In order to reduce the dependency on fossil fuels, a policy to increase the production capacity of wind turbine is set up. This can be achieved with increasing the dimensions of offshore wind turbine blades. However, this increase in size implies serious problems of stability and durability. Considering the cost of large turbines and financial consequences of their premature failure, it is imperative to carry out numerical simulations over long periods. Here, an energy-conserving time-stepping scheme is proposed in order to ensure the satisfying computation of long-term response. The proposed scheme is implemented for three-dimensional solid based on Biot strain measures, which is used for modeling flexible blades. The simulations are performed at full spatial scale. For reliable design process, the wind loads should be represented as realistically as possible, including the fluid-structure interaction (FSI) dynamic effects on wind turbine blades. However, full-scale 3D FSI simulations for long-term wind loading remain of prohibitive computation cost. Thus, the model to quantify the wind loads proposed here is a simple, but not too simple to be representative for preliminary design studies.

This paper investigates how the agent specificity of economic infrastructure-related public company proceeds in overseas investments. At first this paper examines general features focused on investment region, project type, starting year, and then analyzes overseas investments based on specific cases with three classifications which are composed of special consulting type that do not accompany capital investment, FDI type, and type of overseas energy resources development that go with capital investment and business risk. Finally nationality issues that is generated by agent characteristics of infrastructure public company are interpreted in perspective of duality which is financial pressure and dependency of host county's position, and relationship with private capital of home country.
The objectives of this research are (i) to review the functional and financial distribution of public health adminstration between central and local governments, (ii) to find out, based on economic criteria, optimal distribution required to fullfil local need for public health, and finally, (iii) to suggest policy implications in health area in face of the newly arising local autonomy system in Korea. Judging from data on government expenditures and tax revenues, public health administration in Korea is highly concentrated into central government, both functionlally and financially. High dependency of public health on central government has often been critisized that local residents can not participate in the decision making process for local health problems. This study, however, shows that localization of public health administration does not necessarily result in efficient and equitable allocation of resource to satisfy local demand for public health. From this point of view, two eccnomic criteria are suggested, i.e. external effect and economies of scle, as distributive criteria of roles in public health administration between local and central government. In addition, superiority of central concentration of public health administration to localization is emphasized in that public health in a wide sense contains the nature of public good and is part of compulsory socil security system. As a consequence, planned intervention by government is desirable.
Purpose - It seems common sense that corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a key driver of business sustainability. Nevertheless, there has been little research on the performance of socially responsible activities, including economic and environmentally responsibility activities, in internationally diversified firms. Design/methodology - The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of CSR activities on management performance. For this evaluation, an empirical analysis was conducted with total of 2,520 cases, selected from companies listed on the Korea Composite Stock Price Index market for six years from 2013 to 2018. As proxies for management performance, financial data such as a total asset net profit ratio and a total asset operating ratio were used. A multivariate regression analysis was conducted to test hypotheses. Findings - The results of this analysis indicated that firms in the CSR outstanding group were ranked significantly higher than other groups in management performance. In addition, CSR activities of internationally diversified firms positively influenced the total asset net profit ratio and total asset operating ratio. Originality/value - The results suggest that the CSR activities of these firms can play a significant role in enhancing management performance in the economic status of Korea, where the degree of export dependency is high.

Attempts to predict future stock prices have been studied steadily since the past. However, unlike general time-series data, financial time-series data has various obstacles to making predictions such as non-stationarity, long-term dependence, and non-linearity. In addition, variables of a wide range of data have limitations in the selection by humans, and the model should be able to automatically extract variables well. In this paper, we propose a 'sliding time step normalization' method that can normalize non-stationary data and LSTM autoencoder to compress variables from all variables. and 'moving transfer learning', which divides periods and performs transfer learning. In addition, the experiment shows that the performance is superior when using as many variables as possible through the neural network rather than using only 100 major financial variables and by using 'sliding time step normalization' to normalize the non-stationarity of data in all sections, it is shown to be effective in improving performance. 'moving transfer learning' shows that it is effective in improving the performance in long test intervals by evaluating the performance of the model and performing transfer learning in the test interval for each step.
This study investigates what decisions have an impact on bank performance. A panel regression analysis was conducted using data from the financial statements of banks located in the United States from 2013 to 2022, and the effects of explanatory variables were examined through hierarchical panel regression analysis divided into financial decision-making and management decision-making. In addition, by analyzing performance separately from the creditor and shareholder perspectives (hereinafter referred to as overall) and from the shareholder perspective alone, it suggests which elements should be utilized and how to improve performance from each perspective. When a panel regression analysis was performed using only liquidity and stability, dependency on deposits and the interest coverage ratio had a statistically significant impact from the perspective of overall performance, and the debt ratio also had a statistically significant impact from the perspective of shareholder performance. When adding non-technical factors, only the labor cost ratio among non-technical factors was found to be statistically significant from the overall performance perspective, and although the non-technical factors were not statistically significant from the shareholder performance perspective, the cash ratio was found to have a statistically significant impact. Lastly, when adding technical innovation elements, the intangible asset ratio was not statistically significant from the overall performance perspective, but was significant from the shareholder performance perspective. The significance and implications of this study are that there are differences in factors that can affect the performance of overall or shareholder and that various decision-making factors can affect a bank's performance.
This study was carried out to provide the essential information in improving the graduate medical education in Korea. For the study, a survey targeting the directors of GME of nationwide teaching hospitals was performed with a questionnaire asking the questions such as the director's perception on the quality of GME, trainees' salary level, trainees' specialty selection tendency, training system and its duration. The collected data were analyzed using t-test, ANOVA, and $x^2$-test. The results were as follows: 1. The survey were executed on 240 teaching hospitals in Korea and the response rate was 66.2% (159 hospitals replied). 2. The bigger a hospitals is the better in Quality of education. Larger hospitals tend to have better status in all items including medical specialists' experience, contents of medical curriculum, general environment for medical education and medical trainees's salary level. The result supported the general perception on the positive relationship between hospital size and Quality of GMA. 3. Providing convenience for medical trainees who prepares for the medical specialist Qualifying examination didn't affect the results of the examination. 4. The directions of GME have a perception that the trainees give positive impact on financial performance of their hospitals. This seems to be one of the reasons that hospitals try to retain as many trainees as possible. 5. The directors of GME considered medical trainees as an educate, and most of them responded positively on the need of governmental supports for the education cost and the trainee's salary. Considering above results, it seems that GME would get more social attention and the trainees' impact on hospitals operation would be increased more than before. In response to these trends, hospitals would find out the ways to lower dependency on trainees, and this change of attitude of hospitals on the GME would cause problems in operation of hospitals and GME itself. In order to prevent these problems the policy on GME should be directed in following ways. 1. The contents of Qualifying examination for specialist should be improved. 2. The curriculum of GME should be strictly followed. 3. The status of trainee in a hospital has to be defined as eductee. 4. Government has to support a half of the education cost and salary of trainee. 5. The distribution of the trainee among the hospital group have to be based on total available. 6. The financial support and welfare of trainee should be improved gradually and systematically.
The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of the organizational characteristics and interorganizational network level on social welfare organizationas' effectiveness using structural equation model. For achieving this purpose, this study defined organizational effectiveness as financial, human and physical resource capability according to resource systems approach. Organizational characteristics variables included the number of qualified staff, degree of resource dependency, the proportion of government subsidies, the main organizational philosophy, establishment year, the attitude of top manager and the number of informal ties. Interorganizational network variables were divided by outdegree centrality and indegree centrality. The data collected from women's welfare organizations in Seoul through survey method. The analysis tools used the UCINET 6.245 for the network analysis and AMOS 18.0 for the structural equation model. The results of this study are as follows. The factors affected on the financial resource capacity were the number of qualified staff, the proportion of government subsides and the indegree centrality. Meanwhile, only indegree centrality directly influenced on the human resource capability. The significant affecting factors on physical resource capacity were the number of qualified staff, the attitude of top manager and informal ties. Based on these results, the implications of this study and the ways to enhance social welfare organization's effectiveness were discussed.
This paper first extracts the main basis for the Middle-Income Trap(MIT) to apply these grounds to reality of the Chinese economy. And then confirmed crisis factors of China economy. Also discussed then the economic reforms of China in order to not fall into the MIT. After reviewing previous research extracted six factors the results will correspond to comply with the Chinese economy. Those are 'Over-investment', 'excess capacity' 'reduction of TFP continued,' 'disappearance and the aging of the population bonus', 'excessive debt and structural adjustment and financial instability of the company', 'income unequal expansion', 'low financial and information infrastructure accessibility', and 'low transparency index'. China's policy direction to avoid the MIT generally set properly, but proof that implementation process not easy, was appearing everywhere. After all, China economy should be modified now to a reforms of 'government failure' and promotion of function for ongoing restructuring system in the market. Because of the SDR incorporation from 2015, it is inevitable to face major constraints in the external aspects.
This study was conducted to provide the data for the improvement of home health nursing services through the investigation of burden and satisfaction felt by family caregivers under home health nursing care. The study subjects consisted of 200 family caregivers who were enrolled m six university hospital home care services. Data were collected by using constructed questionnaires through mail from March to April of 1999. and analyzed by using t-test. ANOVA, Duncan-test. and Pearson Correlation Coefficients. The results were as follows: 1. The mean score of burden was 2.24. Among the SIX burden dimensions. the highest score was marked in time-dependence dimension. Caregivers were found to have greater burden in the low income families living in flats. In relation to the characteristics of patients. higher scores were shown in the male patients with cerebrospinal diseases. who also revealed higher score of dependency in the Activities of Daily Living. As a whole. there was no significant difference between home nursing care and clinical nursing care in terms of family caregivers' burden. The burden of time-dependence dimension in home nursing care was significantly higher than that of clinical nursing care while the burdens of physical. social. and financial dimensions were significantly lower than those of the clinical nursing care. 2. The mean score of satisfaction was 3.14. Among the six items. the highest score was marked in the nursing care and treatment skill. while the lowest score was marked in the cost containment. Family caregivers with higher academic background and higher income showed higher satisfaction score. The mean score of home care nursmg was significantly higher than that of clinical nursing care.
