Linearity study for the field coil current and the load of eddy current dynamometer (Eddy current 동력계의 부하와 와전류의 직진성 관련 연구)

  • Commercial eddy current dynamometers control the torque of ratating body (poer supply machine) with the field coil current being operated as a braking force. In this paper, we studied about the relation between the field coil current and the torque load of eddy current dynamometer. By the torque measuring analysis of eddy current dynamometer, it is linear relation between the brake force measured from the torque meter (e.g. load cell, strain gage or spring balance etc.) which is installed at the case of dynamometer and the multiply of shaft rpm by the square of field coil current (N$\times$Ia2). To prove the relation, it was experimented and showed that the torque operated by the rotating body can be measured with the shaft rpm and the field coil current of eddy current dynamometer. This result shows a possibility that eddy current dynamometer can measures the torque of rotating body without special torque measuring devices.

  • In this paper, control method proposed for effective speed control of the induction motor indirect vector control. For the induction motor drive, indirect vector control scheme that controls torque current and flux current of the stator current independently so that it can have improved dynamics. Also, neuro-fuzzy algorithm employed for torque current control in order to optimal speed control The proposed neuro-fuzzy algorithm can be applied to the precise speed control of an induction motor drive system or the field of any other power systems.

  • In general, the forklift driven by DC motor drive system is used in the industrial field. Classically, the DC motor is controlled by current control using proportion control method, by output torque following the load on the plane like a manual operation. But in the industrial field, the forklift is demanded the robust drive mode. Some cases of the mode, there aretrouble in torque control following slope capacity. The control is sensitive concerning about slope angle and output speed, various control method is studied for stability of speed control. In this paper, I apply current control for the self-tuning using the fuzzy controller to obtain robust, stable speed control and use stable, high efficiency control using DSP as main controller for high speed processor, embody dynamic characteristic of control compared the PI controller to the fuzzy controller.

  • Recently, Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor(PMSM) drives are widely used for industrial applications due to its high efficiency and high power factor control strategy. PMSM generally have two classifications such as the SPMSM(Surface Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors) and IPMSM(Inter Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors). IPMSA has economical merits over SPMSM in higher speed range, mechanical robustness, and higher power rate by the geometric difference. The maximum torque operation in IPMSM is realized by the current angle control which is to utilize additional reluctance torque due to a rotor saliency. In traction, spindle and compressor drives, constant power operation with higher speed range are desirable. This is simply achieved in the DC motor drives by the reduction of the field current as the speed is increased. However, in the PMSM, direct control of the magnet flux is not available. The airgap flux can be weakened by the appropriate current angle control to demagnetize. In this paper, the control method of optimal current vector in IPMSM is described in order to obtain the maximum torque or maximum output with the speed and load variations. The applied algorithm is realized by the proto system with torque and speed control Experimental results show this approach is satisfied for the high performance servo applications.   • The paper proposes instantaneous torque control of IPMSM for maximum torque drive of torque and current plane. The control scheme is based on the mathematical model of the motor and is applicable to the constant torque and field weakening operations. The scheme allows the motor to be driven with maximum torque per ampere(MTPA) characteristic below base speed and it maintains the maximum voltage limit of the motor wide field weakening and the motor current limit under all conditions of operation accurately. For each control mode, a condition that determines the optimal d-axis current $^id$ for maximum torque operation is derived. The proposed control algorithm is applied to IPMSM drive system for drive of wide speed range, the operating characteristics controlled that maximum torque control are examined in detail by simulation.

  • The power semiconductor is widely used in the power plant or industrial field because of genealization and enlargement. It has been controlled and operated according to its own control method. Especially in case of Power plant, it plays a major role in AVR(Automatic Voltage Regulator) or electro chlorination control circuits. Generally, they used in Analog control system at above field. But each SCR current value is different because of load unbalance or switching characteristic variations, it may cause power plant unit trip or system disorder according to SCR element burn out or bad operating condition. Therefore, in this paper a development of 3 phase current balance control algorithm is described. it gets over the past analog control system limit, controls SCR gate firing angle for 3 phase current balance.

  • This study was to control magnetic field orientation-typed sensorless vector control by applying the theory of a rotor flux observer to drive an induction motor. This research suggested a new speed estimation method that estimates speed with the rotor flux obtained by using a flux observer and the variable of state current detected by a current sensor without a speed sensor. Because the speed estimation method is independent from the motor constants, it is not necessary to control the gain of the parameters and the algorithm is simple. In the findings of the study, the researcher was convinced of the control function and the possibility of realization in the simulation experiment of sensorless vector control system by using DSP(Digital Signal Prosessor).

  • The back e.m.f. of PMSM is increased as the speed is increased and it saturates the current regulator because it counteracts the available output voltage of the inverter. In the PM motor, however, the required armature terminal voltage can be reduced within the maximum output voltage of the inverter by field weakening control, in which the air gap flux is weakened by the d-axis armature current. In this paper, the field weakening control of the surface PMSM fed by a hysteresis current control led PWM inverter based on the microprocessor is presented. To show the validity of the proposed control method, the simulation and experimental results are provided.

  • A compact model of tunnel field effect transistor (TFET) has been developed. The model includes a surface potentia calculation module and a band-to-band-tunneling current module. Model comparison with TCAD shows that the mode calculates TFET surface potential and drain current accurately.
