The purposes of this study are to investigate the material characteristics and strength properties of concrete mixed with waste incinerated bottom ash(BA), and to evaluate the leaching of environmentally harmful heavy metals from the bottom ash itself and from hardened concrete mixed with bottom ash. For this purpose, two reference mixes with W/C ratios of 0.45 and 0.55 were used, and the replacement proportion of BA was varied with the ratios of 0%, 30%, 50%, 70%, and 100% by volume of fine aggregate in the reference mixes. The variation of compressive and splitting tensile strength, workability and unit weight of concrete were considered. Test results showed that the strengths, workability and unit weight decreased with increase in proportion of BA replaced. Leaching test results showed that there would be no environmentally harmful problem from using BA as the substitutes of fine aggregates in concrete.

As the deposits of natural sands have slowly been depleted, it has resulted in an increase in manufactured fine aggregate (MFA). Standard specifications for fine aggregate for concrete contained in KS F 2558 permit a maximum of 7 percent finer than the No. 200 sieve (75${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$). Since the production process for MFA normally generates 10 to 20 percent of micro fines-which is defined as aggregates passing the No. 200 sieve (75${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$)-more than permitted by specifications, Excess fines must be removed by screening and/or washing operations. The amount of by-products will continue to grow as production increases with environmental discharge restrictions. This fundamental study focuses on experimental research for the adequacy of use of micro fines included in crushed aggregate using methylene blue test. Total of 63 types of sands from seven different rocks were tested. Based on the test results, the methylene blue test was turned out to be a good indicator of the quality of micro fines for concrete and a supplementary article and an amendment of the KS standard were recommended.

This study is performed to examine the physical and mechanical properties of recycled polymer concrete using recycled coarse aggregate and recycled fine aggregate. Tests for compressive strength, flexural strength and pulse velocity with replacement ratio of recycled coarse aggregate and recycled fine aggregate are performed. As a result, compressive strength, flexural strength and pulse velocity of polymer concrete containing recycled coarse aggregate are in the range of $826{\sim}849kgf/cm^2,\;192{\sim}200kgf/cm^2\;and\;3,932{\sim}4,000m/s$, respectively. Compressive strength, flexural strength and pulse velocity of polymer concrete containing crushed stone only are $805kgf/cm^2,\;197kgf/cm^2$ and 3,931 m/s, respectively. Accordingly, recycled aggregates is expected that can be utilizing as an aggregate of polymer concrete.

In this study, industrial by-products including blast furnace slag, incineration ash and waste gypsum were used with recycled fine aggregates to manufacture the zero-cement mortar. The replacement ratio of anhydrite gypsum was fixed as 0, 10%, 20% the replacement ratio fo WA1 was fixed as 0.5% and 1.0%, respectively. It could be identified that when the replacement of gypsum was 20% and WA1 of 1.0%, the strength could be in the range of normal strength.

In this study, the fundamental properties of cement mortar in relation to the change of the replacement ratio of the RA(Reject-Ash) were analyzed by mixing RA to the mixed aggregate consisting of poorly graded fine rock aggregate and marine aggregate for quality improvement. It was found that replacing 5% of the mixed aggregate with RA could improve the quality of the aggregate to the degree of fine rock aggregates.

With an increased use of alternative aggregate due to exhaustion of quality aggregate resources, the amount of used crushed aggregates have been increased and as a result, development of admixture materials has also been improved and its amount of use is increasing from day to day in order to secure quality in concrete. Accordingly, the purpose of this study is to make concrete of good quality by using chemical admixture developed in this study by replacement rate of fine aggregate. At first, susceptibility, compressive strength ratio and length change ratio in both fresh and hardened concrete were evaluated according to corresponding regulation. As for high performance related regulation, APC NO.3 and PC series were going to rule, and as for AE agent regulation, replacement ratio of fine aggregate of high performance chemical admixture was 10:0 and other chemical admixture met quality regulation for AE agent.
Ammonia gas was blown into the solution of zirconium ion to induce precipitation of supersaturated zirconium ion at gas-liquid interface with increase in pH. The influence of pH on the phase and particle size of precipitate and calcined powders has been investigated. At pH 4.5 of zirconium solution, maximum yield of 98.7% was obtained. Above pH 4.5, there was no more increase of yield. Above pH 5.5, large aggregates consisting of primary particles were observed in precipitate and calcined powders. At pH 4.5, almost aggregate-free fine spherical zirconia powders were obtained.

This study aims to achieve an enhancement in the quality of high strength concrete through a reduction in autogenous shrinkage by supplying the moisture needed for hydration through recycled aggregates that retain high amounts of moisture. The result showed that, moisture supply increased with the higher replacement rate, autogenous shrinkage dropped by up to 60 percent. Also, compressive strength was increased by up to 10 percent.

The purpose of this study was to provide basic data for applying oyster shells and egg shells as fireproof cladding materials by substituting fine aggregates for oyster shell powder and egg shell powder, and comparing strength and fire resistance performance. The reason for the high strength was thought to be that the oyster shell had higher strength than the egg shell itself, and both ESP and OSP were measured at a backside temperature of less than 500℃, so it was judged that it could be used as a fireproof coating for steel structures.
