Evaluation criteria for filling performance of high-flowing concrete using steel-concrete panel

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the practical application of high-flowing concrete for a steel-concrete panel (SCP) module for a liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tank. We evaluated the physical properties and filling performance of the developed concrete for the SCP module. First, slump tests were performed to evaluate the performance of the proposed standards for the filling tests. All the concrete mixes showed satisfactory performance. Based on the results of the previous study, the reliability of the required time measured using the T500 test and the rheometer results measured before and after pumping was 0.94, indicating that segregation and blocking should not occur. L-box and U-box tests were conducted before and after pumping. All the recommended standards showed satisfactory performance. The SCP structural module for LNG storage tanks was fabricated to a full scale to evaluate its practical application at the final site. Satisfactory filling performance was confirmed for all the specimens.

A Study on the Shape and Cone Resistance of Dredged Fill in Geotextile Tube under Water and Drained Conditions (준설토의 퇴적형상과 수침조건에 따른 토목섬유 튜브 내 준설토의 콘 저항치에 관한 연구)

  • A series of tests were conducted to examine the filled tube shape with respect to the filling module type used and to investigate cone resistance properties of a dredged-soil-filled geotextile tube under water and drained conditions. Results based on the filling observation showed that the distribution of the accumulated fills inside the acrylic cell and vinyl tubes differs with respect to the type of filling modules. A crater formation around the inlet area was found during the test using I-type filling module and a horizontal sediment distribution was found during the test using inverse T-Type filling module. The dredged fill material was obtained from the Saemangeum area. The geotextile tube deformation of each filling stage was almost converged when the tube was fully drained. The cone resistance of the dredged fill in the geotextile tube under drained condition is large and is approximately 2~6 times that of the tube under water condition.

Study on Filling Capacity of Self-Consolidating Concrete for Modular LNG Storage Tank (모듈형 LNG 저장탱크용 자기 충전 콘크리트의 충전 성능평가 실용화 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to evaluate the practical application of the self consolidating concrete for the steel concrete pannel (SCP) in module LNG storage tank proposed in the previous research. We evaluated the physical properties and filling performance of developed concrete for the SCP module. First, a slump flow test was conducted to evaluate the performance of the proposed guidelines for the filling test. As a result, all of the concrete used showed satisfactory performance. Based on the results of the previous study, it was found that the reliability of the required time measured by the $T_{500}$ test and the rheometer results measured before and after pumping was 0.94 which means the separation and blocking should not occur. The L-box test and the U-box test were conducted before and after pumping. All of the guidelines suggested showed satisfactory performance. SCP module for LNG storage tanks was fabricated on actual size scale to evaluate the practical application at the final site. As a result, it was confirmed that satisfactory filling performance was obtained in all the specimens.

  • The use of the PMP (Protection Module Package) was proposed as a solution for the shorter battery lifetime. The PMP means that a protection circuit consists of a semiconductor single. In this study, basic research was carried out to select a suitable epoxy material of the EMC module through finite element analysis. First, the stress on the external force was compared by the flexural strength analysis. In the following thermal analysis, the temperature change of the EMC module and the internal part was compared using the calculated heating value. Finally, the filling ratio was compared with the injection of the melting epoxy in the EMC module.

  • Die design by computer simulation has some advantages compared with the conventional method which has performed by designer's experiences and trials and errors. The die filling and solidification process of thixoforming process were simulated by MAGMAsoft/thixo module. Furthermore, the die design for thixoforming was performed with the various geometry shape. The effect of designed gate dimension on filling phenomenon was estimated by filling simulation. The calculated results was compared with experimental data. The free surface phenomenon obtained by experiment have good agreement with computer simulation results. The solidification effect much as prosity and shrinkage for designed semi-solid forging die had been predicted by computer simulation. The designed die for semi-solid forging had been applied to produce of the frame part which is used to airconditious system.

  • The semi-solid processing is now becoming of great interest for the production of various parts by pressure die casting. Also, the rheo-casting has been substituted for thixo-casting, because the rheo-casting can control the solid particles to globular and non-dendritic solid phase. In the rheo-casting process, the important thing is to control the solid particles behavior in semi-solid materials. So in this paper, to control solid particles behavior in semi-solid materials, we experimented about the die filling tests during the semi-solid die casting in 0.3, 0.4, 0.5 and 0, 6 solid fraction. The die filling in semi-solid die casting were simulated by MAGMA soft/thixo module. By the die filling tests and computer simulation, the effect of solid particles behavior in rheology flow had been investigated.

Power Generation Properties and Bending Characteristics of a Flexible Thermoelectric Module Fabricated using PDMS Filling Method (PDMS 충진법을 이용하여 형성한 유연열전모듈의 발전특성과 굽힘특성)

  • A flexible thermoelectric module, which consisted of 18 pairs of Bi2Te3-based hot-pressed p-n thermoelectric legs, were processed by filling the module inside with polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and removing the top and bottom substrates. Its power generation properties and bending characteristics were measured. With putting the flexible module on the wrist, an open circuit voltage of 2.23 mV and a maximum output power of 1.69 ㎼ were generated during staying still. On the other hand, an open circuit voltage of 3.32 mV and a maximum output power of 3.41 ㎼ were obtained with walking motion. The resistance variation of the module was kept below 1% even after applying 30,000 bending cycles with a bending curvature radius of 25 mm.

  • 최근 미디어의 생성 및 소비 기술의 발전으로 몰입도 있는 콘텐츠에 대한 수요가 증가하고 있다. View Interpolation 기술은 두 개의 좌/우 영상을 기반으로 하여 두 영상의 중간 시점에 해당하는 영상을 생성해내는 기술이다. 먼저 Depth Hole Filling Module을 이용하여 좌/우 영상 및 그에 대응하는 깊이 지도를 입력으로 받아 깊이 지도에 존재하는 오류를 검출하고, 보정한다. 깊이 지도의 오류 보정이 완료되면, 해당 데이터를 각각 Feature Matching Module 및 Layer Dividing Module로 전달한다. Feature Matching Module은 실사 영상 내의 특징점들을 검출하고, 두 영상 내 특징점을 매칭하는 역할을 수행하며, Layer Dividing Module은 깊이 값을 기반으로 영상의 Layer를 분할한다. Feature Matching Module에서 특징점의 매칭이 완료되면, 특징점의 영상 내 좌표 및 해당 좌표에서의 깊이 값을 Distance Estimating Module로 전달한다. Distance Estimating Module은 전달받은 특징점의 좌표 및 해당 좌표에서의 깊이 값을 기반으로 전체 깊이 값에서의 이동도를 계산한다. 이와 같이 이동도의 계산 및 Layer 분할이 완료되면, 각 Layer를 이동도에 기반하여 이동시키고, 이동된 Layer들을 포개어 배치함으로써 View interpolation을 완성한다.

In the rheology casting process, the important thing is to control the solid particles behavior in semi-solid materials. So in this paper, to control solid particles behavior in semi-solid materials, we experimented about the die filling during the semi-solid die casting in 0.3, 0.4, 0.5, 0,6 solid fraction. The die filling in semi-solid die casting were simulated by MAGMAsoft/thixo module. By the die filling tests and computer simulation, the effect of solid particles behavior in rheology flow had been investigated.

  • The space launch vehicle needs the verification of each stage's propulsion system. The Propulsion System Test Complex(PSTC) is constructed for developing KSLV-II in the Naro space center. Hydraulic and pneumatic system of PSTC should supply propellants and various gases to propulsion system module according to required condition. This paper introduces liquid oxygen filling system of PSTC.
