Purpose: In this study, we will try to find out problems and improvements of the policies in order to verify whether the plans contribute to the health and welfare of the firefighters properly. Method: By the Delphi analysis by experts. Result: There are problems such as absence of Firefighters' hospital, insufficient mental health education program in fire department, lack of on-site risk assessment system, problem on ineffectiveness of mental and physical health care business, lack of substantiality on mental and physical stability program, absence of mental health education, ensuring the confidentiality for users of mental health programs, lack of support for parent firefighters, lack of firefighters' retirement design and insufficient treatment for female firefighters. Conclusion: There are Improvements such as establishing Firefighters' hospital, improving mental health education and training CISD leaders in the fire department, preparing disaster risk assessment system, effectiveness measurement for visiting psychological counseling projects, improving the program through customer satisfaction surveys, establishment of mental health education system, ensuring confidentiality by improving personnel systems, encourage childcare leave and introduce childcare facilities at fire stations, revitalizing retirement Firefighters and policy development for female firefighters.

This study aimed to provide help to seeking a preventive method of intervention in firefighter's depression by investigating empowerment and family function level of firefighter's on their depression. For this, the study conducted purposive sampling survey among 351 firefighters at Gyeonggi area. As a result of the research, all of empowerment and family function had a significant effect on depression of firefighters. Based on these findings, the study demonstrated the potential for applying each individual's empowerment as an internal resource for their prevention of mental health. The study suggested that diverse counter measures are needed to boost family bond and family functionality of firefighters, and also proposed positive adoption and assistance for preventive and effective implementation of 'work and life balance' policy to derive the recovery of healthiness of families.

This study aimed to investigate the effect of firefighters' social capital on subjective happiness. This research was conducted from Jun 12 to Aug 25, 2017, and a descriptive analysis, t-test, hierarchical regression analysis was carried out based on the results of a survey with 351 firefighters in Gyeonggi-do to verify the research hypothesis. As a result, it was revealed that network(${\beta}=.315$, p<.001), trust(${\beta}=.293$, p<.01), cooperation(${\beta}=.225$, p<.01) and trust among other sub-variables of firefighters' social capital had significant effects on subjective happiness. Based on the results, this research suggested that various measures to strengthen social capital would be required in order to improve fire-fighters' happiness: efforts to increase trust within the organization, political support for vitalizing formal network as a communication channel among firefighters organizations, encouraging interest in the community and promoting informal network such as volunteer work, developing transparency in operating the organizational policy and system, etc.

2012년 8월 "소방공무원 보건안전 및 복지 기본법"의 시행으로 소방공무원에 대한 보건안전과 복지에 대한 기본적 법규가 마련되어 현재까지 시행되어오고 있다. 이 법에 근거하여 소방청장은 5년마다 소방공무원 보건안전 및 복지기본계획을, 그리고 매년 연도별 계획을 수립하여 시행하고 있다. 본 연구는 이러한 정책들이 실질적으로 소방공무원의 보건과 복지에 기여하는지 여부를 실증검증하기 위해 현황분석과 더불어 해당분야 전문가들로부터의 델파이분석기법에 의해 현재 계획에 근거한 정책들의 문제점과 개선방안을 도출하고자 한다.

Purpose: The 2018 General survey of emergency assistance was conducted to examine the working conditions and welfare, including educational direction, interests, and awareness of work, of the fire department emergency medical technicians (EMT). This would be used as basic data for future policy directions. Methods: Among the fire-fighting officers in 16 cities nationwide, emergency rescue workers engaged in first-aid activities were targeted. With prior consent, a survey was conducted through electronic documents. Of the total 1,227 people, responses from 1,151 were finally analyzed, excluding 76 who did not respond appropriately. Results: The working conditions and welfare of 119 firefighters were moderate, but in the fields of education and interest, the learning according to the regulations was high. In particular, satisfaction with the scope of work was found to be below average. However, it was positive that it will play a role as a social safety net in the future and will converge with cutting-edge science. Conclusion: Although this study was a total investigation of the EMT survey, conducting an EMT survey on all fire fighters in Korea is difficult. Further research is needed, particularly on first-class emergency medical personnel who play a major role in 119 paramedics.

This study aimed to provide help to seeking a preventive method of intervention in firefighter's job satisfaction by investigating the role of perceived organizational support in the relationship between firefighter's work-life balance and job satisfaction. For the foregoing, this study investigated by conducting purposeful sampling targeting 115 firefighters in Gyeonggi-do. Study results show that firefighter's work-life balance has a significant influence on job satisfaction, perceived organizational support turned out to have a significant moderating effect between work-life balance and job satisfaction. As a Wellness Convergence, based on the results, this study showed a possibility for application of perceived organizational support as a firefighter's internal coping resource, suggesting positive introduction of preventive and effective 'policy for work-life balance' and support to derive job satisfaction.
