. The circuit employs two differential voltage current conveyors as active elements together with two grounded capacitors and four resistors as passive elements. The proposed configuration can be used as either a single-input five-output or three-input two-output. Unlike the previously reported works, it can simultaneously realize five different generic filtering signals: lowpass, bandpass, highpass, bandreject, and allpass. It still maintains the following advantages: (i) the employment of all grounded capacitors, (ii) no need to employ inverting-type input signals, (iii) no need to impose component choice, (iv) orthogonal control of the resonance angular frequency ${\omega}_o$ and the quality factor Q, and (v) low active and passive sensitivity performances.

산업도시 대기 중$PM_{10}$의 농도 및 금속원소 성분의 특성 연구 (A Study on the Characteristics of $PM_{10}$ and Air-borne Metallic Elements Produced in the Industrial City)

  • PM10, which is below 10 ${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ in a diameter, has a high deposition in the lung or the bronchus by breathing and is generally composed of a lot of organic matters, viruses, algae, mold, and metallic elements that are very toxic to people. This study identified the characteristics of concentration of PM10 and air-borne jmetallic elements produced in the industrial city, Ulsan, and analyzed the correlatuion between sources and generation patterns of PM10 and metallic elements. We classified the five areas(green, residential, heavy traffic, mechanic, and petrochemcal and non-ferrous metal) which might have different characteristics of sources of PM10 and metallic elements. The average concentrations of PM10 in the five areas were as follows(petrochemical and non-ferrous metal(99.9$\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥)>mechanic(77.5 $\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥)>heavy traffic(47.1 $\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥)>residential(39.3 $\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥)>green(32.8 $\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥)). Those of petrochemical and non-ferrous metal areas were higher than other areas. In this study, the average concentration trend of metallic elements contained in PM10 are shown as follows: Fe>Zn>Pb>Cu>Mn>Cr>As>Cd>Sn>Hg, respectively. The metallic elements identified in PM10 showed the highest concentration in the petrochemical and non-ferrous areas. Metal combinations showed that a high correlation among concentrations of heavy metals were as follows: As, Cd and Fe in the residential area; Zn, Mn, Cu and Pb in the mechanical area; and Zn, Cu, As, Pb in the petrochemical and non-ferrous industrial area.

Analysis of Visual Art Elements of Game Characters Illustrated by the Case of Glory of Kings

  • Visual art elements can most intuitively express the information expressed by a game character and play an important role in shaping a successful game character. We compares and analyzes the role design in the skins of the "Five Tiger-like Generals" series in Glory of Kings in terms of color, line, graphic and other visual elements. Different visual elements form different visual impacts and influences, which brings people different psychological feelings and presents different emotional colors. The reasonable use of visual elements gives people a refined visual experience and a comfortable psychological feeling, adding more influencing factors to the "immersion" of the game. It not only can strongly attract the attention and love of players, but also spreads traditional culture of the nation and the country. Therefore, whether the visual art elements of a game character can be appropriately used is an important part of the success of the game work. The analysis of visual art elements of game characters has important learning and research value.

  • In $\ulcorner$Yingshu(靈樞)$\lrcorner$, $\ulcorner$Sumun(素問)$\lrcorner$ and $\ulcorner$Najing(難經)$\lrcorner$, there are differences in viewing FiveSu-point(五輸穴) and its practical application in treatment. The following conclusions are induced from these different point of views. 1. Fundamental features of FiveSu-point are shown in$\ulcorner$Yingshu(靈樞)$\lrcorner$ 2. In $\ulcorner$Internal classic(內經)$\lrcorner$ and $\ulcorner$Najing(難經)$\lrcorner$, it seems attachment that FiveSu-point is identical to the Five Elements, but there are differences in using the Five Elements sangsyang-sangguk in treatment. 3. There are clear differences between $\ulcorner$Internal classic(內經)$\lrcorner$ and $\ulcorner$Najing(難經)$\lrcorner$ in attachment of FiveSu-point and Fourseasons. Differences are shown in each chapter of $\ulcorner$Yingshu(靈樞)$\lrcorner$. 4. Different application of FiveSu-point's various cases is shown in $\ulcorner$Yingshu(靈樞)$\lrcorner$, $\ulcorner$Sumun(素問)$\lrcorner$ and $\ulcorner$Najing(難經)$\lrcorner$. 5. Different application of FiveSu-point in $\ulcorner$Yingshu(靈樞)$\lrcorner$, $\ulcorner$Sumun(素問)$\lrcorner$ and $\ulcorner$Najing(難經)$\lrcorner$ is due to different historical background.

제주밭담의 경관보전직불제 도입을 위한 경관자원(제주밭담) 평가시스템 구축과 적용 (Development of Landscape Resource Assesment Systems of Jeju Island's Stonewall Fencing Farming Land for the Introduction of Direct Payment System of the Landscape Preservation and its Application)

  • The purpose of this study is to develop the landscape resource assessment system(LRAS) to help evaluate the value of landscape resources(Jeju Island's Stonewall fencing farming land) for the introduction of direct payment system of the landscape preservation objectively and to applicate the model in the fields. Delphi survey on Jeju's stonewall experts shows that the order of priority among value evaluation elements on Jeju's stonewall is its harmony with surroundings(34%), the preservation of its original state(34%) and its density and scale(32%). Evaluation system development of landscape resources(Jeju's stonewall fencing filming land) and field observation survey utilizing it consists of the following five steps. Step 1 includes the first Delphi survey on Jeju's stonewall experts to decide its value evaluation elements and their priority. Step 2 is the second Delphi survey on Jeju's stonewall experts to grade pictures of landscape resources(Jeju's stonewall fencing farming land) on the basis of expert-proposed value evaluation standards. Step 3 consists of analysis work using the result of Delphi survey on experts. Step 4 is to select five grade standard pictures according to each of three grading elements of A, B, C belonging to each of the three standards. Then, it is necessary to make panels including five A-grade pictures, five B-grade pictures and five C-grade pictures according to each of the three elements of density, harmony, and original state preservation. Step 5 consists of field observation survey. According to the result of few experts' value evaluation of stonewall fencing farming land with the aid of NRAS developed in this research, the area of Pyeongdae-ri is ranked first, and then the area of Bukcheon-ri, Chocheon-up, the area of Gwakgi-ri, Ewol-up, the area of Shinum-ri, Ewol-up and the area of Yongsu-ri, hankyung-Myun are ranked in the order named. When those areas are graded, A Grade Areas includes the areas of Pyeongdae-ri, the area of Bukcheon-ri, the area of Gwakgi-ri, B Grade Areas consist of the area of Shinum-ri and the area of Yongsu-ri, and the areas of Onpyeong, wimi and youngrak belong to C Grade Area.

  • 1979년 처음 방영되어 오늘날까지 많은 인기를 끌고 있는 원제 기동전사 건담은 기존의 2분법적 대결성을 가진 타 로봇 애니메이션과 다른 차별성을 가진 애니메이션 컨텐츠이다. 건담을 제작한 토미노 요시유키(富野由悠季) 감독의 말에 의하면 드라마적 요소를 가미한 작품으로 거짓말 투성이 리얼리티(噓八百リアリティ-)라는 함축적인 말로 설명되는 컨텐츠이다. 건담이라는 컨텐츠는 일본 자국의 애니메이션을 넘어 전 세계로 나아가 다양한 산업으로 확대 발전되고 있으며, 더 나아가 건담 문화라고 까지 불리기도 한다. 문화라는 학문적 관점에서 문화를 구성하는 다섯 가지 요소(기술, 가치, 사회관계, 언어, 물질)를 중심으로 건담이라는 컨텐츠를 분석하였으며, 그 결과 문화를 구성하는 다섯 가지 각각의 요소들에 상충하는 충분한 내용과 가치가 있는 것으로 사료되어진다.

한글 글꼴과 감성 표현어 사이의 수량적 상호관계에 관한 연구 (A study of quantitative correlation between hangul font and the emotional expressions)

  • This study aims to suggest basic materials to develop an emotional font for future Hangeul font development plan by investigating emotional reaction displayed through the subjects and by quantifying its contribution of the stimulation elements causing such reaction. For this, a survey of 150 university students who are currently enrolled in the College of Design was conducted in order to analyze correlation between 30 emotional words extracted from the Hangeul font and the selected 36 sample fonts. The combined data was described with the two dimensional dispersion using the quantification theory type III. The analysis found out that the Hangeul font forms the x-axis showing "soft(dynamic).hard(static)" and the y-axis showing "modern(light).classic(heavy)”. Specifically, there exist emotional groups such as "archaic","masculine","feminine","negative", and "modern static"on each axis. In addition, to extract the casual relationship between the value of emotional reaction and its stimulation elements quantitatively, the author indicated the emotional words of each axis and the total value of equivalent five emotional word groups as the standard variance and the constituent of Hangeul font as the independent variable, and then the quantification theory type I was used to analyze the physical elements of the Hangeul font. As a result, "the centerline of gravity(base line)" and "thickness variance of a stroke" on the two axes, and "the centerline of gravity(base line)" and "decoration" among the five groups were identified as the most influential elements that affect the emotional reaction of the subjects.

Identification and Phylogenetic Analysis of the Human Endogenous Retrovirus HERV-W LTR Family in Placenta cDNA Library

  • Human endoqenous retroviral long terminal repeats (LTRs) have been found to be coexpressed with sequences of genes closely located nearby. It has been suggested that the LTR elements have contributed to structural changes or genetic variations of human genome connected to various diseases and evolution. Using cDNA library derived from placenta tissue, we performed PCR amplification and identified five new HERV-W LTR elements. Those LTR elements showed a high degree of sequence similarity (98-99%) with HERV-W LTR (AF072500). A phylogenetic tree obtained by the neighbor-joining method revealed that HERV-W LTR elements could be mainly divided into two groups through evolutionary divergence. Five new HERV-W LTR elements (pla-1, 4, 5, 6, 7) belonged to the group I with AX000960, AF072504, and AF072506 from GenBank database. The data suggest that several copy numbers of the HERV-W LTR elements are transcribed in placenta and may contribute to the understanding of biological function such as human placental morphogenesis.
