휠체어 사용자의 대변기 이용을 위한 화장실 유효바닥면적에 대한 연구 (A Study on Effective Floor Area for Wheelchair Users to Use Toilet)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this paper is to provide logical basis on enlargement of toilet floor space for the disabled by "ACT ON GUARANTEE OF PROMOTION OF CONVENIENCE OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES, THE AGED, PREGNANT WOMEN. ETC" Revised Enforcement regulation [Asterisk 1] (2018.2.10.) and to help with making plans, designs and establishing policies by conducting experimental study with the enhanced floor area regulations. Methods: We conduct Experimental study, field work and interview for this paper. In experimental study, verification of the effective floor area was proceeded by measuring activity space for people in manual wheelchair, electric wheel chair and electric scooter and also reviewed useable area with the space expanded 0.2m both width and depth. In filed work, conducted an observation what other things (ex. sanitary equipment, hand rail and so on) can also affect the active space as well as effective floor space. In the interview, other problems and requirements that were not revealed were experimental study and observation of field work. Results : it's expected to provide better access to toilets for the disabled with the law revision of effective floor area. But, with the usage increasement of enlarged wheel chair and electric wheel chair, expanding side areas of toilet is also highly likely to be required going forward. Implications : Additional research is required on locations of exists and internal arrangement that effect the usage of toilet. It should be led to Universal design by making additional investigation and verification of the users patterns.

원심압축기의 공력소음 저감에 관한 설계연구 Part II : 저소음 최적설계 (A Design Study of Aerodynamic Noise Reduction In Centrifugal Compressor Part II . Low-noise Optimization Design)

  • The numerical methods including the performance analysis and the noise prediction of the centrifugal compressor impeller are coupled with the optimization design skill, which consists of response surface method, statistical approach, and genetic algorithm. The flow-field Inside of a centrifugal compressor is obtained numerically by solving Wavier-Stokes equations. and then the propagating noise is estimated from the distributed surface pressure by using Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings formulation. The quadratic response surface model with D-optimal 3-level factorial experimental design points is constructed to optimize the impeller geometry for the advanced centrifugal compressor. The statistical analysis shows that the quadratic model exhibits a reasonable fitting quality resulting in the impeller blade design with high performance and low far-field noise level. The influences of selected design variables, objective functions, and constraints on the impeller performance and the impeller noise are also examined as a result of the optimization process.

Phase-field simulation of radiation-induced bubble evolution in recrystallized U-Mo alloy

  • In the present work, a phase-field model was developed to investigate the influence of recrystallization on bubble evolution during irradiation. Considering the interaction between bubbles and grain boundary (GB), a set of modified Cahn-Hilliard and Allen-Cahn equations, with field variables and order parameters evolving in space and time, was used in this model. Both the kinetics of recrystallization characterized in experiments and point defects generated during cascade were incorporated in the model. The bubble evolution in recrystallized polycrystalline of U-Mo alloy was also investigated. The simulation results showed that GB with a large area fraction generated by recrystallization accelerates the formation and growth of bubbles. With the formation of new grains, gas atoms are swept and collected by GBs. The simulation results of bubble size and distribution are consistent with the experimental results.

용량방전점화장치의 설계 (Design of the Capacitor Discharge Ignition System)

  • 개소린 엔진 자동차의 연료절차, 공해감소, 보수경감을 목적으로 용량방전점화장치(CDI)를 해석적 및 실험적으로 설계하는 과정을 기술하였다. 특히 방전시스템에 대한 간단한 모델을 사용함으로써 점화코일의 입출력전압, 전류를 계산하였다. 그 결과 실험치와 비교하였으며 이로 부터 최적점화조건을 만족하기 위한 방전용량, SCR 및 다이오드의 정격과 DC-DC 콘버터의 소요출력전압을 결정하였다. 또 과도한 dv/dt 및 di/dt에 대한 SCR의 보호회로를 해석하고 그 결과를 관측된 결과를 관측된 결과와 비교하였는데 이로써 SCR선택과 보호회로 및 트리거 회로 설계가 용이하게 된다. 더우기 DC-DC콘버터의 거동에 대한 실험적 결과를 해석하므로써 콘버터 설계를 간이화하였다. 실용적인 CDI장치를 시작하였으며 이것은 실험실 및 노상 시험에서 만족할만한 성능을 나타냈다. 그 시험결과도 아울러 보고한다. An analytical and experimental design procedure is described for the Capacitor Discharge Ignition (CDI) System with a view to fuel saving ann reduction of gas exhaustion and maintenance need. Specifically, the input and output voltage and current of a given ignition coil were calculated by using a simplified circuit model for the discharging system. The results were compared with the experimental results, from which ratings of the charging capacitor, the SCR and the diodes and the required output valtage of the DC·DC converter were determined so as to satisfy the optimum ignition conditions. Protection circuits for excessive dv/dt and di/dt for the SCR were also analyzed and the results were compared with the observed results, which facilitate selection of the SCR and design of the protection circuit and the trigger circuit. Also, design of the DC·DC converter was simplified based on the analysis and experimental results of the behavior of the converter, An experimental, yet practical CDI system was built, which showed satisfactory performance in the laboratory and field tests. The results were also reported.

평판형 ER-Valve의 제작 및 성능실험 (Design and Performance Test of Plate Type ER-Valve)

  • In this research 4 plate type ER-Valves which have same surface but different width and length are designed and an experimental apparatus is constructed. With this experimental apparatus, flow rate and pressure drop of ER fluid flowing in ER-valves are measured with varying electric field strength of ER-valve, and relation between valve types and pressure drop is also experimented. ER fluid is made silicon oil mixed with 40wt% starch having hydrous particles. If we allow the same electric field in the ER-Valve, we came to how that the pressure drop is effected by the electrode length and electrode width. When the strength of the electric field increased, the pressure drop happened big and the flow rate decreased.

  • To realize magnetic sails, momentum of the solar wind should be efficiently transferred to a spacecraft via magnetic field, which is produced around a spacecraft. In this paper, two important physical processes are addressed: 1) diffusive processes caused by plasma turbulence at the magnetospheric boundary around the spacecraft; and 2) field aligned current loops that will electrically connect the magnetospheric boundary and the spacecraft. The idea of the magnetic sails will be demonstrated by an experimental simulator, in which a fast plasma beam will penetrate into a dipole magnetic field. For that purpose, the two important physical processes should be scaled down to a small laboratory experiment in a space chamber. From the scaling considerations, the interaction can be scaled down if high-speed and high-density $(10^{19}m^{-3})$ plasma jet is used with 1-T-class magnetic field.

A Study on Prototype Hybrid (LTS/HTS) Magnet for NMR Application

  • NMR over 1 GHz (23.5 T) level has difficulties in design and fabrication with only low temperature superconducting (LTS) wire because of its material characteristics such as the decay of critical current under the magnetic field. Because High temperature superconducting (HTS) tape has a good performance under the extremely high magnetic field, it has been developed for high-field magnet over 23.5 T. In this paper, the LTS magnet was made for applying magnetic fields externally and the HTS coil was designed and fabricated. The electromagnetic field analysis has been done with respect to the structure and the operating current of the LTS and HTS coil. Considering to the field homogeneity and the center field, the design parameters which is suitable for the HTS coil were found. The HTS insert coil was impregnated with epoxy resin in order to prevent the movement of winding during energizing the magnet. The hybrid magnet (LTS/HTS) magnet was fabricated and tested based on the design parameters. The experimental result shows that the LTS background magnet and the HTS insert coil can be operated stable beyond 220 A and 210 A. The final value 4.32 T at the center was acquired.

  • 농사실험에서 품종실험자료를 분석할 때, 난괴법(Completely Randomized Block Design) 모형을 많이 이용하고 있다. 이 모형에서는 각 블록내의 모든 실험단위들에서 비옥도가 같다고 가정한다. 그러나 많은 경우에 각 블록내 실험단위들의 비옥도에 규칙적인 이질성이 존재한다. 이러한 이질성을 고려하기 위하여, 본 논문에서는 다단계 일반화 선형모형(Hierarchical Generalized Linear Models)을 이용하여 품종효과와 블록내의 비옥도 효과를 함께 모형화 하고, 이 모형으로 Scottish Agricultural Colleges의 목록에 실려 있는 자료를 분석하여, 마코프체인 몬테칼로(Markov Chain Monte Carlo)방법으로 분석한 결과와 비교해 본다.

Modular and versatile platform for the benchmarking of modern actuators for robots

  • This work presents a test platform for the assessment and benchmarking of modern actuators which have been specifically developed for the new field and service robotics applications. This versatile platform has been designed for the comparative analysis of actuators of dissimilar technology and operating conditions. It combines a modular design to adapt to linear and rotational actuators of different sizes, shapes and functions, as well as those with different load capacities, power and displacement. This test platform emulates the kinematics of robotic joints while an adaptive antagonist-load actuator allows reproducing the variable dynamic loads that actuators used in real robotics applications will be subjected to. A data acquisition system is used for monitoring and analyzing test actuator performance. The test platform combines hardware and software in the loop to allow actuator performance characterization. The use of the proposed test platform is demonstrated through the characterization and benchmarking of three controllable impedance actuators recently being incorporated into modern robotics.

해류발전 로터의 개발 (Development of Current Generation Rotor)

  • In this research, a design guideline of current generating rotor and acceptable field rotor in offshore environment is proposed. To design rotor model, wind mill rotor design principles and turbine theories were applied based on a field rotor experimental data. To verify the compatibility of the rotor design method and to analyze the properties of design factors, 3 rotor models were designed and experimented in a circular water channel. Three rotor models were designed according to different blade numbers and blade shapes. With various flow velocities and rotor rpm, the rotor power and efficiency were measured and the properties of rotor were estimated. The results can be effectively applied to the design of current generation rotor.
