  • The stored elastic strain energy due to the thermal expansion mismatch between the thermally oxidized crystalline layer (cristobalite) and CVD Si3N4($\alpha$-Si3N4) on cooling form high oxidation temperature (1000-140$0^{\circ}C$) to room temperature, releases through the crazing of film and lifting at the SiO2/Si3N4 interface. The ratial equation (1/n) which corresponds to the ratio of the relaxation of the stored elastic stain energy due to crazing of film to the total energy, is derived under the assumption of the square crazed pattern, as follow. 1/n={8${\gamma}$(1-v)2}/(ΔL2dE) The ratial equation suggests the reason for the lifting at the SiO2/Si3N4 interface which was observed in this research.

  • Evaluating the impurity concentrations in semiconductor thin films using time of flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (ToF-SIMS) is an effective technique. The mass interference between isotopes and matrix element in data interpretation makes the process complex. In this study, we have investigated the doping concentration of phosphorus in, phosphorus doped silicon thin film on glass using ToF-SIMS in the dynamic mode of operation. To overcome the mass interference between phosphorus and silicon isotopes, the quantitative analysis of counts to concentration conversion was done following two routes, standard relative sensitivity factor (RSF) and SIMetric software estimation. Phosphorus doped silicon thin film of 180 nm was grown on glass substrate using hot wire chemical vapor deposition technique for possible applications in optoelectronic devices. Using ToF-SIMS, the phosphorus-31 isotopes were detected in the range of 101~104 counts. The silicon isotopes matrix element was measured from p-type silicon wafer from a separate measurement to avoid mass interference. For the both procedures, the phosphorus concentration versus depth profiles were plotted which agree with a percent difference of about 3% at 100 nm depth. The concentration of phosphorus in silicon was determined in the range of 1019~1021 atoms/cm3. The technique will be useful for estimating distributions of various dopants in the silicon thin film grown on glass using ToF-SIMS overcoming the mass interference between isotopes.

  • This study is an analysis of endings of films and open endings. Particularly, the key of this study is the investigation of the definition and interpretation of open endings. For this purpose, the 'ending' was defined first, and subsequently, endings were divided into 'closed' and 'open' endings with a goal pursuit model of David Howard and Robert McKee. Thus, it was found in this study that the thoughts of an audience as well as the intention of a creator are crucial in defining an ending. Although a story is designed by a creator, its interpretation is at the disposal of an audience in the end, and the audience may take an ending differently depending on their value system or interest in the story, which eventually leads to their own definition of the ending. For sure, a traditional fact is that most of films including those mentioned to have open endings have closed endings, and such a structure of stories will not change significantly in the future. However, the ending of a film designed to have a closed ending may be changed to be open ended depending on the intention of a creator or the thoughts of an audience, and furthermore, the intention of an open ending may not be readily accepted by an audience.

  • An experimental study is carried out to investigate the characteristics of heat transfer of outside helical tubes. The main heat exchanger consists of twelve curved columns with each 300mm diameter and the total length of 1.2m copper tube having an outer diameter of 19.05mm with 1.5mm thickness. Water flows down the outside of helical tube, where flow patterns are the vertical film falling flow, immerged flow, and mixed-flow which is the combination of film falling flow and immerged flow. Refrigerant 11 flow the inside of the tube countercurrently. The experimental range of inside flow rate is 1.7~3.2$\ell$/min and outside flow rate is 21-33$\ell$/min. The results are presented as Nusselt number with corresponding Reynolds number for variety of outside and inside flow rates. The heat transfer rates of the mixed flow are 8 to 56% higher than those of film falling flow or immerged flow only. Interpretation of the results is given on the basis of physical reasoning and the correlation equations.

  • This study is based on semiotic analysis with a focus on film 'Veteran'. The film is to the reproduced movie in the sign for social problems facing our society. The purpose of this study is to interpreted the implication is that referents and presents of the film to be directed by semiotic. The methodology is the study that the Saussure's semiology as a signifier and signified, and Peirce's semiotic as iconic, index, symbols in contemporary scholars. The Semiotics is analyzed on the basis myth and ideology of Barth. The film director thinks the 'veteran' was replaced by the implications of the role of the actor as a signifier that is the out referent of our society. Thus, the film was sublimated into more than the real as myth in our society desires. So, our society is to implement the right ideas as ideologies process. that is, rewarding the good and punishing the evil, and eventually implement justice society. The implications of this study is going to create a society that is not for specific groups tycoon, is for mutual dependence like the interpretation of the song of the film veteran.

  • Christopher Nolan's film "Inception (2012)", which depicts the world of dreams as a unique space-time and opens a new chapter in the expression of dreams, portrays the dreamy world of unconsciousness. However, I can find limitations and contradictions in the expression of the actual dreams and essence of unrealistic structures and forms. I can find David Lynch's movies "Mulholland drive (2001)", which are closer to Freud's psychoanalysis in expressing the actual presentation process of dreams Through comparative analysis, I try to analyze the interpretation and context of the dream mentioned by Freud. The film "Inception" can be appreciated in terms of space time and rich imagination created from the point of view of science fiction movies, but it shows that logical reasonability is weak in view of applying the essence of dream. On the other hand, the film "Mulholland Drive" describes the illogical, confusing and unhappy feeling of unconsciousness by giving logic and order based on the interpretation of Freud's psychoanalytic dreams, is. In this way, it is possible to portray more realistic scenes of dreams only through the portrayal of dreams and unconsciousness based on Freud's psychoanalytic viewpoint.

  • In this paper, I am going to analyze a commercial film narrative focused on a temporal order through the theory of narrative discourse by Gerard Genette. Advertisements has a special quality or feature to be convertible into mythological hyper reality to advertise an product effectively. In this process, narrative in a commercial film has visual variations using a temporal order to show an glamorously advertisements in television. The reason that narrative in a commercial film is subject to variation with a temporal order, duration, frequency is to get some aesthetic effect for making sure people see them. Under the influence of postmodernism, image making like a pop-art became the first consideration in a commercial film with the consequence that representation as a signifier came to be more important than object as a signified. As a commercial film have more sensational image as a result of visual variation, images in a commercial film became vague so that it does not explain or express an advertising concept dearly. However, those aspects have assets that it gives the TV audience a room for interpretation in advertisements by themselves.

  • Numerical calculation for temperature dependence of galvanomagnetic properties of thin bismuth films is pursued. The quasi-two dimensional system is treated in the perturbation formalism of previous study, where realistic screened potential due to impurity is assumed to be the only scattering channel. The potential is separated into pure two dimensional part and the remaining presumed perturbation part. Relaxation time and mobilities for both electron and hole are evaluated, then temperature dependence of the Hall coefficient and magnetoresistance is obtained. The broad minimum of magnetoresistnace is manifested, and the interpretation under the kinetic theory is made. Thickness dependence of the quantities are also shown, which are in good agreement with the expected quantum size effect.

  • It is a experimental report to investigate optimum exposure technics in angiocardiography. Because of x-ray absorption and rapid voluntary motion in the heart region, it bound that discrimination ability of the exposed film is being decreased in ACG To circumvent these disadvantage it must be necessary to use short time exposure technics and also high capacity equipment in ACG. But in the case of using the low tube voltage to improve contrast on the exposed film, it will be result in a many difficulties in interpretation of the image due to increased contrast in vertebral images. Therefore the ranges 80 kVp to 90 kVp of could be suitable for the purpose of good contrast and an excellent discrimination ability and under this circumstance the optimum grid ratio for ACG was 8:1 to 12:1.
