  • This study analyzed and identified various causes of caustic alarms of 163 fire detectors that occurred from January 2019 to December 2021 at domestic semiconductor manufacturing plants equipped with about 30,000 fire detectors, and proposed a new non-fire prevention cause investigation plan by applying the NFPA 921 scientific methodology. The results of the study are as follows. First, in terms of necessary recognition and problem definition, an analog detector and an integrated monitoring system were proposed to quickly determine the location and installation space information of the fire detector. Second, in order to prevent speculative causes and errors in various analyses in terms of data analysis and hypothesis establishment, non-fire reports were classified into five by factor and defined, and the causes of occurrence by factor were classified and proposed. Finally, in terms of hypothesis verification and final hypothesis selection, a non-fire prevention improvement termination process and a final hypothesis verification sheet were proposed to prevent the cause from causing re-error.

  • This research analyzes clean room major fire prevention standard of clean Room (FM, IRI, and NFPA Code), the structure of Performance-Based Fire Safety Design (PBD) applied the korean fire industry situation. Performance-Based Fire Safety can operate effectively the performance of fire protection equipment & building design, so the fitness of fire safety system can be embodied by operating this. moreover, cost to be consume fire safety of real building can reduce and Performance-Based Fire Safety is considered to important technique in fire protection field. A fire in a clean room may cause a serious loss by spreading smoke particles. We will be investigated by using a computational fluid dynamics, for loss prevention by smoke spreading from one fire area to another for clean room and compared the Performance-Based Fire Safety Design with the prescriptive code design. The methodology of fire safety performance-based fire safety design and guarantee of many kinds design skill of fire system and developing design procedure will be very serious one in order to improve efficiency of domestic system. Therefore, This research will be contributing to secure safety of clean room and to set up the performance-based fire safety design in Korea by regulation for the performance-based fire safety design effectively.

  • This research aims to examine the cause-and-effect relationship between Organizational Justice and Organizational Commitment within ICT corporates for fire prevention, through Leader-Member Exchange(LMX) and Organizational Support. A survey was conducted to corporate employees from staff members to executives. A total of 316 responses were collected during two weeks from May 1st to 17th, 2019, and were analyzed in this research. The result of the theory on ICT fire prevention was as follows: First, Distributive Justice has significant influence on Organizational Support, while it does not on LMX. Second, Procedural Justice has significant influence on both Organizational Support and LMX. Third, while Interactional Justice does not have significant influence on Organizational Support, LMX showed significant influence. Fourth, Organizational Support has significant influence on Organizational Commitment. Fifth, LMX has significant influence on Organizational Commitment. This research is academically significant in that it applied the Justice Theory on ICT corporates for fire prevention from staff members to executives. It is considered so, since existing researches mainly address on the status of technologies and policies on how to link fire prevention and ICT, and not on fair compensation based on Organization Justice theory. Practical significance can be found in its suggestions to improving organizational culture from top-down to bottom-up, thus creating free and engaging atmosphere at work. It is therefore needed to conduct further researches that categorize executives by their traits, and examine factors influencing on organizational commitment within ICT corporates for fire prevention.

  • The building infrastructures such as high-rise buildings, shopping malls, exhibition centers, etc. are becoming larger in magnitude and more complex in complexity. Considering a large number of tenants and visitors are staying in these facilities, it is upper most important to keep those in safe from fire outbreak. In this paper, a u-Disaster Prevention System has been presented to provide effective fire evacuation when fire breaks out in building infrastructures. The ubiquitous sensor network (USN) technology was applied to detect heat and smoke from fire outbreak. The information then is transmitted wirelessly to a host computer. The tenants and visitors residing in the facility can evacuate following the instruction that is displayed in LED sign boards of the u-Disaster Prevention System. A case study shows that the ubiquitous environment can help people evacuate faster in time, shorter in distance with the assistance of the u-Disaster Prevention System.

  • The purpose of this study was to verify the relationship between fire fighter's musculoskeletal disorder related observable symptom and their absence from disease and accident. Online questionnaire was distributed with a total of 7,673 fire fighters, and statistical analysis was conducted to the collected data. The result shows that on a one year basis, patients with musculoskeletal disorder related observable symptom felt symptom in sequence of back, shoulder, neck, knee. The result verified that 12.9% of absence of disease and 5.9% of absence of accident experienced these symptoms. Both absence from disease and absence from accident showed body part symptoms related to neck and shoulder. This study ascertained the relationship between fire fighters' absence and their musculoskeletal disorder related observable symptom. The author hopes this study to be used as a basis of precautionary program for absence management.

  • In recent years, the surroundings of Fire have rapidly changed and citizens need for Fire have been demanding very high. Under these situations, in order for satisfaction to all these demands, Seoul Metropolitan Government Fire Academy(SFA) have only to improve its educational training program as the fire educational training center in Korea. The purpose of this study is to scrutinize current educational training program of SFA and measure the relative weight among the hierarchy of disaster management(prevention and mitigation-prepare dness-response-recovery) by using the Analytic Hierarchy Process(AHP). The result of this study presents that how many hours must be allocated and set the educational training program with scientific and systematic way of AHP compared the current program of SFA in 2013. And This study is applied to increase access and comprehension about the AHP and will be able to present guideline for the selection of optimal the educational training of SFA to serve Seoul citizens the best Fire services.
